This hotel is an older one that's now under Novotel management. The hotel looks fresh, the lobby is grand, and there's ample parking. The location isn't ideal, though, as it's in a 'sketchy' area, making late-night walks uncomfortable. The swimming pool is the hotel's highlight; it's probably the largest in Pontianak, and there's a kids' pool too. The rooms with pool access are definitely worth it, as you can easily go in and out without hassle.
I booked the deluxe room and it was very small. The description says 26m2 or something along those lines but maybe the bathroom uses most of that space because it definitely was not 26m2. The room was very small and stuffy. The aircon is not cold its more just like a loud ventilation. Also the pool was closed for renovations which was not mentioned in the booking notes.
Friendly staff though
We had a great stay at this hotel. The service was truly excellent, from the security staff to the reception team and concierge, everyone was kind, professional, and very helpful.
When we arrived, we were welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink and were even allowed to check in early, which we really appreciated. The security staff were especially friendly, helping us with our luggage and opening the car door for us. It truly a five-star service.
The room was very comfortable, the bed, lighting, and overall ambience were excellent. What I loved most was the strong water pressure in the shower, which made it very comfortable and enjoyable.
In terms of location, it’s quite convenient, close to Gaia Mall and the airport.
First time staying here and the service was extraordinary. The views are also no less stunning. Suggestions for increasing the menu at the cafe so there are lots of choices.
The hotel is really good, impressed by its good infrastructures, great breakfast and good services.
However, there were some points deducting aspects. The disgusting black stains at edge of the wash basin, the water stained tissues and the worst of the lot, the faeces chocked toilet bowls in male toilet of the dining area was a real turnoff.
Will avoid this hotel in future visits to this town.
Too much a walk to downtown with poor sidewalks and crossings.
Front desk denied my third night (prepaid breakfast/room) to be used on second night as had to leave early. Emphasize 'prepaid'. Completed review form in the room, Front desk manager emailed with apologies. The front desk lady should either be fired or went thru further customer service training and courtesy.
Room circuit breaker tripped burning phone charger, and the outlet extender. Electrician came quickly tho to reset breakers.
Room was very basic yet so called 'superior' room.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
HARRIS Hotel Pontianak scores with a good location, friendly staff and an overall solid package. The public areas look modern and well maintained, and both check‑in and check‑out were efficient and helpful.
The point deduction is for the bed: the linens were freshly made but had visible stains, and the mattress underneath was clearly soiled – this is where the hotel urgently needs to improve its quality standards. With spotless bedding and a renewed or thoroughly cleaned mattress, this property would easily be a 5‑star choice within its category for me.
Lampunya kedap kedip beberapa kali harus dimatiin dulu terus dinyalain, baru bisa.
Selimutnya ukuran kecil untuk bed king size.
Pintu susah dikunci, sprei bolong2.
