Charming Kerkyra: A Slice of Italy on the Greek Island of Corfu 🇬🇷 If you want to truly feel the heartbeat of Corfu, you must spend a day getting lost in the narrow streets of its capital, Kerkyra or Corfu Town. The Old Town is so deeply infused with Venetian charm that it is easy to forget you are actually in Greece. For the best experience, I highly recommend getting lost in Campiello, which is the oldest neighborhood in the city. Its labyrinth of narrow alleys, tall pastel-colored buildings, and laundry hanging between balconies feels like a living postcard. You should also take time to chase the vibrant pink bougainvillea flowers against the warm, sun-kissed terracotta walls, as they create the perfect aesthetic backdrop for stunning travel photos. While wandering, look up to spot Saint Spiridon Church. You can easily catch glimpses of its iconic red-domed bell tower peeking beautifully through the narrow street openings. 📍 Location Corfu Town, Kerkyra, Greece To make the most of your visit, here are a few practical tips. First, beat the crowds by arriving either early in the morning before 9:00 AM to enjoy the quiet alleys before the cruise ships arrive, or later in the evening when the golden hour hits and the local cafe lights turn on. Second, make sure to watch your step and wear comfortable walking shoes because the historic streets are paved with old stone and marble, which can be surprisingly slippery. Finally, try some local flavor by skipping the tourist-heavy Liston promenade for a moment and ducking into the quieter side streets to enjoy a refreshing local tsitsibira, a traditional ginger beer, at a hidden café.
