Must-Visit Attractions: 1 Nanqiao Tower The solemn and simple city tower bears the prominent inscription 'Huizhou Prefecture'. Nanqiao Tower was built at the end of the Sui Dynasty, with a history of over 1400 years. The square city gate is constructed in the Song Dynasty architectural style - the column grid method, a building technique with few remaining examples. Entering Nanqiao Tower is the start of a journey through ancient and modern times! 2 Huizhou Prefecture Yamen Passing through Nanqiao Tower, directly ahead is the landmark building of Shexian County - Huizhou Prefecture Yamen. As the administrative center of ancient Huizhou Prefecture, the Yamen was the office of the prefect, commonly known as 'Yamen'. Inside the Yamen, there are many ancient photo spots: the Yamen's welcoming path, the six-room corridor, the main hall, the flower hall, the back garden, etc., all are beautiful spots for ancient-style photos. 3 Ancient City Wall From the back garden of the Huizhou Prefecture Yamen, you can climb onto the city wall. The wall was built at the end of the Sui Dynasty. Walking on the ancient city wall, with its Tang bricks and Song tiles, surrounded by mountains and rivers, whitewashed walls and black tiles, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the ancient city! 4 Xu Guo Stone Archway Walking past the city wall and through Yanghe Gate, you can see the Xu Guo Stone Archway (commonly known as the 'Eight-Legged Archway'). The Xu Guo Stone Archway was built in the twelfth year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1584), and has a history of more than four hundred years. Supported by eight pillars, it is majestic and spectacular, with exquisite carvings, and is known as the 'Eastern Arc de Triomphe'. Dressed in splendid attire, accompanied by the century-old stone archway, it feels like walking through a hundred years of vicissitudes. 5 Hui Garden To the north of the Xu Guo Stone Archway is Hui Garden, which was established in March 1999. Renhe Building, the ancient stage, the Nine Dragons Wall, the lotus pond, and the Jade Belt Bridge are all excellent spots for ancient-style photos. For those who love photography, it will be a trip well worth it! 6 Doushan Street Doushan Street is known as the 'modern Rainy Lane', winding and long, with an extra charm on rainy days. Holding an oil-paper umbrella, walking on the long Doushan Street, you become the girl as lovely as lilacs.
