Because the hotel I know you for many years and they received me as a customer I've been, they gave us The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. You are a bad fall. The room they gave us was not out hot water and the separate breakfast was for me very expensive 18 e. So I chose to go down one day. I said they were 9 and it wasn't the way. The hotel is very good, but we took time not to go, but I think we'll stop going again, because intermediaries are inefficient, and they'll see who they're picking up to the tontin

I have not skied for a few years dues to covid and illness. So I decided to go for a cheaper ski holiday, to ease back into it. This hotel has surprised me pleasantly. It is better than expected. It definately kicks above a 3-Star hotel. It is professionally run. The welcome from the staff was warm and friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. The walk-in power shower was very welcome. As was the flat screen TV with international channels. Being on a half-board basis, I was impressed with how professional the kitchen was run. The standard of the food is very good with different dishes on offer, on a buffet basis. This made me over-eat, so this not the place for you, if you are on a diet. Now, the negatives: This hotel caters for the school-holiday market. In the evening the school kids can make a loud racket. But I actually found this added to the atmosphere, hearing lots of laughter and banter. It dies off after 10pm. The walls of the rooms are wafer thin. I could hear every word spoken by the room next to mine. I could have joined their conversation, if I wanted to. The ski bus stop is a few hundred metres away and the buses do not follow a timetable. The bus service is a bit hit and miss, which a pain when you have all of your ski-gear with you. Walking to the gondola is uphill and will take around 20 minutes with your ski-gear. Not easy and not good. Despite the above, I found my stay was very comfortable. If you are on a budget but expect a high standard, this is a fine choice of hotel.
Hotel Màgic Ski

Hotel was generally adequate, rooms were clean and functional, good access to the ski lift. 2 main issues- 1. Other guests, almost every night there was late drunken shouting and singing in the open foyer that connects every level of the accommodation area. Doors slamming and people banging on other doors with shouting and singing at 2am was not pleasant! 5 out of our seven nights this occurred, when mentioned at reception they said they hadn’t heard anything and we were to phone when it happened. We could never predict when it would happen or for how long. The worst night was over 2 hrs of random interruptions of sleep. 2. The food, breakfast was generally good. The evening meal though, the best I can say is that it was calories! Depending on what time you got to the buffet you would regularly have to ask the staff to replenish the service dishes. They would happily leave a small amount of drying chicken out waiting for someone to take that last desiccated piece rather than refilling earlier. Vegetarian options were limited as it seemed to be that most of the vegetable dishes had bacon or some other meat added. Desserts were good and varied.

Amazing location for the slopes - there is direct access to the gondola from the hotel and lockers to store your ski gear. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good bar/restaurant attached. Nice, clean kitchen in the basement and a chill out area on the top floor. We were a family of 4 and stayed in a quad room with a private bathroom. We liked the room - it had good soundproofing so no disturbance at night, comfy beds and lovely hot showers. Would definitely recommend and definitely stay again.
Ushuaia, the Mountain Hotel
4.3/528 Reviews
The Ushuaia hotel was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean with a great selection of really good food from the buffet which was different each night. The only minor irritation with the hotel was the bar staff who, all though were fantastic, the service was very slow at busy times. Free ski lockers were provided in the hotel & it was only 1 minute to the lift. I would highly recommend the hotel but a have a few warnings if you are skiing with beginners: If you are booking this is a ”ski in” hotel, beginners will struggle to get down the Blue run to the hotel. I have skied for 30 years & would say that it was a difficult blue & you would have to come down on the chair. I have seen many comments saying Arinsal is a great place for beginners. I totally disagree. There is only one nursery slope, & I appreciate that it was half term, but it was heaving. Beginners we spoke to were bored as the queue wasn't worth 15 seconds of skiing before re-joining the long queue. There is a Green marked on the piste map but even a ski guide said it's really a blue. Pal next door has much better beginner facilities. However, as a beginner to get to the nursery slopes in Pal, you would need to travel on the bus, but only for about 8 minutes. There is a cable car from the top of Arinsal across to Pal, but you would need to ski down Blue's to get to the nursery slopes. Getting back to Arinsal, by the Free Bus or the L5 service, on the day we tried, as my wife is not a confident skier, included an hour wait at the bus stop in Pal as information on times is sketchy at best. Both services do take you back to the Ushuaia though. Intermediate skiers would find the amount of ski school trains in your way annoying. Yes everyone has to learn but, there are simply too many instructors & some classes were 14 strong so you are picking your way around them. I must mention the cleanliness of all facilities on the mountain as they were brilliant. Lunchtime eating was priced reasonably as well in both Arinsal & Pal. Would I go back to the Ushuaia, definitely Would I go back to ski in Arinsal, maybe Would I go back to ski in Pal, yes

I really liked the hotel. Friendly and pleasant staff. Very nice and clean. We were pleased with our stay. The hotel is not in the center, but this is not a minus, since the funicular is within walking distance. Those looking for shopping will need to go to the center by car or bus. The bus routes are very convenient and getting there is not a problem.

