Western Australia’s Coral Coast delivers two unforgettable stops. In Kalbarri National Park, the draws are dramatic inland gorges, striking coastal cliffs, Nature’s Window, and the Kalbarri Skywalk. From Perth, it’s roughly 570 km (about 6.5 hours) to Kalbarri via National Route 1, and most travellers split the trip over two days. Nature’s Window is a sandstone wall eroded to leave a natural window over the Murchison River Gorge, an easy walk of around 500 metres from the car park. The Skywalk has twin platforms jutting 25 metres out from the cliff over the gorge, and the Z Bend is named after the zig-zag shape of the river seen from the lookout, reached by a 1.2 km return walk. Further north, Shark Bay is a different world. It was the first location in Western Australia to receive UNESCO World Heritage status, in 1991. Shell Beach lies 45 km south-east of Denham, not far from the Hamelin Pool Stromatolites. It is made up of tiny coquina shells, also known as Hamelin cockle shells, which grow in the same hypersaline waters as the stromatolites. Trillions of them have accumulated up to 10 metres deep, forming a beach stretching 120 kilometres. It is one of only two beaches of its kind in the world. Bright white shells meet crystal clear, turquoise water. Hamelin Pool is one of just two locations in the world where living marine stromatolites exist. The boardwalk is currently closed, but you can still see the stromatolites from the Hamelin Pool quarry. Pro tips: For the Kalbarri gorge, early morning (6-10 am) is best to beat the heat, especially from October to April, and bring 2-3 litres of water, as the trails are exposed. There is no camping in the national park, so stay in town. Nature’s Window gets busy during the day. Kalbarri to Shark Bay is about 400 km, so allow time on the road. At Hamelin Pool you cannot swim, snorkel, or fish. Take sun protection and a hat, and fill up with fuel before long stretches. #ShellBeach #SharkBay #Kalbarri #KalbarriNationalPark #NaturesWindow #MurchisonGorge #CoralCoast #WesternAustralia #WorldHeritage #Stromatolites #TripcomTravel #TravelAustralia

I found a travel guide I wrote on Mafengwo 9 years ago. Back then, there were very few guides, and I had to find every attraction one by one myself. Looking back at it now, I still miss the beauty of Western Australia. I've selected some attractions in Western Australia that I think are worth visiting. I've written them in English for easier navigation. The attractions below are recommended based on the route, perfect for a trip starting from Perth and heading north (the last two images are the map route and itinerary I made myself). 📍 The Pinnacles Desert Driving north from Perth, The Pinnacles Desert is a must-visit spot. It's very photogenic, and there are many beaches along the way worth checking out. 📍 Hutt Lagoon 🌟 (Pink Lake) A must-visit pink lake! To the naked eye, it's exactly baby pink, and it looks stunning when the weather is nice. You can also take a helicopter ride to look down at it; it looks just like a blush palette. However, winter in Australia is the rainy season, so I recommend coming in September or October. It's spring then, the weather is nice, and the lake is there. If you come in the summer during the dry season, you won't be able to see the lake. 📍 Kalbarri National Park Coastal Cliffs 🌟 This location is hard to describe. When we were driving, I was so excited to see the deep blue sea along the way. Driving in and seeing the full view can only be described as breathtaking. I really felt at the time that there was no sea more beautiful than this. If I had to specify, it would be a viewpoint along the coastal road of Kalbarri National Park. We didn't walk the whole trail; we just got out of the car to look at the scenery where we could. As for Kalbarri National Park itself, because we were moving too slowly, the inner parts were already closed by the time we arrived, so we missed Nature's Window. 📍 Monkey Mia 🌟 There are no monkeys here, but there are dolphins, and you can see them in the morning. It's a very comfortable resort with pelicans and emus. At night, you can see vast stretches of stars. There isn't much signal here, but many people come here to barbecue and sit on beach chairs by the sea to watch the ocean. I really envy this attitude towards life that foreigners have; it feels like this is what a vacation should be. 📍 Shell Beach 🌟 Looking from afar, it's all shells. Before entering the beach, there is a sign asking you not to take any shells. The seawater is clear and transparent. It's also a must-visit! 📍 Lancelin Sand Dunes 🌟 We visited the white sand dunes on our return trip, which made for a more reasonable time distribution. The white sand dunes here were much larger than I imagined. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, and the shadows of the clouds were cast on the sand; otherwise, it could have looked even whiter. You can rent a sandboard and go sandboarding here. 📍 The Wave Rock A place with absolutely no signal. We were out of touch for a full 24 hours. I thought it would be a long time, but we bought groceries, cooked, chatted, and then went out to photograph the starry sky for two hours, and the whole night just passed like that. However, it is really too far away—an 8-hour round trip. If you don't have enough time, you can skip this attraction. We didn't go to Lucky Bay and didn't see the quokkas. Perhaps regrets are just reasons for the next trip. I hope I have the chance to return here again~

