🏖️⛱️ Many friends have been privately messaging us, asking what else there is to do on Koh Lanta in Krabi Province besides island hopping and snorkeling. Since we need more time to edit the video materials, we'll first share a photo and text note to introduce a few distinctive activities. Be sure to save it.
1⃣ Koh Lanta has 9 charming beaches, the further south you go, the fewer people there are. As long as the weather is good, you can take beautiful photos anywhere. Plus, they all face west, so you can see the stunning sunset from any spot, and the colors are different at various times. Make sure to catch the sunset!
2⃣ Near Bakantiang Beach, there are many cliffside restaurants that are perfect for taking panoramic and bird's-eye view photos. Even if you don't go to the restaurants, you can find many suitable spots for taking pictures. Recommended! (Be careful for safety)
3⃣ Hotel swimming pools are standard on the island. Choose any hotel close to the beach, and you can capture the beauty of the sea meeting the sky right from the pool!
4⃣ There are a lot of rubber trees on Koh Lanta, and the sap is the raw material for Thai latex pillows. You can visit to broaden your knowledge. Remember to smell it; the scent is definitely intoxicating!
5⃣ On the island, of course, you should drink coconut water. Coconut trees are also standard in beach hotels. If interested, you can ask the staff to experience the joy of picking coconuts together.
6⃣ The southernmost part is the Lanta National Park. The entrance fee for foreigners is 200 Thai Baht for adults, 100 Thai Baht for children, 20 Thai Baht for motorcycles, and 30 Thai Baht for cars. There is a beautiful lighthouse that you can climb, and lovely beaches for swimming.

Off-the-beaten-path guide to Lanta Island, Thailand | You won't want to leave!
Day1 Phi Phi Island → Lanta Island (Last picture)
I took the last speedboat, half an hour, it was windy and wavy that day, I felt very dizzy, I suggest you take the one at around eleven in the morning, the price is also the most affordable, I heard that there is a 10 island fee, but I didn't see anyone collecting it when I got off the boat.
Took a double-bar car to the hotel, one hundred (you can call the hotel in advance, many offer free pick-up)
The hotel I stayed at was a four-star resort, booked in advance for over a hundred, the price on the day of check-in rose to over five hundred, everything was good, there is a private beach behind the hotel, not many people, the scenery is quite good. The roadside shops are very unique, all guarded by cats.
Day2 Lanta Island
Rent a small motorcycle for one hundred and two near the hotel, follow the navigation towards Lanta Old Town, saw many oil shops along the way, bottled, generally forty-one a bottle, two bottles are enough to go around.
Not many people in Lanta Old Town, it's very comfortable to stroll around the small shops, forty-one cups of mango
Ice, sitting by the sea and daydreaming is very comfortable.
Ride towards the National Forest, the road is uphill all the way, occasionally you can see monkeys and monitor lizards on the side of the road
After a section of mountain road is the coastline, the sea is gradient, no tourists
Walk and stop along the way, walk to an unknown hillside, pass a deserted pavilion, the scenery is excellent (pictures ④⑤)
Eat near the hotel, it's a restaurant that has everything, the taste is very good, ate there for two days, the boss is very enthusiastic, knowing that we are Chinese, he output all the Chinese he knew, before leaving he humbly asked how to say: (Is it delicious?) and (Have a good time!) in Chinese, really too friendly
It started to rain heavily in the afternoon of the first day, it rained all night, the original plan was to go to Rok Island the next day, but because the weather forecast was always rain, so decided to go around the island in the morning of the second day, and go to Krabi in the afternoon. Asked the hotel before going out in the morning, there was no boat, only carpooling, four hundred and fifty. One person to Krabi (here to remind everyone, decide the itinerary must book in advance) I returned to the hotel at about one and a half, asked the hotel front desk to book a car, they asked around, the car was full.
Because I had already booked a hotel in Krabi, I thought I had to go to Krabi, 100 by taxi to the pier to try my luck (there are many travel agencies outside the pier) asked around and all the cars were full, finally chartered a car with a little sister for one thousand per person, she went to Krabi airport, I went to Ao Nang Beach nearby...
There was a big traffic jam when leaving Lanta, because there was a section of waterway, the car had to get on a boat to the other side to continue, it was raining all the way, it was already dark when I arrived in Krabi, I suggest everyone to be cautious when traveling alone, pay attention to safety.
If you have plenty of time, I suggest you check the weather, stay in Lanta for two or three days, it's closer to Rok Island from here, the island has good scenery, not many people, very leisurely~

Hiking and Beach in Koh Lantas National Park
Mu Ko Lanta National Park is the only national park on Koh Lanta island, the park was established as protected area in 1990, situated in the southern part of the island.
The National Park is a beautiful area all the way south of Koh Lanta. Just the ride on the scooter is already worth it! 🛵
The park included some wild beaches, there are not many people, it's almost like a private beach. The jungle part is quite nice and chill and there is a hiking route, where you can spot lots of birds, trees and plants… 🌵 🕊️ 🌴 🏖️ The hike is one to three hours.
Ticket:
🎫 200 THB for foreigners, 40 THB for Thai
🅿️ 20 THB for a motorbike and 30 THB for a car

