Howick Falls

Howick Falls is in the heart of the town of Howick, with plenty of free parking next to the falls area and opposite the market stalls. We visited in the first part of the morning (with advice from other locals on the way) and it was hassle free. There was a local resident who provided some insight into the local history, the falls and what to do and not do, as well as some good general safety advice. The falls themselves look radiant and flow smoothly, and the panoramic viewing platform takes the place into a realm of beauty that transcends the stunning views. Friendly locals make their living at the market stalls, be careful wandering around...without a doubt the best part of town.

KZN National Botanical Garden (PMB)

is a very well maintained garden with a wide variety of plants. I visited it last summer when the lush green grass was in full bloom with beautiful colorful flowers. The view of the mountains behind the lush greenery was breathtaking. This is a must visit for all those who live in Cape Town.
