There was a power outage in Tekapo, so we were forced to move to this small town. Fortunately, we came across a motel that had just opened and the sanitary environment was very good. The tableware is very complete, you can cook your own meals, and it's not far from the supermarket, about 20 minutes' walk. If you need to wash clothes, there is also a washing and drying machine.

The manager Sourab was very welcoming helpful and generous. He had helpful information about the town and eateries, was very kind to allow us access to a clothes drier as the motel one was having issues and generously went over and above his role to help us.. the motel was comfortable and clean close to town and the local pools and golf course, we have been here twice now and would highly recommend it. The restaurant next door also provides breakfast until 10am and midday and evening meals, the quality is good and fairly priced.

I have given 5 stars to this motel for the service, cleanliness and amenities because each aspect of these beat my expectations! I am usually very conservative in giving reviews. Initially I was expecting very basic service given it is a motel. But when I opened the door of the room I was quite surprised. You could feel the room is very clean and bright. The amenities are sufficient to make a simple meal for yourself. There is also daily housekeeping services as well (given it is a motel). The staff at the reception are also very helpful. When I first arrived, the reception lady asked me where I planned to go and showed me the ways. The motel is also close (5-10 minutes walk) to the Main Street at Riccarton and there are a lot of restaurants there. You can also take bus to the city centre which takes about 30 minutes including waiting. The motel is also very close to the Christchurch railway station which is only 10 minutes walk, great if you are taking the scenic trains. There are also a number of shops near the Railway station and you can do some shopping for clothes, vitamins and fresh food too!

Stayed there with family (2 adults + 3 kids). The apartment was se ton two levels, which was absolutely perfect - kids at the top floor (just up the stairs with a curtains as a wall). Specious with decent size lounge to relax , and small kitchen. We only had breakfast there and it was great with everything you need for it. Walking distance from a city centre (yes, even with kids it was not far at all), and nearby Hagley Park was great for a morning run. There are laundry facilities, bit dated, but again - did the job. Unfortunately kids didn't get to use the pool as it was closed (had cover on), but again - it wasn't a big deal for us as got other stuff planned anyway. Would highly recommend it!

Wow. Thought everything looked okay, until i had a proper look, apon arrival staff were not easily accessible and no where to be seen. Looking further into the room first off and the most important to note the curtains along with the windows were moldy!!!!! And had yellow stains on them! In the kitchen nothing matched not the cutlery cups etc along with sugar salt + pepper being in werid different containers. The shower still had bits of hair in it from the previous person, the roof was dirty and the door had a big dirty brown discoloured patch on it. While showering i also noticed that all three vents/ fans in the bathroom were full of dust, and the place i can see definitely needs a deep clean and vacuum!! Sadly that was not all. I know that its a little cheaper than other places but i still expect a high level of cleanliness especially as I’m paying to feel comfortable and stay here. The only really good things i have to say is the room, kitchen and bathroom are a good size, the owner i assume was nice when i saw them, there is free wifi and parking and the room was quite warm overnight. Personally wouldn’t stay again if i could help it

Booked this hotel through *****. Everything is entered in the formal booking process for two adults and three children. After deducting the ***** member discount coupon, get a quote. After filling in the credit card, confirm the order. Receive a confirmed order, showing that the number of occupants is two adults and three children. The hotel also sent a confirmation. Everything seemed normal. Until three days before check-in, the credit card was drawn in full. After the reservation could not be cancelled, the hotel sent a threatening message saying that the price did not include three children. You must pay more than 100 knives, otherwise you will not stay! ! More outrageous, after complaining to *****, ***** contacted the hotel and got a reply that the price included 4 adults, and the fifth adult must pay more than 100 knives! ? ? The reason given by the hotel is completely inconsistent! ! And this extra request of more than 100 knives, presumably even ***** discounts want to get a whole, super disgusting! ! In the hotel's official website or *****, there is no mention of this price increase at all, it is a random price increase! ! The most afraid of traveling is to encounter this threat! ! Expressed an outcry to ***** and asked for cancellation of the reservation and a full refund. The hotel was delayed to reply until a few hours before the check-in day and said that it was too deceitful to check in without a price increase? ! What I asked for is a full refund for the cancellation of the reservation! ! Traveling with three children and it is possible to arrive very late. When encountering this kind of **, do you still risk sleeping on the street and not book other hotels quickly? At present, this ** refused to refund on the grounds of Cancellation Policy, saying that he did not come to live, did not give refunds or something, cheating! ! It is obvious that this Cancellation Policy is used to cheat! ! And ***** can't help anything! ! All evidence is collected and ready to complain and report this ** to the relevant departments. If you have victims like me, remember to report this hotel! ! They must not continue to threaten passengers with this means!

