Hotel Berghof

Great boutique hotel with spa, pool, gym included next to Glacier Paradise gondola. Breakfast and dinning very nice with view to the Matterhorn from the terrace. Easy walk 5 minutes to Zermatt village and bus stop steps away from the hotel.

A lovely hotel in a great location. Awesome breakfast and facilities including a spa. The male manager is a bit grumpy, he needs a hug or two probably. Warmly recommended.

If I could give this hotel 6 stars I would. Perfect service, great room with beautiful view of the Matterhorn, spa was excellent and clean. Breakfast was delicious and the bar in the evening was relaxing. The ski lockers and boot driers were great to have. Steps to the Matterhorn Gondola. Will stay again.

An excellent 5-star experience with a comfortable, friendly touch. We stayed for 4 days in Zermatt and the staff, the hotel facilities and location made it a very memorable and pleasant experience. The hotel provides pickup service from the train station: walking for 15 minutes with baggage is not for everyone. We requested a room with a Matterhorn view but unfortunately our first full day had clouds and showers, but awoke to the Matterhorn in full glory in a cloudless sky. The cleanliness of the room was excellent, with good furnishings and a very nice shower and bath. The sauna facilities and pools are not to be missed, especially after a long hike. Comfortable bar area, great breakfast and a very good restaurant all without sorting through some touristy places in town. Very close proximity to to trails and the lifts to Glacier Paradise. Would definitely stay here again.

This is the perfect place to stay in Zermatt. The views of the Matterhorn are perfect. You can walk to town, but the hotel itself is quiet. Every part of the hotel has been designed thoughtfully and is adorable. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Lovely few days walking around Zermatt with the Berghof as an incredibly friendly and comfortable base.

We booked a room for 7 nights this December and our experience was lovely! The room is modern and clean, the Matterhorn view from the room was fantastic, the fire place helped to provide nice worm atmosphere. When we had to leave 2 days before our departure, the hotel owner agreed not to charge for this 2 days ( it was unexpectable and very kind). The hotel is nice located very close to the ski lift and only 10 minute walk to the village centre. Very good breakfasts. Thank you for the lovely holiday.

We booked the junior suite for 2 nights and it was superb! We had a direct view on the Matterhorn and it was really breathtaking. The hotel, lounge, welness area is more than perfect, someone really invested the time and effort to reach the current state. But... obviously the restaurant part missed to have the same focus. Restaurant: The offering is limited, which is not a problem, but offering the "summer menu" in the first half of December is a bit strange. Of course it is hard to match everyone's taste, but both of us had some concerns with our meals. Considering the price we were expecting a more positive experience. Also, the breakfast was a big disappointment. On the first morning I misunderstood something about the available options (due to the lack of English communication). Anyway, I requested to have an omlette, which is not part of the included breakfast. For 10 CHF I was expecting something extra, but I got a simple omlette without any additional ingredients (made with a bit too much oil). The portion was unneccessarily huge. The next day I realized that scrambled eggs are offered within the included breakfast option, so I went for it. I got it with a lot of bacon and overall it was great! But the portion was super tiny, like 20-25% of the previous day's omlett. Also, it was already cold when it was served. Then they are not offering a sufficient meat selection for the breakfast. There were 2 types of ham, one from pork and one from chicken/turkey. Yeah, there was some strange "salametti", but it had a sour taste. I missed the option for some bacon/sausage/frankfurter/salami. The rest of the non-meat options were ok. Overall our experience was good, we would gladly go back to this hotel, but only in case of an improved breakfast selection. There is room for improvement considering the restaurant part. Best regrads, Tibor
