Changdeokgung's Secret Garden scenery
With the arrival of the fall, one of the places that many look forward to is Seoul's old palaces! »
As the scorching summer has finally come to an end, the tinting autumn colors of the palaces radiate as their beauty stands out even more through peace and serenity of the area!
While strolling throughout the palaces, you may get curious and come to imagine how palace life used to be.
The main five remaining Joseon Dynasty Palaces located in Seoul include Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Deoksugung Palace (Gyeongwungung), and Gyeonghuigung Palace (Gyeongdeokgung).
You also wouldn't want to miss out on
Changdeokgung's Secret Garden scenery from all of the palace locations, highly recommended for visits in the fall.
In 2024, I wish to visit this place again.

Palace famous for secret garden during autumn
Changdeokgung Secret Garden course -guided tour is required ,ticket can be purchased from its official website with allocated time slot.It is notorious for its unassuming beauty! Entrance of 10,000won would grant you access to all parts of the palace including the secret garden. It was a little dampening that the fall weather is somethings gloomy so the secret garden in my photo doesnt looks as alluring but the rest of areas are stunning especially the glass house looking which is known as the Great Glass House.( Looking like the crystal palace) This is actually the country’s first Victorian style greenhouse. Outside the greenhouse courtyard features a labyrinth style garden of neatly trimmed boxwood, that is so beautiful
The palace even though is smaller than gyeongbokgung it is still quite big imo that you require a few hours to fully immerse in it and walking the different areas!
Funfact: If you wear a hanbok you can enter the palace for free
Important notice: It is closed every Monday

I planned to visit Changdeokgung Palace early morning and I am happy I did. Early morning these sights are beautiful. Not yet crowded, you can admired it's architecture design and beautiful carvings. The pigeons on the ground were a plus. Lovely to them. I have spent a lot of hours here because I admired its intricate designs from the gates, to its roof tiles and to its buildings.

Changdeokgung Palace is a historical palace located in the heart of Seoul. It was built during the Joseon Dynasty and is considered one of the most well-preserved palaces in the country.
We had a guided tour to bring us around the vast palace complex, which includes numerous halls, gardens, and pavilions. The guide provided very informative guidance, which gave us a glimpse into Korean history and culture.

Changdeokgung Palace - Seoul, South Korea
The Changdeokgung Palace is located 30mins away by train from Seoul’s train station. It is one of the 5 Grand Palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty. The palace is quite expansive and gives a glimpse into the space that some of the royals from the Joseon dynasty lived in. There is a small entry fee into the palace complex. There is also a ‘Secret Garden’ which can be entered with a tour.

Catch some history at Changdeokgung
#tripblazers #seoul #urbanexplorer
Changdeok Palace is one of the five great palaces in Seoul. To get there, take exit 3 at Anguk station and after about a 5 minute walk you’ll start seeing signs for this amazing spot. A UNESCO world heritage site, you can see many beautifully painted palace buildings, but make sure to book early if you visit in autumn as tickets sell out quickly!
Secret Garden 🪴
Since Gyeongbokgung is too mainstream, let me bring you to Changdeokgung this time. Its not just a palace, they also have secret garden at the backyard. It is so big, beautiful and less people because most people go to the main palace only and didn't know about their garden. The normal entrance ticket is 3,000₩ but if you want to go to garden, you need to book online (which is usually sold out fast) because of limited slot. They also have separate entrance for the garden. So please read the map carefully. Recommend to go during autumn for more aesthetic photos.

The Changdeokgung Palace is one of the most well-preserved royal palaces from the Joseon Dynasty.

My favourite part of the whole palace was the Secre Garden. There are many beautiful and well-preserved pavilion so that you can take it slow and immerse yourself in the nature. The whole compound is huge. So do wear comfortable shoes to walk around and enjoy the beautiful garden here.
Autumn at Changdeokgung
As autumn is approaching it is time to view the change of colors of leaves across the city at some mesmerizing locations. Be sure to make a visit here during autumn, best time to view the colors in Seoul is end October till mid November.
Flowers 🌸 blending in with the serene Changdeokgung Palace.
You can see flowers in harmony with a serene palace at Changdeokgung Palace.
Did you know that Changdeokgung Palace, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also a famous spot to enjoy cherry blossoms? 🙂 The flowers that bloom with our palace, not only cherry blossoms but also forsythias, magnolias, and azaleas, make it even more charming.✨✨
Even without flowers, Changdeokgung Palace overflows with its own unique appeal. We highly recommend visiting at least once. :)

พระราชวังชางด๊อกกุง (Changdeokgung Palace)
Wow! I have never heard of this place. It's almost better than the grand palace. Great palace in Seoul. A real pleasant visit. Beautiful buildings. Less crowded. I would definitely recommend here. It also has a secret garden and another royal residence next door. So three places to visit.
This might be the best palace in Seoul. You have to go to the Secret Garden inside to fully experience the palace.

