Watching the sun drop behind 600-meter cliffs while floating in a calm, hidden ocean pool Tucked away in a quiet coastal corner near Los Gigantes lies Charco de Isla Cangrejo, one of Tenerife’s best-kept secrets. While most tourists head to crowded lookouts for golden hour, this natural ocean pool lets you experience sunset surrounded by raw volcanic beauty and crashing sea spray. Built into the dark basalt rock with a protective concrete wall, the pool fills naturally with tide water, creating a giant glassy mirror right at the edge of the roaring Atlantic. Floating in calm, clear water as the sky turns fiery orange behind the towering silhouette of the cliffs and the island of La Gomera is pure magic—and usually way less crowded than the main beach spots. 📍 Charco de Isla Cangrejo (Santiago del Teide), Tenerife, Spain 🇪🇸 💡 Pro-tip: Time your visit for mid-tide right before sunset! High tides can cause rough waves to crash over the wall, so always keep an eye on the ocean swell before jumping in. 🏊♂️✨ #myitinerary #thingstodo #travel #travel2026 #couplestrip #beachlife #naturalwonders #seascapes

Nature really pulled out all the stops when shaping these colossal sea cliffs. Rising dramatically up to 600 meters straight out of the Atlantic Ocean, Acantilados de Los Gigantes on the western coast of Tenerife are nothing short of breathtaking. Ancient Guanche natives used to call them the "Wall of Hell"—and standing before these towering dark basalt walls, you can see why. While taking a boat tour to see them from the water is incredible, watching them from above hits totally different. The Mirador Archipenque gives you the ultimate panoramic view: giant cliffs plunging into deep blue waters, black sand beaches below, and the island of La Gomera sitting on the horizon. 📍 Los Gigantes & Mirador Archipenque, Tenerife, Spain 🇪🇸 💡 Pro-tip: Head up to Mirador Archipenque right before golden hour. Grab a cold drink at the lookout cafe, sit back, and watch the sun dip into the ocean behind the cliffs! 🍹🌅 #myitinerary #travel2026 #travel #couplestrip #beachlife #naturalwonders #thingstodo #familytravel #spain #tenerife

We spent 7 nights at Barceló Santiago for a romantic getaway and proposal trip, and it was an amazing holiday we thoroughly enjoyed. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, especially for couples seeking a beautiful and relaxing escape. · *Room & Comfort** Our Superior Deluxe Room was modern, bright, and spacious enough for two, with ample storage for a week-long stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we appreciated the mini-fridge, TV, and refreshing AC. The balcony views of La Gomera and the Los Gigantes cliffs were breathtaking. Since our room faced the stage, we even enjoyed a few evenings of live entertainment from our balcony. The bathroom featured a stylish glass enclosure, though the toilet cubicle felt slightly cramped. · *Food & Drink** As part of the All-Inclusive package, we enjoyed a great variety of premium alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and water—a must in the warm weather. · **Bars**: The Breeze Bar offered quick service and evening table service, but we especially loved the Aloe Bar after 8 PM for its quiet, relaxed atmosphere and excellent service. · **Buffet (Drago)**: Themed nights and staple comfort foods like salads and chips made the food selection delightful. The live cooking station offering fresh meats was a highlight. A minor issue was the flies around the buffet; food covers would improve this. · *Service & Staff** Check-in was seamless, with Isabella efficiently explaining resort details, including the towel token system. Late arrival sandwiches and drinks at reception were a thoughtful touch. The staff were warm and helpful, and special thanks go to: · **Alicia**: Always exceptionally friendly and pleasant. · **Gabriella (Guest Experience Manager)**: Gabriella was amazing in helping organise a room surprise and coordinating my proposal. Her recommendations made our special moment unforgettable. · *Pools, Spa & Entertainment** The hotel grounds were spotless and beautifully maintained. We enjoyed all three pools with their stunning ocean and cliff views. As a part of our celebrations, we booked a private couple’s hour at the U-Spa, which included cava and fresh fruit—an incredibly relaxing highlight of our trip! The animation team worked tirelessly, although we mainly relaxed by the pools. Evening entertainment featured live bands and musicians and, while enjoyable, could use more variety. Using the indoor theatre might better suit evening shows. · *Location & Surrounding Area** The hotel’s coastal location is stunning, with convenient access to local supermarkets, bars, and restaurants like La Pérgola. A quick 10-minute taxi ride allowed us to visit the Mirador Los Guíos viewpoint, where the proposal happened, followed by a celebratory dinner at Aqua Restaurant. Their local menu and sunset views were spectacular. · *Verdict** Spotless facilities, exceptional staff, breathtaking views, and unforgettable memories made. We can’t wait to return!

