Death Railway in Kachanburi! 🛤️😲
Death Railway is considered as one of the most visited destinations in Kanchanaburi for both local and foreign travellers. I have seen pictures of this place on facebook and instagram and I wanted so badly to see this place in person and I finally did! Went to see this historical site in Kanchanaburi called Death Railway. As far as I recall, the journey takes about 2 hours one way then another two going back from Nam Namtok. The tickets are available at the station 15 minutes before it arrives, however for our tickets we just paid on board a train. Such a memorable experience I had!

The Death Railway Bridge
The Death Railway Bridge, also known as the "Bridge on the River Kwai" after the popular film of the same name, is Kanchanaburi's most well-known historical site. During WWII, it was built with the help of British, Dutch, and American prisoners of war.
The bridge was part of the Thai-Burmese "Death Railway," so named because so many men perished while it was being built. The railway would have helped supply supplies to Japanese troops battling the British in adjacent Burma, therefore development was overseen by Japanese forces.
Today, you can stroll or take a train across this bridge, which still has portions of the original framework. Surrounding the location are market stalls selling food and goods.

The Safari Park Zoo in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, offers an immersive wildlife experience amidst lush greenery and natural habitats. Visitors can embark on thrilling safari tours, encountering a diverse array of animals including elephants, tigers, lions, and giraffes, roaming freely in spacious enclosures that mimic their natural environments.
The park's conservation efforts are commendable, with educational programs aimed at raising awareness about wildlife preservation. A peaceful respite from the bustle of Kanchanaburi lies the seven-tiered Erawan Waterfalls, reputed to be among the most beautiful in Thailand… difficulty of access is moderate, with the top few levels featuring an ‘unpaved’ path albeit with clear signage. Lifejackets are also available for rent should you wish to swim in the clear waters, or just soak your feet for a free fish pedicure! Getting there is easy with regular buses departing from Kanchanaburi Bus Station. Totally worth a day trip for the fresh air and wonderful vibes in Amazing Thailand! 🇹🇭

Erwan water falls
Located in West Thailand in the Tenasserim Hills range of Kanchanaburi Province, it is home to one of the most popular falls in the country. Founded in 1975 as Thailand’s 12th National Park, it is covering an area of 550 km².
The major attraction of the park is the 7-tiered Erawan Falls with emerald green ponds. There are also several impressive and long caves within the park, some of them deeper inside the park, few of them along the roads around the park. The park and the falls are named after the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology. The top tier of the falls is said to resemble an elephant head.
Around 80% of the park is mixed deciduous forests and the rest on higher elevations deeper inside deciduous dipterocarp and dry evergreen forests. The park consists of limestone hills, plains and number of streams. Elevation is around 165 to 996 meters asl.

We don't stay long at the floating market as we been here bedore 18 years ago. we knew the taxi scam especially tjose getting cheap taxi from Bangkok but ended in one of the floating market pier and forced to pay ridicolous price for a long tail boat to the market #riverkwaibridge #thaiand #kanchanaburi
Death Railway Bridge during Sunset
#bucketlistreboot
If you happen to be in Thailand definitely check out the Rover Kwai Bridge. From Bangkok it takes only 3 hours by bus to get there and the bus only costs 160 thai baht per person. It is a great experience to walk on the river kwai bridge and learn about the history. Many prisoners of the Japanese army died when working on the Death railway and this Bridge. The Japanese army was trying to gain control over British controlled burma. Thats why they wanted to build a railroad all the way from Japan to Burma which is called Myanmar.
Another great experience is to watch the train pass by while being on the bridge
Death Railway River Kwai Bridge
Getting There - It takes around 3 hours to get to Kanchanaburi from Bangkok by bus or car. If you take the popular Train route it can take up to 4 hours
Attractions - The main attraction is to walk across the Death Railway Bridge and watch sunset over the Ricer Kwai or witness the crossing of the train standing on the bridge. The bridge was build by imprisoned workers by Japan Forces during the second world war
Hotels - There are many hotels in this area
Food & Restaurants - There are many shopping vendors and street vendors next to the railway
Shopping - You can buy lots of souvenirs next to the railway.

Reconnect with Nature in Kanchanaburi 🏞️
In Thailand, there are many forests and national parks. Some are not far from the capital city of Bangkok.
Kanchanaburi is a province in the south west area of Thailand. It takes around three hours to get there from Bangkok by car. Getting there by train is another good option.
There are a few national parks in this province and I took a one day trip to visit the Erawan National Park. Inside the park, there's a 7 levels of the famous Phu Pha Erawan or Erawan Waterfall.
It took me around 45 minutes to reach the top level. The place was breathtaking. It was a great experience for me to reconnect with nature and part myself from the pollution.
