St Mark’s Square
#winhkflight
St Mark’s Square, also known as Piazza San Marco which was once famously called “The drawing room of Europe” and it is the largest piazza in Venice. At the square, you will able to see the beautiful surrounding galleries, St Mark’s Basilica and the Campanile or Bell Tower. You may even see a top of the Doge’s Palace. You can take a moment, find a restaurant and have some wine and small plates to enjoy the building, music and environment.

Venice in August is beautiful and lively
Seeing is believing, there are many people and boats, the weather is great and the scenery is pleasing, much better than the small canals spread on the internet. You can stay for one night, two nights, or three nights, it's all up to you.
Bus No. 5 runs between the airport and the city station every 20 minutes, you can buy tickets directly from the driver, pay in cash, one way is 10 euros, less than 30 minutes, super convenient.
It's best to just carry a backpack, don't drag a suitcase. There are steps and small bridges everywhere in the city, dragging a suitcase will exhaust you.
St Mark’s Square in VENICE
It is one of the most famous sights and largest spaces in Venice. A charming square surrounded by eateries (cafes, restaurants, gelato kiosks) where you will definitely be spoilt for choices.
The surrounding canals, churches and architecture is also beyond spectacular.
Address: Basilica San Marco, P.za San Marco, 328, 30100 Venezia VE, Italy

If we don't go, this city will disappear.
🛶Venice, the capital of the Veneto region in northern Italy. It is known as the "City of Water", "City of Canals", "City of a Hundred Islands", "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Light", "City of Bridges" and other beautiful names. Here, there is one of the most beautiful squares in the world, "St. Mark's Square", the Phoenix Opera House that rose from the ashes, the beautiful Grand Canal, the sighing bridge described by Xu Zhimo, breathtaking arcades, and some of the most beautiful scenes in master Antoniooni's films were shot here.
It's not an exaggeration to say that Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Wherever you go, you'll be amazed by the pure beauty of the city's architecture and exquisite art. It's as if the city has a life of its own, growing naturally rather than being built. Take a ride on the Venetian people's traditional transportation, the gondola, and slowly sway through the city's long and narrow waterways. It's incredibly relaxing.
🌈Venice attractions:
🌏St. Mark's Square: also known as the Venice Central Square, has always been the public activity center for politics, religion, and traditional festivals in Venice.
🌍St. Mark's Basilica: It is the resting place of St. Mark. It was once the largest church in medieval Europe and a classic work of Venetian architecture, as well as a treasure trove of rich art collections. The church follows the Byzantine style of architecture, with a Greek cross shape and five hemispherical domes. The most famous feature of the church is its golden mosaic facade, and the interior is also famous for its golden altar and mosaic decorations. In the sunlight, the entire church shines brightly, hence it is also known as the "Golden Church".
🌍St. Mark's Campanile: standing tall in St. Mark's Square, it is the tallest building in Venice. This bell tower, made of red bricks and standing at 98.6 meters, was built in the late 15th century. It is not only the longitudinal axis of the city of Venice, but also the center of the spatial composition of the square's buildings. Standing here and looking down from the top, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Venice and the lagoon, and even have a distant view of the beautiful Alps.
🌍Rialto Bridge: also known as the Commercial Bridge, was built in 1180. Originally a wooden bridge, it was later converted into a suspension bridge. During a celebration in 1444, the bridge collapsed due to overload. From 1580 to 1592, it was rebuilt into the current stone bridge. There is a floating pavilion on the top of the bridge, and more than 20 jewelry stores and souvenir stalls on both sides, making it one of the most important commercial areas in Venice. It was once the commercial center of Europe for 300 years and served as the background for Shakespeare's famous play "The Merchant of Venice".
🌍Academy Bridge: Built in 1932, it is the second bridge on the Grand Canal of Venice after the Rialto Bridge. Located at the southernmost end of the Grand Canal, it is named after the Academy of Fine Arts to the northwest. This is a wooden single-arch bridge, and standing on the Academy Bridge, you can overlook the beautiful Church of Santa Maria della Salute.
In recent years, with the rise of water levels, the old city of Venice has become increasingly precarious, and many people have abandoned it. Scientists predict that by 2100, Venice may be completely submerged and disappear from the ground.
St. Mark's Square Venice, Italy
St. Mark's Square is the landmark in Venice. It is one of the most unique squares in Europe. I love taking a stroll around here and chasing the pigeons. So relaxing. The nice musicians, cafes, architecture, Grand Canal, statue of the lion of San Marco spread its wings, statue of the sacred San Theodore accompanied by crocodiles. Everything was perfect.
Ambiance/Facilities: 10/10

