March 26, 2023, the twelfth day of self-driving around China, from Anji, Zhejiang to Shendu Town, Anhui, 210 kilometers. Xin'an River, also known as Hui Port, is the upper section of the main stream of the Qiantang River system, originating from Huizhou (now Huangshan City) in Anhui Province, entering the western part of Zhejiang Province, and after passing through Chun'an to Jiande, it merges with Lanjiang to form the main stream of the Qiantang River, Tongjiang section and Fuchunjiang section, flowing northeast into the Qiantang River, which is the main source of the Qiantang River. Xin'an River is famous for its beautiful water color, and the ancient villages with pink walls and black tiles are reflected in the Xin'an River, forming a wonderful landscape painting. Shendu Town, located in the eastern part of Shexian County, was formed during the Tang Dynasty and built during the Song Dynasty. It was the water throat from ancient Huizhou to Zhejiang and an important distribution center for goods. It used to be the most prosperous ancient town on the water in Huizhou. Until the 1990s, it was still the largest hub on the water in Huizhou. With the rise of land transportation, the bustling scene of the past is no longer, which is sighing. Shendu Bridge, a cement arch bridge spanning the Xin'an River. In the morning fog, the scenery on both sides is picturesque, as if in a fairyland. The town in the morning is bustling and very lively. I tasted the local special breakfast, which has a unique taste and is quite good. Shendu Wharf used to be a transportation post, where many merchants from the south to the north have lingered and rested their tired bodies and minds. I arrived at the wharf early in the morning. The Xin'an River in the early morning is shrouded in mist. Take a boat tour, the ticket is 138 yuan, and an additional 50 yuan is added to the bow. The boat will stop at Jiusha Village, Miantan Village and Zhangtan Village on the way. As the boat progresses, the scenery changes, as if walking into a landscape scroll. The river is like ink, the mountains are like paintings, and the experience is in the painting. Of course, the daily life of people on the shore, the smoke is curling, playing and making noise, are all different scenes in the eyes of us tourists. Perhaps this is the fun of travel, looking for a strange place, looking at the scenery, people, and daily life. Jiusha Village, 6 kilometers away from Shendu Town, is nestled in the mountains and rivers. The ancient Huizhou-style village in the green mountains and rivers is harmonious and quiet, and full of mystery. The closed small village in the past has become a popular tourist spot because of the custom of sun drying. Zhangtan Village is located in the middle of Xin'an River Bay, the turning point of the cruise ship. In the past, due to inconvenient transportation, the Huizhou-style buildings in the village were well preserved. The world's first bed and the first sedan chair in the Red Makeup Museum are worth seeing. The ancient camphor in Zhangtan, with a tree age of over a thousand years, is known as the "King of Camphor Trees". Miantan Village is 10 kilometers away from Shendu Town and the last scenic spot of the cruise ship. Watch a large-scale live performance of "Nine Surnames Fishing Wind". It reproduces the scene of fishing with traditional methods and fishing gear. The beauty of Xin'an River is intoxicating. Drifting on the river, while admiring the green mountains and rivers, while feeling the refreshing breeze. Here, I found inner peace and felt the wonderful beauty of nature. The 138 yuan boat ticket is super cost-effective.
