The facilities are excellent. It's spotlessly clean and truly the epitome of a traditional Korean hotel. All the staff are incredibly friendly. The fitness center is excellent, and with an indoor pool, you can enjoy a swim at any time of day. The hotel is so spacious that you can even take a leisurely walk around inside.

Lovely Yangon staycation. The room was quiet and comfortable with good wifi, nice bed and a bathtub. The sauna and jacuzzi were my favourite things. They were clean and well maintained. The swimming pool has phenomenal views, however its freezing cold. Breakfast spread is varied and delicious. Highly recommend and only 12 USD. I wouldn't recommend dinner. It was mostly aimed at Chinese and Indian and had no European food. Service is friendly, fast and efficient. I'll be back for sure

Very good and clean hotel, the hotel entrance is hard to find for the first time visit but staffs are welcoming, and you have to climb small stairs even after reaching guest floor by elevator, which I didn't like when I was tired from walking, there are water servers near guest rooms to fill in cold water anytime, breakfast quality is superb and you get air-blended milk tea, the meatballs at noodle counter are tasty and recommended, yet orange juice or fruit juice quality is not good compared to other 3 star hotels in Yangon. Bed quality is best of best so I slept very well

It was awesome. All the staffs are very polite, sweet and making us happy. Always asking “ how may we help, Di you need anything? Or something? Immediately they all responded and meet our needs like water, iron, iron board, AC, whatever we asked for helps and questions, their front desk response was awesome. I would like to give credit to Mr. Tommy and his team working at the front desk, Myat Noe, Moe, Mo, Su Sint, Pan, Leon, Sa, Than, May, Pyle and Zun working at the breakfast…! They were so amazing. Thank you. I will definitely recommend to my friends whenever they will visit Myanmar, “Go and stay in Melia”. Thanks. Hope to see you again in the future! Mr and Mrs Pau Florida, USA

After nearly a decade away, I finally found myself back at this hotel—and what a welcome return it was. From the moment I stepped into the lobby until the moment I reluctantly rolled my suitcase out for the airport, the experience was nearly flawless (with just one teensy quibble—I’ll get to that in a bit). Check-in was smooth as silk, made even sweeter by the offering of fresh watermelon juice. A delightful touch! I did encounter a minor hiccup with my luggage—it took a while to reach my room, and I had to ring the concierge to investigate its whereabouts. But the porter was so genuinely apologetic, I almost wanted to apologize for bothering him. Guilt level: Catholic nun. Now, onto the room. It was wonderfully spacious, and while the decor still whispered “vintage business trip,” it was undeniably comfortable. In a world of modern hotels where rooms are the size of a generous walk-in closet and the lighting feels like a moody art installation, Parkroyal proudly remembers what hotels are supposed to be: roomy and restful. Would I have loved a USB charging port near the bed? Yes. Did I survive without it? Also yes. The one area that could use some serious love was the bathroom—more specifically, the shower bathtub combo. The tub had some visible mould on the floor, the shower head had a bizarre crush on the wall (refusing to face the actual human in the tub), and the toilet flush was positioned so low I wondered if it was designed by a committee of hobbits. Tall guests or elderly folks may need a bit of acrobatics to reach it. That said, the rest of the bathroom was perfectly functional. My room faced the swimming pool, which looked inviting, though I skipped it in favor of the gym—and what a gem it was. Not only did it feature the usual suspects (treadmills, dumbbells, etc.), but it also boasted a yoga area, TRX setup, rowing machine, and even a vertical climber. It felt more like a premium fitness club than a hotel gym. Breakfast deserves a standing ovation. A buffet that goes beyond the usual suspects, offering everything from local delights to Western staples, plus Japanese, Korean, Indian, and Chinese options. I may or may not have returned for seconds. And thirds. In short: would I come back? Absolutely. It’s a comforting mix of old-school hospitality with just enough modern touches. A charming classic that knows what really matters.

