Tenerife, Spain: A cool and awesome island trip
==================================
Tenerife, Spain: A cool and awesome island trip✨🌍Dear friends, today I want to share a unique travel experience - Tenerife, Spain. This place is simply another planet! It makes people want to explore every corner.
Highlights of the trip✨
Our first stop is Teide Peak of Mirador de Azulejos II. This dormant volcano is the highest peak in Spain, and its spectacular scenery makes us feel like we are in a movie scene. That feeling can only be described as 'wow~'.
Then, we followed the winding mountain road to Los Gigantes cliffs. Standing on the viewing platform on the cliff, you will be shocked by the spectacular scenery in front of you. Only when you see it with your own eyes can you experience that feeling.
Next, we came to the mysterious Masca valley and Masca village. This village located in the deep valley between steep cliffs has a unique atmosphere of isolation from the world. It's like stepping into another world.
In order to appreciate the beauty of sunrise and sunset, we went to Mirador de Esperanza. Standing there, watching the sun rise or fall slowly, it feels like time has stopped.
Then, we visited the unique natural arch of Arco de Tajao stone arch. Standing underneath, you will feel the magic and endless power of nature.
There is also a very special 'Drago Siete Fuentes' dragon tree. Although you have to pay to enter, its uniqueness and vitality are shocking.
Finally, we went to Zapatilla de la Reina or Queen’s shoe. This is one of the beautiful rock formations in Teide National Park, where you can see the lava terrain. Walking through here, it's like being in a magical world.
Travel tips📌
Generally speaking, airfare, accommodation, meals and transportation costs need to be considered. In addition, some attractions may require tickets or guide fees. It is recommended to plan reasonably according to personal budget and plan!
In general, the travel experience in Tenerife is full of surprises and touches. Every scene makes people linger, as if they are in a dreamlike world. If you are looking for a unique travel destination, then Tenerife is definitely a choice worth considering!✨🌍

Wow! Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife
Puerto de la Cruz is one of the famous destinations in Tenerife and the Canary Islands. Located in the north of Tenerife, it's an attractive and bustling town, especially in summer. It's located in Orotava Valley, with volcanic mountains and green landscape. 🌄
There is a small harbour and the seafood is very fresh and tasty. You can find local restaurants with great food options! 🐟 The town and beach is also nice for a walk during sunset time, very romantic!
🚗 If you're not looking for a hotel staycation, I recommend to rent a car to explore the town and also the region around it.

Palmetum Santa Cruz Jardin Botanico Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Excelent experience!
Even if you don't, actually the Palmetum in Santa Cruz was just pure awesome. We absolutely loved seeing the exotic plants and flowers from all over the world, ranging from Brazil to India, to the Canary Islands, to Morocco, Madagascar, Australia, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, etc. etc. Simply splendid. And just so cool, literally! It was 34C° when we were there and the lovely trees provided a lot of natural shade for us to cool down too.
Honestly, words can't really describe the colors, the patterns, the styles, so in essence, the diversity of the flowers and plants on display. Just go see it for yourself. Must-see 5/5