Manager very efficient @ helpful. Could walk to city thru park. The other way to shops @ Westfields. Rooms all facilities, no frills. Just as advertised, no surprises. Bit of noise in front rooms while very quiet at back. $40 taxi to airport roomy parking area

We were recommended to stay, by friends, and we were not disappointed. Very clean, tidy, cosy unit for an overnight stay on our way to Christchurch. Friendly hosts, Shirley and Morgan, and our unit 12, Studio unit had everything we needed. Quiet from highway noise. You do hear the 2 trains but we love hearing them. Loved the fact that we could go out the gate at the end of the property and walk onto the beautiful, pounding surf beach. Sunrise the next morning, with snow on the mountains, was stunning. We will be back.

A big Thank you to Sue and David for an excellent comfortable 3 night stay at Rosewood Court. Very friendly hosts and everything was spotless and very comfortable. We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived. Sue helped us use the onsite laundry facilities. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and loved the spa bath at the end of the day sightseeing. Nearby shops and takeaways very good too. Thank you again Best Wishes Trish & Karen

They are all square, so there is no noise from upstairs. Clean and hygienic. Used the kitchen. There is a gas station and hotel next to the town center and a large supermarket. We went fishing at High Country B salmon nearby. Reservations are required in advance. You can also purchase and watch others fishing every time you make an appointment. It takes 1 hour to go to Mount Cook from here. Check in 2pm, check out 10am

The hotel is centrally located, not very expensive at price - it also corresponds to quality. The reception times are very unfavorable and are not respected. As we were following the CHC only in the afternoon, we wanted to leave the baggage at the hotel. In the early evening we asked when and whether we could deliver the baggage. The early time (from the motel view) is to wait for the opening of the reception at 9:30. On the check-out day we waited just half ten before the reception and we found that the reception was still closed and the staff were not even entered the building.. We have to wait before closed doors until 09:45. When we (And the employees!) were finally entered, we could only deliver under baggage in half an hour... thus we are swept the remaining time in CHC.. We wouldn't come here anymore!

This motel must have been built about ten years ago with no investment since. Beds are reasonable and the bare essentials are here. Staff are friendly and helpful. However motel now looks tired and worn with the occasional thing that requires maintenance (pop up plug in bathroom no longer works, blinds in bedroom do not seal properly etc). For $240/night I would have expected better quality.

This is a modern, clean motel. The unit as stayed in (1 bed) was a decent size with a lovely bathroom and almost all the amenities you would expect. The king bed was nice and comfortable, the sofa was also. Everything looked like new. The only let down for me was that I would not stay in the 1 bedroom until again. I'd rather stay in a studio.. why?? Because there is no TV in the bedroom... This was the only letdown because I love nothing more than getting into the lovely bed and watching the TV. The main TV was a decent Samsung smart with Freeview but is connected to the internet so you can stream YouTube and Netflix. You can also mirror view your phone. To sit in bed a stream Netflix would have been awesome! Apart from that, a great place with decent rates. This place operates self check in/out, which I enjoy.

We needed accommodation close to the Hospital and it was only 10 minutes walk through Hagley Park so location wise it was great. The had self check in but I could not log in so had to wait until we could find someone, this problem was not theirs as it was the booking agent. As guest have no contact with staff any problems that you find can not be passed on to staff, our unit had a bathroom heater that didn't work. There were a few issues that may cause problems, the bed seems to be on wheels and rolled around the room if you sat up against the wall and the shower rose was about chest height. Overall the place was acceptable.

Just by the road, not far from the airport. Check-in is simple, just report the name, free parking, good front desk service, delivered a box of milk, recommended a good local western restaurant, not too far from the western restaurant, supermarket, the supermarket is near the Chinese district, but the supermarket is 19 o’clock It closes around. The room is not big, there is no closet, there is not much place to put clothes, it is clean, there are cooking, bath supplies, towels, no slippers, coffee, shower nozzles are not very watery

We had spent the previous night in Lake Tekapo at a dreadful place (Tekapo1929 Lake Front Villa). Arriving at Settlers was a relief and an absolute delight. We were welcomed by a couple who are caretaking for the motel owners at present. They were friendly, welcoming, warm and hospitable. Our rooms (we booked one for us and one for our children) were perfect. Clean, tidy, and comfortable with beautiful decor. My partner and I even got upgraded! The smallest details often make a huge difference. Umbrella's beside every guest room door. Air freshener, plasters (band aids) and a jar of bath salts in the bathroom. Chocolates on our beds resting on mini pinecones. The grounds are very tidy and well manicured. All of this within a very short walk to the hot springs, bars and restaurants. We paid $348 for 1 night for 2 x rooms. Excellent value for money. Will definately stay here on any return trip to Hanmer.

This has to be one of our favourite motels in NZ. It is modern and very well located. The sun streams in all day (when available!). The host has upgraded us to a three bedroom unit the last two times we have stayed. Very spacious with a wet floor shower, super comfortable bed and excellent heating. It is only a 400M walk to the hot pools and is close to restaurants and cafes. The unit has a well equipped kitchen. We will stay again.
