#Barony Castle Hotel Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Scotland | OMG the world's largest undulation
Today's OMG travel destination that we recommend is the Great Polish Map located on the border of Scotland. This should be the largest relief model in the world. This large physical terrain map, which is 40 meters long and 50 meters wide and sculpted with concrete, is definitely a unique feature in the Scottish landscape.

Scotland and Poland Map
Built between 1974 and 1979, this map meticulously depicts all the contours of the Scottish lowlands and highlands at a scale of 1:10,000. The map measures approximately 50 meters by 40 meters and is located in an elliptical pit surrounded by a 142-meter-long wall, making it the largest known 3D map in the world. What makes it particularly special is that the map is surrounded by a small stream, which forms lakes and streams as it flows into the map.
Historical anecdotes
Its origin in Scotland can be traced back to World War II. After the war, many Polish people were unable to return home due to Soviet takeover, and a large number of them decided to settle in Scotland. Among the many settlers was Sergeant Tomasik, who, through a combination of hard work and luck, saved enough money to purchase the dilapidated buildings in Edinburgh and transform them into a hotel. This is the origin of the Barony Castle Hotel, located on the map of Greater Poland.