The palm garden of Santa Cruz
There was a heavy rain last night, and it cooled down a lot this morning. Riding along the coastline, the deep gray clouds were low in the sky, dyeing the sea gray as well. Only in the distance, the sunlight was powerfully shining on the sea surface through the gaps in the clouds, forming a few dazzling whites. I wore all my clothes, but I still felt chilly!
The palm garden of Santa Cruz was a landfill in the 1970s. When we walked on the road in the garden, admiring the tall and burly trees around, it was hard to believe that there was garbage buried up to 50 meters deep under our feet! The botanical garden has more than 3100 kinds of plants, is the largest palm garden in Europe, and is the botanical garden with the most complete display of fan palms, silver leaf palms and Cuban fan flowers in the world. The most noteworthy of these is the globally rare plant 'suicide palm tree'. Its leaves can reach 5 meters long, which is the largest leaf of flowering plants found so far. The pistil is in the shape of a huge pyramid, 5 to 7 meters high, and the satellite can see this tree. It blooms once every 30 to 80 years, and blooming represents the end of its long life. After the palm tree reaches its peak, thousands of small flowers will bloom at the top, forming a huge flower cluster, and each flower can bear fruit after pollination. Once the flowers and fruits are bloomed, the nutrients stored in the tree will be exhausted, and a few months later, the palm tree and the fruit will collapse and die.
Figure 2: Park soil structure diagram
Figure 5: Suicide palm tree. The tourist next to it is 1.9m tall, guess how tall the tree is?!!! This tree is much smaller than usual, probably because it grows by the sea and is affected by strong light and wind. The last time other trees in the garden bloomed was in December 2021
Figure 6: Traveler's Tree, a very interesting name! It can grow to about 10 meters high.
Figures 10 and 11: Sugarcane! This is the first time I have seen such a huge sugarcane tree and its flowers, I thought it was a banana tree at first.
Figure 12: In a few seconds, the restaurant staff poured down so much rainwater from the roof
Figure 13: Delicious vegetarian pancakes from a Filipino restaurant
Palm Garden Ticket: €6/person
Stunning views over Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Great views and a great place for a walk. the pricing is a little too high to enter so I think they should lower their prices slightly. The cafe wasn't open which was a little bit of a disappointment but the walk around the park was great! You can buy joint tickets with the huge swimming pools next door which look amazing so if you come to santa cruz for a couple days I would recommend buying the twin ticket!

Canary Island - my favourite place.
The Canary Islands are a captivating archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa, known for their year-round pleasant climate, stunning volcanic landscapes, and pristine beaches.
Among the many attractions, Loro Park stands out as a must-visit destination! Located in Tenerife, Loro Park is a world-class animal and conservation park that mesmerizes visitors with its diverse collection of wildlife, thrilling shows, and beautiful botanical gardens, making it an unforgettable experience for nature lovers of all ages.
We loved it so much that we watched the Orco show twice!
Green hills speak of parting in new words
On the last day of our trip, we planned a long hiking route, determined to take one last vigorous walk. The route is 13 kilometers long, and if you discount the beginning and end, the middle section is almost a flat path laid out halfway up the mountain, then it descends to the beach, and finally enters a valley before climbing back up to the starting point, which is quite strenuous. This route is quite famous, not only because you can enjoy both sea and mountain views along the way, but also because the path is not too difficult, resulting in a higher number of visitors (compared to being completely deserted)! While playing on the beach, we didn't notice that the originally clear sky had stealthily filled with dark clouds, quietly pressing in from behind. We hurried on our way, but it was too late, and the raindrops pitter-pattered from sparse to dense, and in just about ten minutes, several mountain paths had turned into streams. Wearing soaked clothes and shivering from the cold, I comforted myself: This isn't rain, it's just heaven not wanting to let us go tomorrow, crying a storm! With that thought, I didn't feel so unlucky anymore.
Overall, the scenery of the Canary Islands can be very beautiful, but there are also many places that are truly ugly! Banana houses covered with plastic tarps everywhere, haphazardly constructed buildings, and nearly bare mountain ranges... Staying for two or three months is fine, but any longer would feel confining and oppressive! After all, an island is an island, and once you've seen it all, there's nowhere else to go! Of course, we would still like to come again, to properly walk all the paths of the island, because, after all, its beauty is intoxicating!
Canary Islands
White-sand beaches, rugged mountains, luxury resorts, island adventures
Off the coast of northwestern Africa are a delightful chain of islands that should be on every sun-seeker's to-do list. The Canary Islands are all a bit different from one another, allowing the intrepid traveler to have four or even five (or more), experiences in one trip.
The Canary Islands are especially known for their beaches. Stunning white-sand beaches washed by crystal-clear waters are among the best beaches in Spain. Many people come here to stay at the multitude of luxury resorts that line the waterfront, and rarely venture off the property.
Those that have a taste for adventure will find towering volcanoes, stunning hiking trails, towering pine forests, and authentic old towns dating back to the time of Christopher Columbus.
Some of the most popular islands are Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. Each of these offers its own unique experience and landscape.