Venice, I’m gondola miss you
Venice is one of Italy’s most picturesque cities. Beautiful floating palaces of stone surrounded by an ancient network of canals. Venice is one of the most popular Italian cities for tourists, even with all the other beautiful & historic places there are in Italy. There are basically no roads, transportation is accomplished via boats on a confusing network of canals. It’s truly unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before!
Here, we explored Saint Mark’s Square. Also called Piazza San Marco, it is Venice’s main public square, basically the social heart of the city. There are a bunch of famous landmarks here, like the Clock Tower, St. Mark’s Basilica. Then, the The Grand Canal, which is the most important channel running through the city. Many of these buildings can only be accessed by boat. We also visited the St. Mark's Basilica, the most famous of Venice’s churches and the cathedral of the Patriarchate of Venice. As a lavish and much-beloved symbol of Venetian history, it’s totally worth a stop.
Overall, Venice is worth visiting. Venice is an enchanting city that casts visitors under an intoxicating spell. It’s dreamy and romantic, with an undercurrent of mystery and drama. Venice is such a special place to the point that it almost doesn’t feel real. There's so much to see, and it’s so perfect.

PIAZZA THAT CHARMS 🇮🇹✈️
The most well-known square is St. Mark's Square.
This square is incredibly important to Venice and is an absolutely breathtaking place to visit. It is situated on the grand canal, across from the island of San Giorgio Maggiore.
A collection of elaborate structures with arched walkways surround the Piazza and perfectly frame it.
Additionally, the plaza is home to a number of significant structures, including the Torre dell'Orologio, the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's Campanile, and St. Mark's Basilica.
The best site to begin your tour of Venice and see some of its most magnificent sights is this Piazza, in my opinion.

My graduation trip in Europe! Bringing family around was super tiring as I needed to plan everything, however, I feel satisfied when they are happy! I tried my best to bring them to see as much as possible. I previously visited these places already and I feel they are worth to go again!
By the way, the road is pretty complicated in Venice! You need to spare more time in the morning if you have morning train to another city! We almost missed our train haha

The most romantic city in the world, you can't visit Italy without a stop in beautiful Venice. The cobblestone streets and stunning canals are straight out of a movie set and there is awe inspiring architecture on every corner. Head to St Mark's Square to enjoy live music and a coffee at one of the many outside tables. Have antipasti at sunset on a quiet corner of the city and make sure to sample gelato at one of the many tempting spots. The unforgettable canal rides are a fun tourist memory and we loved the tiny boutiques selling locally made glass souvenirs. The streets are all pedestrian friendly which makes it great for those traveling with kids. A great choice for couples or families looking to see a true slice of Italy.
St Mark’s square is surrounded by beautiful buildings with its italian architecture style! This is where most people usually visit in Venice, where you can find the most famous basilica as well #happynewyear #venicetrip

Water City Venice is one of the most desirable destinations for tourists. The busy land and water can not help but sigh the uniqueness of this city.

