Located in Yangshuo, Guangxi, the Ruyi Peak Scenic Area is a popular tourist attraction and a place of outstanding natural beauty. To get here, you will need a private car, either by renting a car yourself or by hiring a driver-which was exactly what we did. It is around 2 hours from the city of Guilin, but the upside is that you can combine this attraction together with several others on a circular daytrip-therefore saving time and money. Tickets are not cheap, around 250¥ per person, but worth it if you want to do everything here. Firstly, there is a magnificent cable car ride up to the peak, which offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Once up at the top, there are several walking trails to complete. There is a hanging cable bridge between two mountains, a hanging observation deck over a cliff and various cliff-hugging bridges with glass floors. If you are afraid of heights or agoraphobic, this probably isn't the place for you! We were lucky, as there were very few people here and travel restrictions were just lifted.
