Beautiful building combining modern and old architecture, small but clean room with facilities and amenities (even a big bottle of body cream!), superb view to the river and Parliament even from bed (ask for the rooms with balcony, it's a plus!). Can't comment about breakfast because we didn't have
Value for money stay at Movenpick Hotel (previously known as Novotel), enjoyed the very soft bed and modern design of the room. Excellent location next to tram and metro stations, and lots of restaurants and supermarkets within 5 min walk.
Awesome place to stay. Very cooperative staff.. specially Soroush who explained me how to reach airport during mid night. And during checkin i was well briefed by a lovely receptionist in glasses and blonde hair. (dont know her name) she was so helpful to inform me about the activities and amenities available at the hostel. Location is also ideal visit various locations in Budapest. Highly recommended for solo travellers.
The hotel boasts a prime location, just about 400 meters from both the metro and bus stops. The rooms are quite small, certainly compact. Conveniently situated in Buda, it's a short distance from Fisherman's Bastion and the Castle.
I had an excellent stay in this hotel, is very well located. The room was extremely comfortable. Had an issue with the Safe and the TV and both were promptly addressed and solved. Also the breakfast with great variety and in reasonable hours.
Excellent location, right in the city center, and surprisingly quiet despite being street-facing. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet. It featured a shower, complimentary shared restrooms, and paid laundry service was available. A big plus was having considerate roommates.
The location is strategic near Keleti train station and from there, it connects to Budapest's places of interest via tram, bus, metro and taxis. It is also a hub connecting to other parts of Europe via trains. It's also walking distance to Arena mall and the many shops around Keleti Railway station.
Checking in and out was smooth with friendly staff. Room was reasonably large, clean, good air condition, strong water pressure and WiFi connection.
Breakfast was nice with breads, fruits, meats and coffee from machines.
The apartment is amazing, which has two floors. The hotel is located in center of Budapest, and I have never bought the ticket for the public transportation, just because, all tourism spot is within the walking distance.
The hotel was well positioned close to St Stephen’s Basilica, with all local amenities on the doorstep including a Lidl supermarket around the corner, plus restaurants and bars in short walking distance. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were basic and even double beds were actually two single beds together but reasonably comfortable, the rooms were also pretty compact with an open plan bathroom with a curtain. For our weekend away it was fine and for me personally I got it at a reduced price booking last minute but others paid a lot more, so for similar price I would personally prefer some of the 4 star hotels located closed by. The breakfast was included which is a bonus, and had a selection of hot/cold food/drinks, served until 10.30am, and you can order a packed breakfast, it was basic but something for everyone. Also there is scaffolding outside of the hotel, so may not be as easy to see the name for when you first arrive.
The subway and bus stops are within a 5-minute walk, so you won't have any trouble getting anywhere.
The hotel is old and dilapidated, but considering the price, it's totally acceptable.

GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. They offered us a complimentary upgrade. Great facilities at the hotel, including billiard and gym room for free. The room was spacious, the bathroom was gigantic. The toiletries they offered are from penhaligons. The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of choices. A very exceptional experience. Will definitely come back.
GGuest UserWhen I arrived at the hotel before 7 o'clock, I was nervous because the entrance door was closed, but when I looked around the intercom, there was a call code on it, so I just had to press it. I went inside just as the other guests were coming out. All the staff were kind and greeted me with a smile, making me feel at ease. A bottle of wine was included in the room and it was delicious!

Great
MM47685****Carlton Hotel is truly excellent. Its location is superb, being very close to Buda Castle, just a 5-minute walk away, and only 200 meters from the western end of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. While not a large hotel, it is exceptionally clean, and the service is outstanding.
Despite arriving early in the morning, well before the standard 3 PM check-in time, the reception staff were incredibly accommodating and allowed me to check in at 11 AM. The room was modern and impeccably clean.
Upon check-out, Ms. Reka not only gifted me with honey but also kindly arranged a taxi for me.
Carlton Hotel truly stands out as one of the best hotels here. I will definitely be returning on my next visit.
SStavroula AnagnostopoulouFor a one-night stay, Wombat's City Hostel Budapest is a fantastic choice. The location is absolutely perfect, placing you right in the heart of the city's nightlife and close to everything you need. The staff was incredibly helpful and the common areas, especially the bar, had a great vibe. My room was clean and comfortable, providing a perfect base for a quick trip to Budapest. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a social and well-located hostel.
SSoh KTVery very troublesome. Trip.com tried to contact me few days before my stay asking for my email for the hotel to send me instructions. Need to download app etc. Very late check in at 4pm for me. Waited since 12.30pm with my luggages. No luggage storage. Not just me, outside the hotel there were 4 other groups of people waiting and keeps refreshing their email waiting for the check in. Check out at 10am, I have no idea why 3pm still can't finish cleaning. During my 3 day stay there were no cleaning at all so what are you busy with?
YYanaThe main advantage of this hotel is its location. It is literally next to the airport, which makes it an ideal option for travelers. A huge plus is the free shuttle service, which arrives very quickly after landing and also takes you back to the airport. This is really convenient and saves a lot of time.
As for the room, this time we stayed in a small double room. There are a few things that could be improved. The shower door was broken and didn’t close properly, so some water leaked onto the floor. There were also too few power outlets — it would be great to have more. I couldn’t switch the air conditioning to heating mode, and the room felt a bit chilly. The radiator in the bathroom didn’t work either, even when turned on to maximum, which was inconvenient because I wanted to dry some clothes. The lighting in the bathroom was quite poor. It would also be very convenient if slippers and bathrobes were provided in the room.
On the positive side, the bed was extremely comfortable, with a great mattress and soft pillows. The room was clean, tidy, and well-maintained. Despite being so close to the airport, the hotel was very quiet — we slept wonderfully. We especially appreciated the blackout curtains, which completely block out light and make the room perfectly dark.
A special compliment goes to the kitchen. We ordered room service — a burger, goulash, and cappuccino — everything was incredibly delicious, a true 10 out of 10. Breakfast was also impressive: a wide variety of dishes, from steamed and boiled to fried options. Lots of snacks and cheeses — everyone can find something to their taste.
In summary, there are some things that could be improved, but overall the hotel left a very good impression. Next time we travel through Budapest, we will stay here again.
GGuest UserReading the reviews, overall I was expecting worse. The room was a little dated but clean, the bathroom ditto. Clean sheets and towels. On the other hand, the pillows offered are really uncomfortable, the mini bar is not working and the breakfast is very poor and without a sweet proposal: I went on for three days on bread, butter and jam. The staff were friendly enough and the location was excellent for getting to the center by public transport.
MMary RaftiBeautiful building combining modern and old architecture, small but clean room with facilities and amenities (even a big bottle of body cream!), superb view to the river and Parliament even from bed (ask for the rooms with balcony, it's a plus!). WWarlie Zambales DiazHotel President Budapest exceeded all my expectations! The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing stay. The breakfast selection was outstanding, offering a wide variety of options that catered to all tastes, and everything I tried was delicious and fresh. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional—they were incredibly warm, accommodating, and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was perfect.
The hotel’s location is another highlight. It is within walking distance of major landmarks like The Parliament and St. Stephen’s Basilica, making it a perfect base for exploring Budapest. There are also many great restaurants and other tourist spots nearby, making it easy to enjoy the city without the hassle of long commutes. I highly recommend this hotel for its quality and convenience!