said that Venice is complicated by boat, but it is not at all! Essential Tips | Guide to a Day Trip in Venice, Italy
❗️Venice is a name that has resonated with me since childhood~ It's a magical place in Europe that I've always heard adults talk about, where everything is water~ There's no land~ Houses are built on the surface of the water!
😠Very curious! Finally got the chance to come here as an adult, wanting to see this city where there is no land and all life is on the water.
Arrived in Venice. 📑Pure essential tips sharing.
Venice has always been known as the 'City of Water'. The city has a total of 177 canals, connected by 401 bridges of various designs.
(Mission Impossible has even filmed scenes here.)
✅Getting on the island:
I recommend buying a day pass, as Venice's water public transport is operated by the ACTV company, and I find the transportation costs a bit expensive, with a single ticket costing 9.5 euros.
You can buy tickets from machines at the stations, which is convenient.
✅Attraction Introduction
Water taxis, you can experience a gondola ride here, where the gondolier rows you around. (The prices are also very transparent)
The gondoliers in Venice are more handsome than the next, and even though the weather is cold, seeing a handsome guy makes you feel incredibly happy. My heart is on fire.
PS‼️(In photos 456 behind me, that bridge, when you walk over it, make sure to keep a close eye on your belongings, just a short bridge, you know, personal and property safety comes first.)
Went to St. Mark's Square on the off-island, ⛪️ just in time for the bell ringing, the sound echoing over the square is the 'sound of freedom'.
There are many shops and markets around the square. 🎉Very lively.
✅Attraction Photography
Venice is also very photogenic, whether you're sitting on a gondola taking photos🤳 or in St. Mark's Square.
👍Take a stroll through the Rialto Market, experience the local life and culture of the locals, it has a unique charm.

Pre-Trip Preparation:

Accommodation:
Book a hotel or Airbnb in central areas like San Marco or Castello for easy access to the main attractions. Accommodation fees range from €100-€200 per night for mid-range options.
👉 Book a hotel in Venice
Route Planning & Scenic Spots:
Day 1: Begin exploration with Piazza San Marco, then visit St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace. Enjoy a gondola ride through the canals.
Day 2: Explore the Rialto Market and Bridge in the morning. Spend the afternoon in the artistic neighborhood of Dorsoduro. Visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
Day 3: Take a vaporetto (water bus) to the islands of Murano and Burano, famous for glass-making and colorful houses.
Tickets & Booking:
Book major attraction tickets online in advance to avoid long queues. A 48-hour Vaporetto pass, costing around €30 can be cost-effective for island hopping.

Venice | The European living room is still worth seeing
If you come to Venice for a tour, there are three highlights, the Grand Canal, the gondola, and this St. Mark's Square. It may be the most beautiful square in Europe. When Napoleon's government was here, it was said so.
📌Attraction name: St. Mark's Square
📍Location: Venice, Italy
💰Ticket: Free
🌟Highlights:
👉St. Mark's Square has always been the political, religious and festival center of Venice in history. During the day, there are many pigeons on the square, and tourists can feed and take pictures here. There are many cafes and restaurants around the square, where you can choose to enjoy the food.
👉In St. Mark's Square, you can also visit St. Mark's Cathedral, the bell tower, these buildings were built at the time close to the Chinese Song Dynasty. Especially this cathedral is Byzantine style, it looks very similar to the Hagia Sophia in Turkey, the style of the onion head. The bell tower next to it is very high, you can spend 6 euros to go up and overlook the panorama of the water city. These attractions all have a long history and unique architectural style.
👉In addition to the church, there is also the governor's office, museum, and a row of outdoor cafes. This is the best place for tourists to rest, with live violin performances and first-class service. There are also many shops, boutiques, people coming and going on the square, and many pigeons. The key security is also very good. (Much stronger than Milan Cathedral.) The noteworthy Bridge of Sighs is also nearby, and these two attractions can be visited together. There are also many gondola stops nearby, and there are opportunities for discounts later.
🚇Transportation: You can take a water bus or boat to St. Mark's Square.
🏠Accommodation: There are many hotels and homestays around the square, but the prices are relatively expensive. The slightly better ones are all over 1,000 RMB.
🌈In short, St. Mark's Square is a place worth visiting, and it is very recognizable compared to the squares in other European cities.

