Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile, a symbol of victory

#visitparis The Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile, situated at the western end of the Champs Elysees at the centre of the juncture radiating twelve avenues, is one of the most famous monument in Paris. This monument honors those who fought and died for France during French Revolution and Napoleonic wars. It was built based on the inspiration by the Arch of Titus in Rome, and it calurrently stands an overall height of 50m. Beneath the Arc is also the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War 1. There is also a ceremony held every year 11th of November in commemoration of the Armistice Day.
