🇬🇸 St Andrews Bay 🐧 South Georgia — จุดที่ผมยกให้เป็นไฮไลต์อันดับหนึ่งสำหรับสาย Wildlife ถ้ามา South Georgia เพื่อดูและถ่าย King Penguin ผมจะเผื่อเวลาที่ St Andrews Bay ให้มากที่สุดเท่าที่ Expedition Team อนุญาต เพราะที่นี่ไม่ใช่แค่จุดดูเพนกวิน แต่เป็นภาพรวมของ South Georgia ในเฟรมเดียว — ชายหาดสีเข้ม ฝูงเพนกวินมหาศาล ภูเขาหิมะ และแนวธารน้ำแข็ง Cook, Buxton และ Heaney อยู่ด้านหลัง ชายหาดยาวประมาณ 3 กิโลเมตร และอาณานิคม King Penguin ที่นี่ถือว่าใหญ่ที่สุดใน South Georgia 📅 แพลนเที่ยว St Andrews Bay — 1 Landing ช่วงแรก | Zodiac เข้าสู่อ่าว อย่าเพิ่งเก็บกล้องไว้ในกระเป๋า ช่วงนั่ง Zodiac เข้าฝั่งเป็นหนึ่งในมุมที่สวยที่สุด มองกลับไปจะเห็นแนวชายหาดสีดำตัดกับภูเขาหิมะ และเริ่มเห็น King Penguin กระจายอยู่ตามริมน้ำ ที่นี่เป็นอ่าวเปิด การลงฝั่งขึ้นกับคลื่น ลม และสภาพอากาศจริงในวันนั้น โดยเฉพาะลม katabatic ที่สามารถพัดลงมาจากธารน้ำแข็งอย่างรวดเร็ว ดังนั้นโปรแกรมอาจเปลี่ยนหรือตัดเวลาลงฝั่งได้แม้เรือจะมาถึงหน้าอ่าวแล้ว ช่วงที่สอง | เดินเลียบชายหาด หลังลง Zodiac ผมแนะนำว่าอย่ารีบตรงไปหา colony ทันที ให้ใช้เวลากับบริเวณริมน้ำก่อน มุมนี้ถ่ายง่ายและได้ภาพเป็นธรรมชาติมาก เพราะ King Penguin เดินเข้า–ออกทะเลเป็นระยะ ลองรอให้นกเดินผ่านเฟรมแทนการเดินตามนก แล้วใช้ภูเขาหิมะเป็นฉากหลัง จะได้ภาพที่บอกสถานที่ได้ชัดกว่า portrait เพนกวินอย่างเดียว นอกจาก King Penguin ยังมีโอกาสเจอ Elephant Seal และ Fur Seal บริเวณชายหาดด้วย 📸 มุมที่ 1 — Penguin + Dark Beach ใช้เลนส์ช่วงประมาณ 70–200 หรือ 100–400/500 mm ถ่ายเพนกวินที่เดินเป็นแถวริมทะเล รอจังหวะคลื่นบาง ๆ เข้ามาถึงเท้านก ภาพจะดูมีชีวิตกว่าการถ่ายตอนยืนนิ่งอยู่บนทราย ⸻ ช่วงที่สาม | เดินไปทาง King Penguin Colony เมื่อเดินเข้าด้านใน จำนวนเพนกวินจะค่อย ๆ หนาแน่นขึ้น และจะเริ่มเห็นภาพ масштаบของ colony จริง ๆ จุดสำคัญคือ ห้ามเดินเข้าไปใน colony และต้องเว้นอย่างน้อย 10 เมตรจากขอบอาณานิคม รวมถึงไม่ยืนขวางเส้นทางที่เพนกวินใช้เดินระหว่างทะเลกับ colony ถ้านกกำลังเดินผ่าน ให้มันเป็นฝ่ายไปก่อนเสมอ 📸 มุมที่ 2 — The Colony นี่คือภาพที่ควรเก็บให้ได้ที่สุด เปลี่ยนจากเลนส์ Tele มาเป็นประมาณ 24–70 mm หรือ 16–35 mm แล้วใส่ทั้ง King Penguin + ฝูงนกด้านหลัง + ภูเขา + Glacier เข้าไปในเฟรม อย่าซูมเฉพาะตัวนก เพราะความพิเศษของ St Andrews Bay คือ “จำนวนมหาศาลและภูมิประเทศ” ไม่ใช่แค่การได้เห็น King Penguin ใกล้ ๆ ⸻ ช่วงที่สี่ | ริมธารน้ำแข็งและ Glacial Outwash Plain ด้านหลังชายหาดเป็นพื้นที่ราบจากตะกอนธารน้ำแข็ง มีลำธารจากน้ำแข็งละลายไหลผ่าน โดยเส้นทางน้ำสามารถเปลี่ยนไปตามฤดูกาล 📸 มุมที่ 3 — Penguin + Glacier ถ้าอากาศเปิด ให้หามุมต่ำพอประมาณแล้ววาง King Penguin ไว้ foreground ก่อนใช้แนว glacier เป็นฉากหลัง นี่เป็นมุมที่ผมจะให้เวลานานที่สุด เพราะแค่ยืนอยู่กับที่ 15–20 นาที เหตุการณ์จะเดินเข้ามาหาเราเอง ทั้งเพนกวินเดินผ่าน การเรียกหากัน หรือกลุ่มนกกลับจากทะเล ⸻ ช่วงสุดท้าย | กลับมารอที่ชายหาด ก่อนถึงเวลาขึ้น Zodiac ผมจะกลับมาถ่ายบริเวณ shoreline อีกครั้ง ไม่ควรรอถึงนาทีสุดท้าย เพราะการเดินกลับอาจช้ากว่าคิดเมื่อมีสัตว์ขวางเส้นทาง ช่วงนี้เหมาะกับภาพ King Penguin เดินลงทะเล และภาพย้อนกลับไปยังภูเขา เป็นชุดภาพปิดท้ายที่ดีมาก
