Old Mitsui Family Shimogamo Villa

The tenth generation of Mitsui family, Mitsui Gaodong, first moved the ancestral residence of Mitsui family, and then moved the family's residence in Kyoto, the villa with a habitat hall and wooden house, to the gate, the main building, the Wanglou, and then added a tea room and a porch. The original design of the Mitsui Yabuya is basically completed. The original architectural design was designed by Ishiro Sasaki, who designed the Ping An Shenyuan in the Ping An Shen Palace. After the war, it became nationalized with the dissolution of Mitsui chaebols, and was designated as an important cultural property in recent years and transferred to Kyoto City for renovation and open for visits. As a tourist attraction in Kyoto, it may not be too conspicuous, but what such ancient mansion buildings can impress is not gorgeous and dazzling, but the traces of years and the precipitation of history.