#itinerarycheck Garajonay is a Tertiary relic — laurisilva that once covered Europe, now surviving on La Gomera's trade-wind mist. I ferried from Tenerife Los Cristianos to San Sebastián de La Gomera (45 min, ~25 € return), rented a car (40 €/day, essential — buses "guaguas" are sparse and don't enter trailheads). Park entry free; no gate. I did Laguna Grande → Alto de Garajonay (1,487 m) loop, 9.8 km, 3 h, 450 m gain. Start 08:30 — by 11:00 the cloud blanket rolls in and the summit view dies. The forest is moss, heather, giant ferns; El Cedro side trail adds 2 h and a stream crossing (no bridge, rock-hop). Juego de Bolas visitor centre (09:30–16:30) has maps; take one, the intersections are signed but faded. Gear: light rain shell (mist wets more than rain), grippy shoes (roots slick), layers — 14 °C in fog, 22 °C in clearing. Bring water; no refill inside. Mistake: a German hiker in road runners who slipped on the Contadero descent and slid 3 m into ferns — unhurt but shaken. Another: assuming "Canary = sun" and skipping the shell; everyone I passed in T-shirts regretted it. Costs: ferry 25 €, car 40, fuel 15, no park fee, coffee at Laguna Grande kiosk 1.50 €. Opinion: Garajonay is underwhelming on a clear day and transcendental in mist — most tourists pick the wrong hour. Would you chase fog or skip the island for sunnier Teide?

Here is a review of Wat Phet Suwan in Phetchaburi, a beautiful and tranquil temple nestled in the Ban Laem District. It truly stands out with its seamless blend of Thai and Chinese architecture. The main highlight of this temple is the magnificent, large octagonal "Guan Yin Shrine" that can be seen from afar. Inside, it houses a spectacular Guan Yin statue carved from 1,000-year-old fragrant sandalwood brought all the way from China. This makes it a highly revered spot where visitors frequently flock to pray for good fortune, career success, and overall blessings. The vibe inside the temple is incredibly peaceful. Surrounded by lush rice fields, waterways, and the natural scenery of Ban Laem, it offers a deeply relaxing atmosphere. It’s perfect for paying your respects, making merit, and taking a stroll to admire the exquisite Chinese architectural details. The intricate dragon motifs and the interior decor of the shrine are simply stunning, guaranteeing great photos from every angle. Plus, you can pay homage to Luang Pho Chokchai, a highly revered Srivijaya-style Buddha statue worshipped by the locals. If you're traveling to Phetchaburi or passing through the Bang Tabun route, I highly recommend stopping by to visit this temple. I guarantee you'll leave feeling completely refreshed, having experienced both its serene beauty and spiritual energy. It’s definitely another must-visit beautiful temple near Bangkok! 🙏✨

Wat Phet Suwan is a sprawling temple surrounded by tranquil waters, lush fields, and a stunning mountain backdrop. Built in classic Thai architectural style, the temple grounds feature traditional structures such as monks' quarters, a vihara, and an ordination hall. During a major renovation a few years ago, a beautiful Guanyin shrine was added. Inside, it houses numerous sacred relics, most notably a 1,000-year-old Guanyin statue intricately carved from fragrant sandalwood, which was brought over from China. The temple is also home to "Luang Pho Chok Chai," a magnificent Srivijaya-style Buddha image relocated from Wat Klang Nuea in Samut Songkhram, deeply revered by the Buddhist community. If you are ever visiting Phetchaburi, be sure to stop by Wat Phet Suwan to pay your respects and make merit. It boasts some of the most striking architecture in the province and is conveniently located just a short drive from Bangkok. A must-visit destination for all merit-makers! Opening Hours: 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM Address: Bang Tabun Ok Subdistrict, Ban Laem District, Phetchaburi Province

I greeted the first sunset of 2026 at the iconic black sand beach of Valle Gran Rey in La Gomera. The unique color of this volcanic beach gently soothed the lingering emotions of the past year. As the waves rolled in, the shimmering sand grains resembled the countless opportunities that await in 2026. Instead of the bustling city countdown, I cherished a quiet moment with the sound of the waves, feeling content. With hopes for a year as solid and profound as this black sand, I penned my thoughts in a journal. For travelers dreaming of a tranquil start, this place is paradise.

