We had a brief stop here as part of a walking tour. This modest building was once a palace for the Portuguese royal family in the 19th century. So it has nice historical roots. It is now a small...
Nothing more than the facade of the building, waste of time!
According to many Rio guides, it advertises as imperial palace. After arriving, we realized that other than the building itself, it’s no longer a palace. Instead, it’s been turned into an art gallery....
Worth a visit
Apparently the original home of the fleeing Portuguese Royal Family, this building is moderately interesting and worth a look if you are passing.
A good opportunity to know Brazil's history
The Imperial Paço is an ancient (average austere) palace where the Portuguese royal family lived during his exile in Brazil and where independence was managed.
To visit
It is an ancient building that makes a part of the imperial past of Brazil relive. It is located on the 15th November Plaza, very close to the Tiradentes Palace and the ferry station.
