I had an amazing experience during my stay. The hospitality was exceptional, Jusika, who provided outstanding service has made my morning breakfast even more pleasant.
The hotel’s location is perfect—right in front of Bikini Beach—which makes it incredibly scenic. I stayed in a sea-view room, and it was absolutely worth it.
For Muslim, the qiblat direction faces the sea, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere for prayer. The hotel doesn’t have a swimming pool, but its okay. I also joined an excursion by the hotel & enjoying spa treatment here.
It just the water pressure a bit low in the bathroom.
Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable experience. I would definitely return!
The hotel is starting to be dated. The room is in small to moderate size. It would be good for those who will go water activities during day time. There will be US$5 off for the snorkeling trips.
DISSATISFACTION!! Do not take any activities under Kaani Group.
Speed boat service provided by hotel from Male Jetty to Maafushi Island feel 25USD for 1 pax 1 way. Once booked the hotel, please email them to get information regarding speed boat service.
First day we are warmly welcomed by the hotel staff. Took 15-20 mins for the room arrangements. Staff helped to bring the luggage’s to the room. Room was good clean and neat. No toothpaste and brush was provided.
First 2-3 days very struggling to get WI-FI due to some disruption. We need to go out to use WiFi.
We took water sport activities under Kaani. Not a great service. I would suggest to go around see other packages provided by other companies.
We was disappointed with their management when we asked about the snorkelling activities we done is not go well as they promised. When I raised the issue they management refused to answer.
The hotel has a great location, right across from where you disembark, making it very convenient for boat trips. There are many entertainment options nearby, and the prices are reasonable. The buffet selection is limited, so I recommend ordering à la carte. They even deliver to your room. The hotel has daily housekeeping, so the service is decent. I mainly chose it because it's clean and new.
I want to share something with my friends who want to book this hotel: We asked the hotel front desk where we can eat local Maldivian food. An old man said that it is difficult to eat Maldivian food in Maafushi because it takes a long time to prepare, and it has basically been replaced by local food. Nowadays, Maldivian women all go out to work, and rarely cook Maldivian food at home, so now young people in Maldives are also used to eating foreign food such as hamburgers and fried chicken. But! The hotel's breakfast is a special breakfast in the Maldives, and it is specially made by someone hired by the hotel.
Friends who want to stay in this hotel should remember to try it. Small pancakes, eggs and salad that tastes like fish floss and onions. If it's not enough, you can also ask for banana jam pancakes.
Solunar is on beachfront however it is not at the bikini beach nor public beach.
The staff there is very friendly and are always making sure things work. On our last day, the air con had some issue, we inform immediately they checked and resolved the issue.
This hotel look after its guest well. They will ensure we are well hydrated. They provided us with extra water when we have run out of the standard 2 bottles. Thank you.
The Maldivian breakfast is very good. The continental breakfast is standard - bread, eggs and sausages.
Overall, Solunar is value for money with a good experience.
To be honest, i was taken back a bit as this was my 1st stay in mafushi. The service level and overall hospitality was much better in other islands like guraidhoo and sun siyam resort. The girl who hosted us seemed a bit unfriendly the towels were not clean. But overall the room was good for the price. They have a nice interior of the hotel and relaxing zone is also quite nice. You can sit there chill read a bit. There was moonlight cafe right next to the hotel and its open until 2am. The area is also quite nice as its on the main street right at the end.
The hotel is located near the community. In front is a beach where you can swim. The water is very clear. The staffs are very good. The breakfast is delicious. There is a chill-out restaurant in front of the hotel. If I go to the Maldives, I will stay here again.
Wonderful hotel. Spacious room, nothing extra. Special thanks for the quality of the pillows, you fall asleep literally as soon as you put your head on it. Soft comfortable bed. Breakfast is prepared practically in front of you. Very tasty. I especially liked the tuna with coconut flakes. The hotel territory is small, but it looks atmospheric. The staff is friendly, helpful. At night I wanted to drink tea with sweets, despite the late time of day, they accompanied me and showed me the store 😅🤌. You need to understand that this is not a luxury hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and atmosphere.
The breakfast is plentiful, the room is large, the bed is comfortable, there is an oversized balcony, you can see the sea, the bath water is enough, very good, the waiter will help you when you see the suitcase.

GGeraldeWent there in October, not peak, so the owner guy is so nice to fetch and send us to the jetty. He also let us checkout very late since there’s not much guests. Clean room and simple. Simple breakfast daily. Very honest to reco us tours that would certainly benefit for us.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the lively area of Maffushi. It feels very safe. The hotel upgraded us to Kaani Beach Hotel.
The service is very good and every employee is very nice.
The facilities are mature, there is a swimming pool, and there are also sea tours. The instructions are clear. It was a very pleasant time and I enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended!!!!!!!
