Suzhou - Canglang Pavilion

I visited Suzhou before, there are many gardens and even more people. The famous scenic spots (Zhuozheng Garden, Liuyuan Garden, Tiger Hill, Hanshan Temple, etc.) are crowded, and the gardens are full of people, so you can't enjoy the scenery. Today I originally planned to go to the popular Shiquan Street, but I saw that there was a World Cultural Heritage site, the 'Canglang Pavilion' scenic area, 600 meters away. It turned out to be one of the four major gardens in Suzhou, and I don't know if it's because of the off-season that there are very few people. This courtyard is said to have been initially built during the Five Dynasties. The Northern Song Dynasty poet Su Shunqin bought the abandoned garden and rebuilt it, built a pavilion on the rockery and named it 'Canglang Pavilion'. Ouyang Xiu was also invited to write a long poem 'Canglang Pavilion'. Later, it changed hands several times and was even converted into a temple during the Yuan Dynasty. It was rebuilt on the old site during the Kangxi period, and the inscriptions preserved in the garden are basically from the Kangxi period. The most amazing thing is the unique leaky windows, each one is different, and the scenery behind is also different. You can see that the original designer was very thoughtful. When the weather is good and there are few people, you can really appreciate the exquisite Suzhou-style gardens, with mountains and water, it's refreshing and pleasant.
