We had a fantastic 4 night stay at Rice Field Ideal Homestay. The room was very comfortable, with a great bed, and every time we looked out the window, we had to pinch ourselves because the view was absolutely stunning. The guesthouse is located just above the Blue Terrace, not far from Azheke Village (mushroom houses) and a few minutes drive from the Duoyishu Terrace. Xiao Gao, the owner, is a local. He took amazing care of us, upgraded us and made sure we had the best stay. When he realized we had no means of transportation, he drove us himself to various terraces and viewing points in his car. Reaching Yuanyang can be a little tricky, so here is how we got there: we took a train from Kunming to Jianshui, and contacted Rice Field Ideal Homestay on WeChat to ask for a transfer by car. It cost 120 yuan/person, and the drive from Jianshui to the Blue Terrace took about 2.5 hours. Easy peasy.  We highly recommend staying there and hope to be back one day. Xiao Gao and all his family are amazing people.

The only positive thing about this hotel is the view on the blue terraces from panoramic windows. Well, the girls at the reception and in the restaurant were kind. But the service is practically absent. No daily cleaning of the room. The "manager" promised thousand times to bring me here and there, to find a car to the places where he didn't want to go, but there was nothing more than words, I had to arrange everything by myself. Ah, another funny thing - the electricity drops from time to time. Maybe in the night, when you sleep and don't realise that the air conditioning doesn't work anymore. Last but not least, coffee machine didn't work and the breakfast used to start with 10-15 minutes of delay.

This guesthouse is ideal for viewing and exploring the blue terrace. One can even view it from the comfort of the bedroom. The icing on the cake is that XiaoGao, the owner of the guesthouse, is an extremely helpful and warm host. He would recommend scenic spots for viewing nearby rice terraces which are off the beaten track and it’s been an an enjoyable eye-opening experience. Highly recommended if you want an authentic experience in Yuanyang.

The road to Yuanyang Blue Terraces is winding and difficult to drive. The lady boss contacted us in advance and reserved a parking space. The B&B is located in Aichun Blue Terraces, and you can see the terraces from the room window. The scenery is great. The bathroom in Building 1 is a bit shabby, but it's clean. There is a restaurant downstairs. You don't have to go out to find food.

The Blue Terraces view room has a good location and beautiful scenery. There are terraces outside the window. You can see the beautiful terraces when you open the window. You can watch the sunset in the room, but you need to go to Duoyishu to watch the sunrise, which is a bit far away.

Advantages: The location of the B&B is very good, right next to the blue terraced viewing platform. You can also directly see the terraced fields from the room and the public area outside; there is also a restaurant downstairs, which is convenient and the price is slightly lower than other hotels outside. Disadvantages: The room type is not good. From the outside, it looks like a triangular corner built by the B&B. The toilet and bathroom are facing the bed. The space is narrow, the windows are broken, and the wind is strong and it whistles at night; there is no supply of detergents. In general, the B&B in the mountains is not bad. It is self-sufficient if you don’t have too high requirements. You are here to see the scenery.

If you go to Yuanyang to see the terraced fields, you can just stay at his house. The terraced fields outside his window are the most beautiful, sunrise, sunset, and any time of the day are beautiful. You can also walk in the terraced fields, which feels great! It is also convenient for eating.

This inn is where the blue terraces are located. The floor-to-ceiling windows of the room we stayed in can directly see the terraces. The inn also has a public viewing platform with beautiful scenery. The room fee is worth it, but the road is a bit congested, there are too many cars, and the road is not wide enough. It would definitely be great if you come here on weekdays. The inn is not far from the Azheke Ancient Village. The owner said that it would be a pity not to go to Azheke when you come to Yuanyang. The Azheke Ancient Village is also very good, with terraces and a sea of ​​clouds viewing platform.

The room decoration is just like the pictures in the store, the view is good, the facilities are acceptable, after all, it is a self-operated homestay. It is run by locals, warm and kind, and the service is thoughtful and responsive. It has its own parking lot and is self-driving friendly. The chef in the restaurant is good and the dishes are fresh and delicious. The future is promising.

The B&B is right next to the blue terraced fields, with an unbeatable view. The owner of the B&B is a Hani boy, very enthusiastic, and the recommended Hadanpu Observation Deck, which has not yet been fully repaired, is the biggest surprise of this trip. During the Spring Festival, the Yuanyang Terraces were really congested, and basically only within walking distance of the B&B, but it still felt great and I experienced the charm of the terraced fields. I hope to have a chance to come again!

The location of the B&B is unbeatable, just opposite the blue terraces. There are 7 parking spaces at the door. If you don't stay at the hotel, you are not allowed to park. The parking spaces next to it are 20 yuan per time (a bit dark). The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room can be clearly opened to see the entire terrace, which is very comfortable. The downside is that it is quite cold at night in the mountains. The air conditioner is a cheap brand with insufficient power. There is only one bed with an electric blanket in the family room, which is a bit cold. It was much better after taking a hot shower. In addition, the Hani owner of the B&B may have organized a bonfire party during the festival, and there were fireworks, which made up for the defect that there were no activities in the mountains at night. Overall, it was not bad.