#2026NewYear My 2026 resolution, made beneath the rocks of Tedeina. Standing before Roque de Agando, one of La Gomera's symbols, I was overwhelmed by the immense majesty of nature. Looking out at this massive volcanic reef, I vowed to have a firm resolve, unshaken by any wind or rain, as I welcomed the New Year of 2026. The numerous trekking trails across the island, each boasting their own charm, made the first steps of the New Year a breeze. It was particularly fascinating to observe the ever-changing vegetation depending on the elevation. From the cactus fields on the coast to the lush forests at the summit, it was amazing how one island could offer such diverse charms. I took each step forward, hoping that my life in 2026 would be as diverse and abundant as this island. For nature lovers, La Gomera is a sacred place. The New Year you spend here will be an unforgettable experience in your life. It will be an unattainable milestone. #2026NewYear

La Gomera is one of Spain’s Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. With an area of 142 square miles it is the third smallest of the archipelago’s eight main islands ,and is also the third least populated with just 22,000 inhabitants. San Sebastian de la Gomera is the capital and also hosts the main harbour and the population was about 9,500 in 2023. The port serves ferry routes to the islands of Tenerife , La Palma and El Hierro with regular year round departures. I spent the day in San Sebastián after getting the ferry over from Los Cristianos port in Tenerife. Los Cristianos is a lively and popular coastal town in the south of Tenerife, known for its beautiful beaches and bustling promenade. The ferry port/Terminal is situated directly opposite and has up to 56 sailings each week, with Armas and Fred Olsen ferry companies travelling to, El Hierro, La Palma and La Gomera. The Terminal in Los Cristianos is easily accessible and has parking , toilets , a bar/ restaurant with observation deck and tourist information, you can purchase tickets online or at the Armas/ Fred Olsen desks , the staff are very friendly and helpful and speak English. I left in the morning early and waited in the terminal. I joined the very busy queue and after a passport check I was able to board. The fast ferry took about 50 minutes and we arrived in La Gomera to beautiful and very hot February weather , and to be honest when I arrived I just wanted to chill on the nearby beach ,so after disembarking the ferry I walked from the port to the nearest beach ,(playa de San Sebastián) which took about 10/15 minutes and I spent most of the day sun bathing and swimming which was lovely . But there are lots of things to see and do if you’re feeling adventurous and want to explore. The church of assumption has a mural depicting an 18th century battle , and a museum with religious artwork dating from the 16th century. Nearby, La Gomera Archaeological Museum traces the island’s indigenous cultures through artifacts and scale models, and south is Torre del Conde , a medieval fortification set in a lush park. With plenty of hiking and beaches close by as well as restaurants , bars and shops ,there is so much to see and do! The bus station named Estacion de Guaguas is used for bus lines throughout the island and is located on the Avenida Del Quinto Centenario. I walked back to the Terminal taking a few more photos and boarded the last ferry of the day at 17:30 and my day in La Gomera was over , I enjoyed a great sunset and quiet trip back on the outside deck of the ship and we arrived back in Tenerife just as it was getting dark I had a really lovely day trip and I would definitely recommend a visit ! , the ferry is easy to book and both ports are easily accessible for foot passengers like me or if your driving and taking your vehicle.👍🏼
MSim831The evergreen misty forest, with its unique atmosphere fascinates in the heart of La Gomera. The area around the highest mountain, Garajonay (1487m) has been a national park since 1981. Since 1986 it has also been protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Senior in Age, Student at HeartThe price-performance ratio is very high. There are many kinds of water activities, both exciting and non-exciting. There is a self-service dining area in each small area, which is very convenient.
bengi教我玩蜘蛛Torre del Conde is one of the Canary Islands’ most important example of military architecture. Its function was mainly a representation of the capital’s majestic power in the 1400s. Set in a lush subtropical park, the white and brown fort contrasts dramatically with the greenery around.