Visit the water city in your mind.
Venice, the water city, is a place that most people are familiar with. It was mentioned in our textbooks when we were young. Every year, it attracts a large number of tourists from China and abroad. Let's take a look at the top ten best attractions in Venice.
Today we took a boat to the beautiful city of Venice. Venice is the only water city in the world, where every house is built on water and people live on water. Even the prison is a water prison. The people of Venice travel by a small boat called a "gondola", which is black and shaped like a Chinese dragon boat. The two ends of the boat are raised, but the Chinese dragon boat has a raised head at one end.
We first visited the world-famous handmade glass factory in Venice and watched the process of workers making glass products by hand. We also took a ride on a gondola and walked through the streets and alleys of Venice, enjoying the beautiful scenery.
The busiest place in the water city of Venice is St. Mark's Square. The tide rises in the square at night and slowly recedes in the morning. We went in the morning and could still see the traces of the receding tide. There are many pigeons in the square, they are very enthusiastic and desperately try to land on the tourists. Today is really a happy and joyful day.
Venice: Looking for Mr. Wolverine who poles a gondola on the river.
It is said that Venice is famous all over the world, and it is indeed beautiful. The uniqueness and romance of the water city cannot be replicated by other cities. However, it is also really crowded, and there are always a lot of people. It can only be said that it is worth visiting once in a lifetime, but once is enough.
📷📷📷
Two things that I personally think are a must-experience -
First, take a boat ride on the Grand Canal. The buildings on both sides are the most worth photographing, with over a hundred different churches, bell towers, monasteries, and palaces. The best way to enjoy it is to go with the flow, taking your time to appreciate and capture the scenery.
Second, take some photos at St. Mark's Square, which is the central square of Venice. The magnificent and beautiful St. Mark's Church and the Doge's Palace are worth seeing. The oil paintings and sculptures inside are extremely exquisite, and it is said to be the former residence of the Venetian Doge. There are also many excellent street artists and beautiful foreign guests on the square. Pressing the shutter button at random is a scenery.
🚤🚤🚤
tips:
1. Be sure to buy a multi-day boat ticket, sit anytime, and go anywhere. Don't think about walking, it will really tire you out.
2. It is recommended to stay on Lido Island, where there are fewer people and less commercial atmosphere, everything is very cheap, and there are many trips to the main island by boat.
3. Don't miss the Cuttlefish pasta in Venice, and the various seafood options are also good.
World Heritage Site - Enjoy a leisurely boat ride in the water city of Venice.
Venice is a famous tourist and industrial city in northeastern Italy. Its architecture, painting, sculpture, opera, and other aspects have extremely important status and influence in the world. Venice is "born from water, beautiful because of water, and thriving because of water", enjoying the reputation of "world water city".
Venice's charm is inseparable from water, winding waterways, flowing clear waves, 118 islands interwoven by 150 canals, forming more than 400 bridges on the islands of Venice. Her beauty is composed of water and bridges, and she is the only city in the world without cars.
Venice, the city of water, has numerous ancient monuments and special beautiful scenery in every street and alley, attracting thousands of tourists to come here. There are more than 120 churches of various sizes, including Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, etc. In addition, there are clock towers, male and female monasteries, various palaces built along the water, and they are adjacent to each other across the river, making it very unique.
Venice's main attractions include the Phoenix Opera House, which was destroyed by fire and reborn, the melancholic Sighs Bridge described by Xu Zhimo, Renaissance and Baroque-style architecture, one of the most beautiful squares in the world - St. Mark's Square, and charming arcades, among others.
Enjoy a boat ride in Venice and feel its beauty, romance, and warmth.
The most joyful part of the trip to Europe should be Venice. After continuous rainy weather, Venice gave us a great sunny day, so everyone's mood is very sunny.
Venice Water City is the essence of the Renaissance. The only city in the world that does not have a car. God shed tears here, but makes it more crystal and tender, just like a romantic dream floating on the blue waves.
Venice has the reputation of being born of water, beautiful by water, and thriving by water, enjoying Water City, Water City, Hundred Island City, Queen of the Adriatic Sea, Bridge City "Welcome to the United States.
Venice's style is inseparable from the "water", the watery alley, the flowing waves, it seems like a romantic dream floating on the blue waves, poetry and painting for a long time lingering. The history of
Venice began in 453 AD; at that time, the peasants and fishermen of Venice were escaping the nomads of the Adriatic Sea in order to escape the nomads of the cool knives. Venice looks like a dolphin. The city covers an area of less than 7.8 square kilometers, but it consists of 118 small islands, and 177 canal spiders are densely covered.
St. Mark's Square has been the public activity center of Venice's political, religious and traditional festivals since ancient times. As early as more than two hundred years ago, the genius military Napoleon called it "the most beautiful living room in the world" and " The most beautiful square." American writer and artist Smith wrote in "The Venice of Today": "There is only one square in the world, and it is located in front of the Church of St. Mark today." This is probably the
St. Mark's Square. The highest compliment ~