Very nice hotel. The room are clean and comfortable with all toiletries (toothbrush, soap, comb, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower cap…). Can enjoy gym and swimming pool until 9pm. Old luxury hotel - resort style big pool, great breakfast, spacious rooms. They have to renovate it, but it still very nice. Ah, by the way. Its hard to find some restaurants nearby - be prepared for taxi for any case. But they have 24h convenient store on first floor. And - its very strange for the hotel of this level - there was a situation with exec lounge. It was in my booking but they refuse to give me access: ”It was an error in room description”. Guys, its really not my trouble, right? I wasnt in the mood for hard negotiations, so... let carma decide ))) And they have no local shuttle bus (yes, there is an error on hotel site). Heh )))

Pros: The hotel has a European style, the staff is helpful, everything is new and clean, and the mattress, bedding, and towels are excellent. It's located in the city center. Cons: No water in the room, tiny rooms, windows don't open, and a meager à la carte breakfast in the cafe on the first floor. Because of the downsides, I'll choose a different hotel next time.

BBruce MWould stay again. Great location, close to area famous landmark by walking distance. Room need sound proof due to noise from street and near by park especially on morning. Also room key needed to be updated. Like old style bulk key chain back in the 80's . Great breakfast buffet and enjoy it. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Overall, very pleased with stay.

GGary Joseph HayesReview: The Governor’s Residence, Yangon The Governor’s Residence remains one of Yangon’s most atmospheric and elegant hotels, combining colonial charm with modern comfort. Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements. Dining is a highlight. The open-air restaurant offers refined Burmese and international dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Breakfast under the wide verandas, with tropical birdsong in the background, is especially memorable. Afternoon cocktails by the pool or an evening meal by candlelight evoke the romantic grandeur of a bygone era. What sets the Governor’s Residence apart is its atmosphere: it is not simply a hotel but a living reminder of Yangon’s colonial past, reimagined with comfort and grace. Whether visiting on business or leisure, guests leave with a sense of serenity and timeless elegance. For those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and authentic Burmese hospitality, this residence is an exceptional choice.

IIsfp-Solo TravelerThe staff were very accommodating, from the receptionists to housekeeping💙 I stayed here for only one day as I extended my trip by a day. Don’t expect too much from the amenities, as the hotel is half the price of others with similar facilities—which is why it’s a good option😊 The breakfast buffet had limited options but was still decent —- They have a section where you can ask a staff member to cook an egg/omelet for you, but I didn’t explore the other options (breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, which is great if you have early morning plans, as it gets really hot once the sun rises during this month)…. The hotel has a gym, sauna, and pool. The room includes a TV, kettle, hairdryer, toiletries, and complimentary water and coffee….. The only downside was that hot water is not available 24 hours during my stay…. According to the receptionist, hot water is available only during specific hours to adhere to electricity conservation, if I’m not mistaken.. (if I’m not mistaken, starting from 9 AM, but I’m not sure until when) as they have I only realized this when I was about to shower around 8:30 PM and found that only cold water was available. I called the receptionist, and they sent housekeeping to assist…. I’m not sure if it’s a temporary thing only so if you’re concern with this, you can message them first… It’s still a good place to stay, even if it’s a bit far from the tourist spots, as Grab is available at a very reasonable price for getting to the places you want to visit.

EEmily283I stayed at this hotel for two weeks during my stay in Yangon. The water pressure in the shower rooms varies from room to room, and some rooms have malfunctioning security boxes, so I always check before checking in and choose my room. During my stay, the air conditioning broke down (making a rattling noise and dripping water and ice), so I was upgraded to a slightly better room midway through. The front desk staff speak English, so if you have any problems, they'll be happy to help you. It's a very comfortable stay. The breakfast menu is pretty similar, but it's a buffet so you can eat your fill! I really like this hotel, and I plan to stay again the next time I visit Yangon.

GGuest UserThe hotel reception staff and security staff were very friendly towards customers. The room was also kept clean. The location was convenient for my activities, and the breakfast was very neat and delicious, so I was very satisfied. It was especially nice that they allowed me to eat from 6 in the morning. Reception staff, security staff, other miscellaneous staff, and room cleaning staff all smile at the same time. I had a very comfortable stay for 5 days thanks to the friendly and friendly guidance. I stayed at the Melia Hotel in August 2023, and I think it was a much more satisfying hotel than there.