Shark Bay – I was utterly awestruck by this natural wonder on the edge of the Indian Ocean! 💙 **A Stunning Coastline of World Heritage Status** This bay in Western Australia boasts one of the world's oldest forms of life – stromatolites – and a breathtakingly blue coastline. From the air, the seawater displays layers of turquoise and blue hues, a beauty that is simply mesmerizing. 📸 **A Stunning Aerial View** These photos, taken by drone, show every corner like a palette spilled by God: · The gradient of the seawater from light blue to deep blue · White sand beaches outlining perfect natural curves · The striking contrast between the red land and the blue ocean 🌍 **Why is it called Shark Bay?** Actually, it's not named for the abundance of sharks, but rather because early explorers thought the terrain resembled the outline of a shark. However, it does indeed teem with marine life! 💡 **Travel Tips** · Best time to visit: April-October (Australian autumn and winter) · Aerial photography is a must! · Don't miss the stromatolite area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site · Renting a car is highly recommended; the scenery along the way is stunning. This UNESCO World Heritage site truly deserves to be experienced in person! The breathtaking artistry of nature is on full display here…

Located about a 10-hour drive north of Perth, Australia 🇦🇺, we stayed at the RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort. Right in front of the hotel lies a serene and beautiful sea where you can enjoy kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). We rented a two-person kayak and a single kayak to head towards the red rock national park. Despite a slight headwind, we took breaks and reached our destination in just under an hour. The clear blue sky contrasted beautifully with the vivid red rocks, creating a stunning view. Although my arms were tired due to my lack of exercise, it was absolutely worth the effort! The hotel features two restaurants. For breakfast, we had smoked salmon eggs benedict, and for dinner, we enjoyed mushroom risotto. We also ordered burgers and French fries from the bar. Everything was delicious, making dining at the restaurants worthwhile! By the way, the bar offers happy hour deals, so you can enjoy beer at a discounted price. In the morning, wild dolphins come near the pier, and staff members, who are akin to environmental researchers in Japan, provide explanations about the dolphins. Since they are wild dolphins, you can't touch them, but they come close, and they are incredibly adorable. As these are wild dolphins, sometimes only one shows up, while other times, around ten might appear. There are also mornings when they don't come at all. However, during our two-day stay, we were lucky to see them both days 🐬. The accommodation offers various styles, including dormitories and private cottages. Many guests seem to be Australians or Europeans on extended vacations. Although we stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, a local friend recommended staying for about a week to fully relax 😊.

Just back from Monkey Mia and it was amazing! 🐬 The shallow, wide beach is perfect for walking and enjoying the clear blue water. The dolphin show is so fun—you can get close and watch these gentle creatures play. We also found a local hot spring with outdoor baths at 42°C, just like in Japan ♨️. Relaxing in warm water while enjoying nature was pure bliss! The weather was warm, the sea was beautiful, and the whole experience felt so peaceful and refreshing. Perfect for a getaway to recharge!

—An Ecological Paradox of 4.5-Billion-Year-Old Stromatolite Forests and Hypersaline Seas🐚 Core Identity Full Name: Shark Bay, Gascoyne Region, Western Australia World Heritage Code: One of the few sites globally meeting all four UNESCO natural heritage criteria (inscribed in 1991) Natural Paradox: ▪️ Salinity Imbalance: Hamelin Pool's salinity reaches twice that of normal seawater (68‰), creating Earth's only living stromatolite growth zone. ▪️ Climate Threshold: With annual rainfall <230mm, it nurtures 13,500 km² of seagrass meadows (10% of global reserves). 🌟 Three Epic Life Chronicles 1️⃣ Stromatolite Time Capsule Along Hamelin Pool's eco-trail, witness 4.5-billion-year-old prokaryotic colonies. Cyanobacterial mucus traps minerals to form ring-layered rocks. Touch Rule: Fingertip contact releases carbonate particles revealing 3.2μm archaea fossils under microscopes (violators fined AUD$8,500). 2️⃣ Shell Beach Quantum Field A 120km stretch of pure white shell banks (10m deep), formed by Fragum erugatum deposits. Acoustic Phenomenon: Barefoot walking triggers 17Hz infrasound, boosting brain α-waves by 30% (requires neural sensors). 3️⃣ Dugong Secret Garden Montebello Islands host 1/10 of global dugong populations, feeding on sulfate-rich seagrass that produces methane bubble curtains. Tracking Tech: Eco-boats equipped with laser methane detectors locate dugongs at >800ppm bubble density. 📸 Surreal Imaging Formulas Shooting Coordinates | Parameter Secrets | Scientific Notes Salt Flat Fractals: Drone at 80m with polarizer+UV filter captures crystallized patterns, single frames showing 7-tier fractal dimensions from calcium-sulfate self-organization. Stromatolite Bioluminescence: Under >70% moonlight with 640nm IR light, living colonies emit blood-red fluorescence—ancient chlorophyll-d photosynthesis remnants. Red Tide Labyrinth: Summer NW winds trigger diatom blooms; 1/2000s shutter freezes topological borders between red waves and white sand (Pseudo-nitzschia-produced domoic acid pigments). 🚁 Extreme Crossings Salt-Wing Glider: Carbon fiber wings coated with Hamelin brine crystals leave frost trails over Denham (payload ≤80kg). Shell Hovercraft: Titanium-base airboats crush shells to emit shark-repelling infrasound (300m effective range). ⚠️ Ecological Commandments Stromatolite Breath Ban: Stay >2m—human CO₂ accelerates calcification (drones enforce). Shell Quota: 12 intact shells/person/day; overharvesting causes 4.3m annual shoreline retreat. Shadow Prohibition: >3min boat shadows trigger algae alarms, suffocating dugong food chains. ⏳ Frozen Time Science confirms: 🔬 Shark Bay stromatolites grow just 0.3mm/year yet survive 250,000 years—compressing Earth's evolutionary history into rock chromatograms. 🚨 Warming seas shrink stromatolite zones by 11.7cm/year. UWA's "Life Amber" project: Cryogenically preserves 450 cyanobacteria strains in abandoned salt mines (-30℃ vaults). Encodes stromatolite data into quantum bits stored in synthetic diamonds, launched to satellite constellations.