I know that a review has to be balanced, and therefore it is probably best to start with the positives. The hotel location is spectacular, the swimming pool is decent and the grounds are well kept. Upon arrival, the reception staff were friendly and helpful. After that, there are huge problems with the hotel. The room is tired looking, with a slight musty smell and decor in need of an upgrade. The bed is an old wooden number that has seen better days and creaks like a pirates galleon. The room is boiling hot, with no functional air control. It has, thus far, been one of the worst nights sleep of my life. However, the main thing to avoid is the restaurant. For dinner, the kitchen serves a grand total of 5 dishes - 3 starters and 2 mains (pork and salmon - vegans should count themselves lucky not to be catered for). For starter, I had a ‘focaccia’ that was essentially a thick, tasteless doorstop bread of the type my bad grammar school used to serve to keep us sedated. This was covered in a layer of greasy cheese-adjacent substance and what could generously be described as ‘ham’. My wife had a goats (‘gods’ according to the menu, though what kind of benevolent deity would have inflicted this meal upon His children remains to be seen) cheese parcel. The parcel was about as well received as an Amazon Prime delivery that has been booted over next door’s fence. Onto the main, and the ‘pork’ was fatty and undercooked, served with a few slices of poorly fried potato that seemed to subliminally scream the word ‘sorry’. My wife’s salmon was an insult to a fishes’ memory - slimy and unappealing, tossed carelessly on some tired lettuce and a few beetroot cubes. The price of €25 per person may have been reasonable if that was the amount we were being paid to eat it. The most ridiculous part of the evening though was the service. About 10 waiters hovered around the dining room, a number that seems high until you realise that a separate team member performs each task. Drinks and bread was one waitress. Ordering food was a waiter. Delivery of the starter was another waiter. Another waitress collected the plates. Another brought the cutlery for the main. Another brought the main. Another dressed in a full bomb disposal suit delivered the bill. After a while it becomes obvious that it is a strategy to diminish responsibility through collectivisation - it’s like a philosophical conundrum- if a crap meal is served but no one actually served it, did it really happen? Unfortunately for us, the answer is yes, and I still have ten hours trying to sleep in this unbearable inferno. On this occasion, rather than ‘gods’ cheese, I suspect that both the meal and the room have been designed by the other guy…

We are small family travelling a lot. This was our biggest dissappoitment in terms of accomodation and I promise we are not picky. We dont need luxury accomodation but this was huge dissapoitment. Please read if you travel with kids. Also they are rennovating now and its messy and noisy what somebody might find unplessant. We have choosen this hotel because it offered children playground and softplay and also it looked like it has outdoor sitting area right next to the playground. None of this was available for us during our stay. First of all , while doing checkin ,the receptionist told us very clearly that indoor softplay isnt open. This dissappointed our 4 years old daughter. She was crying when we told her what receptionist said. The receptionist also said “but you can go to playground” and she pointed to outdoor playground on the map of area. Relieved we said ,ok that will do. We took our daughter there on that day and we been said by another member of staff in the TOC restaurant that “ No it isnt open” . apparently it was opened only for some birthday party and he also told us it isnt going to be open next day either. At that point i must say i was thinking about check out and go to find different place but we decided to manage and find some alternative plan how to entartain her. After couple of days I went to reception to ask about another matter and meanwhile I mentioned how dissapointed I was with no kids activities and I been told that softplay was actually open! So apparently previous receptionist gave me wrong information. That should not be happening. Not in “family friendly 4* hotel. Too bad. She also told me to go to outdoor playground apparently it was also opened that day but what a joke as it was heavy raining that day. Another bad experience was that my husband ordered himself packed breakfast for following morning as he went for sport event and they said of course ,told him to come to collect it at reception. To his bad surprise there was nothing for him next day morning. We asked then refund of money which they did. But come on - this should have not happened either in 4* hotel. He went to his sport event and had to stop at supermarket for food. Very inconvinient. They didnt give us any apology in form of free dinner or so.That I would be expecting at least. Night before our checkout , we got letter through the door saying breakfast will be in different place as our part of the hotel was under the renovation.Fine thats ok. Renovation was going on there during our stay but it wasnt disturbing us much, a bit messy and dusty but it was only on our way out and as I said we are not picky, so didnt feel much bothered by this . But what was again disspointing was standard of breakfast . That changed on that day so much that it was not worth 2* hotel. Very ,very bad. They didnt just move breakfast to other part of the complex, they did not provide the same breakfast we had other days.It was only about 1/2 of selection so again

Firstly top tips we wish we knew: 1. The mystery free white bus of Arinsal. Doesn’t pick anyone up. Never ever wait for it. It’s Andorra’s biggest Mystery 2. Therefore bring cash and get the yellow bus into pal if your going there. 3. Arcalis is the place to go, Arinsal and Pal are good (Pal in particular has some nice runs) but Arcalis has a green run that took me 20 mins and was brilliant for a beginner/intermediate like me We arrived on Sunday about 5ish and checked in, room not huge 309 but pretty good, nice little kitchen area and a fridge. Beds a bit on the hard side for us but it’s personal preference. Food was brilliant in 20 years of buffet type foods this is right up there. Fresh tasty, chefs coming out often is a good sign. Pork ribs were a particular highlight, no sauce is a good sign. Little point if you have an allergy/intolerance check before eating. I’m lactose free and could see cream on food that said it didn’t. Chefs kindly made me some without cream which was nice. No lockers for ski gear but did have locks you slide in but there wasn’t enough so had to take skis into room each time which was a little annoying. All in all bar a couple of parts it’s 5 stars, I would stay there again particularly because of the food. Big thanks to Paul and the Copper couple for the chats and help during our holiday.