Is Lanta National Park worth visiting?
👏 Located at the southern tip of Lanta Island, Lanta National Park is a paradise for nature-loving hikers and diving enthusiasts who enjoy exploring the mysterious underwater world.
💥 Due to its remote location, the ecological environment is very well-preserved. Most visitors get there by motorcycle, and some arrange a car from their hotel. I think this significantly limits the experience of exploring the area. Driving south from the central part of Lanta, the scenery along the way is beautiful, with the ocean view just a stop away on the right hand side. On the way back, stop at a cliff restaurant or beach bar for a meal and a drink, and you'll find the view is unexpectedly stunning.
🏞 The rugged hills are simply a hiker's heaven! I followed the mountain road upwards, crossing about three hills, and then there was the sea below.
🌅 The southernmost tip of Lanta Island National Park—Laem Tanod peninsula cliffs—is not to be missed! I climbed the white lighthouse and stood on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the beaches that extend on both sides of the peninsula, feeling the grandeur of the cliffs and the panoramic view of several islands, as if standing at the end of the world, experiencing the charm of nature and life!
😋 There is a pavilion near the Laem Tanod peninsula cliffs where you can buy drinks and some simple food, and having an iced coconut there is just awesome!
In addition to island hopping and diving, Koh Lanta is also super fun to explore

Ko Rok Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A sea trip to Phuket might be worth skipping Similan to check this place out
🎉Open only 150 days a year
🎉The last virgin snorkeling spot in the Andaman Sea
🎉Comparable to the Maldives but at less than a tenth of the price
🎉Jelly sea glass sea + flour-like sandy beaches
🎉Fewer people and more niche than Similan
This is Thailand's Ko Rok Island!
🏖️ Ko Rok, also known as Na Ko Island, is said to be a travel destination from Phuket, but it's actually closer to Krabi's Ko Lanta. Therefore, it's more convenient to go to Ko Rok from Krabi and Ko Lanta, with only one trip from Phuket usually on Saturdays
🚤 From Phuket: 2.5 hours by boat
🚤 From Krabi: About 2 hours by boat
🚤 From Ko Lanta: About 45 minutes by boat
🤿 Snorkeling at Ko Rok is a must, even if you can't swim!!!!
On a good weather day, there will be three snorkeling spots, each more beautiful than the last, with the third spot at Ha Island being the most beautiful!
Beginners need not worry, as the boatmen will take you on a float board to see corals, sea turtles, clownfish
🏖️ Most visitors to Ko Rok are still Europeans, Americans, and Southeast Asians, with few Chinese knowing much about it. Most Chinese who go out to sea still head to crowded islands like PP Island and Similan. Ko Rok is still quite niche now
📝 Ko Rok Island Guide
1⃣️ Currently, there are basically no independent trips, only day trips by sea, which can be booked online. The boat company will arrange pick-up from your hotel
2⃣️ During the peak season, there will be Chinese-speaking guides, but during the off-season, it might be English and Thai
3⃣️ The boat ride is long, so if you get seasick, be sure to take seasickness medicine in advance (available for free at the pier)
4⃣️ Lunch is provided by the boat companies on the island, not delicious but filling
5⃣️ There are no shops or service facilities on the island, but there will be fruits, drinks, and snacks on the boat
6⃣️ There are small jellyfish in the sea this season that can sting, so it's a good idea to prepare some related medicine in advance. Being stung is very painful, and the boatmen have medicine to apply but it only provides relief
7⃣️ Be sure to pay attention to sun protection, any sunscreen not properly applied may result in sunburn
8⃣️ If you walk to the left along the beach on Ko Rok, there are fewer people and a few swings that are very picturesque for photos
9⃣️ Before disembarking, the boatmen will collect tips (not mandatory), but the service is indeed very good. It's a good idea to prepare some cash in advance
0⃣️ If you want to fly a drone, be sure to report in advance and obtain permission. Flying without permission not only results in a fine but may also lead to criminal prosecution
🏖️ Take advantage of Ko Rok before it becomes as overrun as Similan. During the open season of Ko Rok (from the end of October to May of the following year), this island is truly worth adding to your travel list!

Rok island I miss you. #merrychristmas
#merrychristmas
There are still less than a month, and in the second half of May, Locke Island will be closed. If you miss it, you will have to wait another half a year!
Compared to the crowds of Similan, the pure sea of Rock Island and the unparalleled underwater world, it is a top snorkeling spot, and its flight time and price are one-tenth of that of Madai. Its not a dream!
We reported to the delegation to participate in a day trip to Rock Island + Har Island. The first stop is Rock Island. You can choose to go to the island to rest or choose to go snorkeling. There is no accommodation and dining on the island of
everything is natural and pollution-free.
The quality of the sea is so high that it is a breathtaking blue ocean.
After the meal, I ended the trip to Rock Island and rode on a speedboat to Harbin.
Hashima snorkeling water visibility is good, sea stars, turtles, corals and other marine life can be seen clearly!

Koh Lanta Old Town Pier Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Lanta Old Town steeped in history.
Lanta Old Town is a hidden gem on Koh Lanta Island, Thailand, and truly captures the essence of local Thai culture. The people here are incredibly warm, friendly, and always willing to share their stories and traditions. As I strolled through the narrow streets, I was fascinated by the well-preserved Chinese-style wooden houses, reflecting the area's historical importance as a trading port. The vibrant colors and intricate detailing were simply stunning. The local cuisine is a must-try, with traditional Thai dishes bursting with flavors and fresh seafood that will delight your taste buds. Lanta Old Town is a serene and authentic destination worth exploring for its captivating cultural experience.#lanta #oldtown
quiet and peaceful pier in old town Koh lanta

this is so far one of my favourite islands in Thailand! there are lots of small piers for tourists and locals! this is a great place if you’re looking for somewhere quiet, close to the sea. it takes around 10 mins to walk to the pier and back. if you don’t feel like walking you can also drive the scooter all the way till the end! there is one sunken ship which is extremely picturestique, and you can also get a great view of the South Island!
overall it’s a place worth visiting #beachlife