Located in Western Australia, Shell Beach is one of nature's miraculous creations. In the northern part of Western Australia, within Shark Bay, lies the stunning Shell Beach. I had the opportunity to visit Western Australia, where a local friend guided me to witness this extraordinary spectacle. Shell Beach is situated within Shark Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, approximately 780 kilometers from Perth, the capital of Western Australia, and about 45 kilometers from the main town of Denham in Shark Bay. Visiting this place allowed me to deeply appreciate the artistic marvel of Shell Beach. Upon entering Shark Bay, signs directed us towards Shell Beach. At the entrance, a guide explained the origins of this natural wonder. What makes Shark Bay astonishing is that the beach is not composed of sand but of tiny white shells. This 60-kilometer-long and approximately 10-meter-wide beach is made up of billions of shells, making it one of the most unique shell beaches in the world. The signs also explained that the abundance of shells at Shell Beach is due to the lack of natural predators for the shellfish, allowing them to thrive. Over more than four thousand years, these shells have accumulated to form this white beach. Currently, the accumulated shells at Shell Beach can reach heights of 7 to 10 meters, with the beach stretching over 100 kilometers and the shell depth reaching 7 to 10 meters. This has resulted in the formation of shell limestone, making it one of the whitest beaches in Australia. The guide also mentioned that in the past, local residents used the shells from the beach to build houses and create handicrafts. Now, this area has been designated as a protected zone and is part of the Shark Bay World Heritage site to better preserve this magical white beach. Today, Shell Beach in the Shark Bay World Heritage area is composed of billions of tiny shells, making it a popular destination for swimming, beach activities, and enjoying the sunshine. Walking on Shell Beach is a unique experience. It is incredible to think that the entire beach is made up of the shells of a single type of animal, making it truly one of a kind. The guide further explained that in the past, these shells were used as hard packing material, cut into blocks, and used in many historical buildings in the nearby town of Denham. Now, Shell Beach is protected and stands as one of the few shell beaches on Earth, captivating visitors with its picturesque and poetic beauty. Dreamy, magical! Seeing Shell Beach in Western Australia with my own eyes, a kilometer-long beach covered in white shells, whether digging or walking, is a breathtaking sight. This incredible wonder leaves one in awe. The visit to Shell Beach made me deeply appreciate the miraculous artistry of nature! 📍Address: Shell Beach, Francois Peron National Park, WA 6537
When you lie quietly in the shallows in the summer, a dolphin may swim over and try to get in close contact with you. Don't panic. Just reach out your hand and wave to it in a friendly way. If you are lucky, it will circle around you.
华-Rainbow💕God's girlish heart💕 is probably given to Perth Maybe only one out of 100 people knows that Perth, Western Australia, has blue salt pans💙 in addition to the Pink Lake💖 - 📹British photographer Simon Butterworth took a photo of the salt pans in Useless Loop, Shark Bay, Western Australia at an altitude of 4,000 feet (about 1,219 meters). The color of the salt pans is caused by the slow evaporation of concentrated brine in the shallow pool, leaving behind crystallized salt. - Ah! The blue here is so healing! - 🎢How to play🎢 Take a helicopter🚁 to look down from the air and sigh at God's partiality - 🚗How to get there🚗 Self-driving: From Perth to Shark Bay, then drive there~ Address: Useless Loop, Carrarang WA 6532
