- Wat Chaeng Siri Samphan was built in 1817 by Phra Nonthaburi (Muang), the governor of Nonthaburi. Originally named Wat Chaeng, Lieutenant General Phraya Samoson Sanphakan (That Siri Samphan), the temple's grandson, oversaw the restoration of various permanent structures, including the ubosot (ordination hall), viharn (viharn), sermon hall, and monks' quarters. The temple was renamed "Wat Chaeng Siri Samphan," adding the restorer's surname to the original name as a tribute and memorial. The temple received the Royal Charter on February 7, 1989.
