It is said that during the Qing Dynasty, the poet Wang Hang from Qiantang visited this place and was reminded of the West Lake in his hometown. Thus, he wrote a poem depicting the scenery, which, although not famous, was titled 'Slender West Lake', giving the Slender West Lake in Yangzhou its name. 'During the misty, flowery March, one descends upon Yangzhou'... Hence, on one side there's the scenery, and on the other there are the people... Taking my parents out for a trip, I had to consider both their physical endurance and the desire to enjoy the sights. Therefore, I chose what I believe to be a pretty good route: 1. Since we were driving, I parked the car at the north gate of Slender West Lake. Compared to the south, east, and west gates, it's easier to find parking at the north gate. 2. After entering the north gate, I decisively bought tickets for the scenic area's sightseeing bus at 20 yuan per person. Since the northern route of the scenic area can be briefly toured, sitting on the sightseeing bus and enjoying the views on both sides is sufficient. 3. The sightseeing bus goes to 'Twenty-Four Bridge'. From there, you can slowly walk to the next few key southern attractions, such as Xichun Terrace, Wuting Bridge, White Pagoda, Fishing Terrace, Xu Garden, and Changdi Chunliu... For the above attractions, if there are many people, it's okay to just take a distant view, depending on everyone's physical strength and interest; 4. After exiting the south gate of Slender West Lake, directly take a taxi to 'Daming Temple' located near the north gate. After visiting Daming Temple, you can walk for about 5 minutes to reach the parking lot at the north gate of Slender West Lake. The one-day trip ends... Since my parents are getting on in years, we can't act like 'special forces', so it's important to balance work and rest.