One day in Changdeokgung Palace
Dunhua Gate is a two-story gate and the entrance to Changdeokgung Palace. It used to be the palace before. When the It was the appearance of the year. The building is also very complete. As tourists are pouring into Gyeongbokgung Palace, it is quiet and comfortable.
Every time there is a punctuality, there will be a tour guide outside the door asking visitors to explain the story of each palace. Chinese tour guides will also have, but maybe one or two times a day. The first time I came was followed by an English tour guide. The tour guide would like visitors to introduce the role of each palace, history, celebrities.
Most of the Korean culture of that year was inherited from China. For Chinese tourists, even if they don't listen to the explanation, it is easy to understand the quaint palace from the appearance or the text.
Changdeokgung Secret Garden
#koreatrip This is THE most beautiful place I have ever seen. The garden is a separate ticket than Changdeokgung and is only available via guided tour, which is offered in many languages. It is my favorite place I visited in Seoul. The guide was very knowledgeable and light-hearted, and kept an enormous group moving on schedule. He made sure to recommend other places to see in Seoul and places to get lunch afterwards.

📝Korean Travelogue part8: Traditional Korean Song and Dance📝
🖼️🖼️🖼️🖼️
The last part of the night tour of Changdeokgung Palace, the traditional Korean performance at Myeongjeongjeon Hall, where each person received a traditional drink and a souvenir upon entry, super thoughtful.
📷📷📷📷
The entire show consisted of 5 programs, each of short duration. From the lion mask dance to the long sword dance, from pansori singing to the peacock feather fan dance, plus a segment of the king's love story in shadow puppetry form. It allows visitors to dabble in Korean culture before losing interest and attention. All the music was performed live, which, combined with the ambiance of the Secret Garden, felt amazing👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

📝Korea Travelogue part7: Night Tour of Changdeokgung Palace📝
🌑🌑🌑🌑
The night tour of Changdeokgung Palace was the part of my trip to Korea that I was most looking forward to, and it certainly did not disappoint. It became the highlight of my trip to Korea and left me with a unique and irreplaceable travel experience.
The night tour of Changdeokgung Palace is only open during the more suitable weather months of April to June and August to October, with only 100 spots available each day. For foreign tourists, the tour is only available on Sunday nights at 8 PM, so tickets usually need to be booked well in advance.
🖼️🖼️🖼️🖼️
If Changdeokgung Palace is a modern attraction by day, then at night, it truly feels like an ancient Korean royal palace. Upon arrival at the gate, you'll find a group of guards in traditional attire guarding the palace doors. Carrying lanterns through the gate, you wander along various paths not open during the day, encountering the king and queen admiring the moon by the lotus pond, court musicians playing the daegeum on a high platform, and palace maids playing the guzheng in a pavilion... The atmosphere is truly immersive.
🎞️🎞️🎞️🎞️
The entire journey starts at the Donhwamun Gate from the era of Gwanghaegun (the 15th king of Joseon), then crosses the Geumcheon Bridge built during the reign of Taejong (the 3rd king of Joseon), passes through the Injeonmun and Injeongmun to the main hall Injeongjeon. Then, exiting from the Injeongjeon's side through the Seonjeongmun, past the Heejeongdang, entering through the Changgyeongmun to the Yaksajeon from the era of Heonjong (the 24th king of Joseon). After passing the upper pavilion, you enter the Secret Garden to visit the Buyongji Pond and Juhapnu Pavilion. Then, you pass the Bulromun Gate built by Hyomyeong Seja for his father, King Sunjo (the 23rd king of Joseon). Next, you visit the Aeryeonjeong Pavilion and watch a traditional Korean performance at Yeonkyeongdang, finally returning to Donhwamun Gate through the forest path of the Secret Garden. Not a minute is wasted.

Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung, Jongmyo
Three ancient buildings that were originally connected have been divided into two parts by a road that was constructed during the occupation period.
Changdeokgung is second only to Gyeongbokgung in size, and for over two hundred years when Gyeongbokgung was destroyed, it served as the royal palace. It is now also a great spot for photography, with fewer people and scenery that is no less impressive.
Changgyeonggung has a lot of greenery, and it's very pleasant to take a stroll there.
