Lugu Lake

Just came back from Lugu Lake, let me share my thoughts. Some people say it's worth the visit, while others regret going. In my opinion, when it comes to travel, no matter what others say, those are their experiences. You can only truly understand the feeling by experiencing it yourself. I visited during the off-season in March, there were no blooming pear flowers, but I still found it incredibly beautiful, especially when seeing the gradient from emerald green to deep blue, all of us exclaimed 'wow'. The only downside of Lugu Lake, I feel, is the distance. It takes 4 hours one way from Lijiang Ancient Town to Lugu Lake, and if you add a chartered car to circle the lake + a ride on a pig trough boat, it's 5 hours. A round trip in one day is very tiring, so it's best to arrange a two-day and one-night stay for Lugu Lake. Transportation: There is an official bus from Lijiang Ancient Town to Lugu Lake, see my last picture, it's only a few dozen yuan, don't carpool or take illegal taxis. Chartered car around the lake: If needed, the bus driver can arrange for a driver from the same company for you, the lake is 70km around, 200 yuan, fits 4 people, so it's only 50 per person. You can find people to share the ride on the bus. Pig trough boat: The price is in the second to last picture, quite expensive. We chose route 3, but there was no sea of flowers/grass sea in March, we just visited the Princess Island. If you can't find people to share the boat, don't bother booking it during the off-season, it's not cost-effective. Accommodation: We stayed at 'Lugu Lake Pusu Mijing Homestay', the environment and service were quite good. As for accommodation, everyone can choose on their own, there are many such homestays along the lake.

| Until I went to Lugu Lake... If you ask me, what is the most worthwhile place to visit in Yunnan? I would answer without hesitation---Lugu Lake Vast colorful forests, stunningly tranquil blue waters, flocks of seagulls, light clouds and breezes, it's not an overstatement to call it the romantic ceiling of early winter! This winter, take a trip to Lugu Lake, that blue will heal you for a long, long time... Lugu Lake is located at the junction of Yanyuan County in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and Ninglang Yi Autonomous County in Yunnan Province. The Lugu Lake basin is situated in the Yongning Basin and is the third largest deep-water lake in China, with a small island within the lake. The area around Lugu Lake is mainly inhabited by the Mosuo, Yi, and Pumi ethnic groups, with a population of about 13,000 people from 7 ethnic groups including the Mongols living along the coast. Walking Marriage Bridge The Mosuo's Walking Marriage Bridge, over 300 meters long, is a must-visit spot on Lugu Lake Caohai Pier Flanked by tall reeds, it's a very photogenic spot Goddess Bay From where you can overlook the entire Lugu Lake and watch the sunset

Coming to Lijiang, of course, don't miss Lugu Lake! A fairyland Daughter Country! This is the highest lake in Yunnan, and one of the deepest freshwater lakes in China. / Lugu Lake is called "Goddess Gemu" by the locals, Her untouched natural environment, The landscape of mountains and rivers like a fairyland, The primitive and mysterious folk culture all highlight the purity of this land. / "Lugu Lake Scenic Spots": ✅Daluo Water Village: The earliest developed village on the side of Lugu Lake, a relatively prosperous village, and also an area where many people choose to stay. ⛳️ The beauty of Lugu Lake is indescribable, you'll know once you're here 🤩 🏝 Do not choose to travel during the peak season A homestay that usually costs a hundred yuan can be hyped up to a thousand yuan during peak times! It's crowded everywhere, whether it's for using the toilet, dining, or visiting attractions. Remember, March and April are the off-season, while summer and winter vacations are the peak. 🏝 Beware of unlicensed taxi drivers There are no direct buses to Lugu Lake from Dali. The three of us chose to share a business car ride, costing 180 yuan per person. Upon reaching Lijiang, the original driver left us and arranged another car. Unfortunately, the new driver refused to take us to the hotel and cursed a lot, overcharging us by fifty yuan. This instantly tarnished our impression of Yunnan. Ladies! Take my advice, choose official travel channels. Take a bus from Lijiang, or fly directly from Kunming, although there aren't many flights, so it's advisable to book early. 🏝 Do not choose a rainy day to visit Lugu Lake The effect of a rainy day versus a sunny day is completely different, whether it's Erhai Lake or Lugu Lake! Lugu Lake is pure and peaceful on cloudy days, but under the sunlight, the water is lively and colorful. It's hard to tell whether it's blue or green, the clarity and brightness are something even painters can't replicate. It's so beautiful that you can't help but exclaim, 'Oh my, it's just too beautiful!' The 'Tyndall effect' of the morning sun piercing through the clouds is absolutely blinding! 🏝 Ways to travel The entrance fee is 70 yuan. Lugu Lake is not big, you can drive yourself or hire a car. Carpooling costs 50 yuan per person, while hiring a car costs 200 yuan. It's best for four friends to travel together, it's economical and you won't miss out on anything. 🏝 Accommodation Daluoshui is one of the earliest developed villages around Lugu Lake, with a strong commercial atmosphere and a higher cost-performance ratio for guesthouses, hostels, and bars. We chose the relatively quiet Nizhai Village, where stepping out the door puts you right at Lugu Lake, and the indoor facilities are surprisingly good! 🏝 Taking a pig trough boat: 150 yuan per person June, July, and August offer the best value for money, as you can see the water lilies in bloom. It's best to go early in the morning because they bloom early and wilt late. We rented a boat at six in the morning to see the sunrise and the morning mist. My friend captured the scene of seagulls soaring over the azure lake, with the morning light reflecting off the water, it was stunning. 🏝 About altitude sickness Lugu Lake covers an area of fifty square kilometers, with the deepest part reaching over a hundred meters and a visibility of twelve meters. The highest altitude is over three thousand meters. The Fuyun Homestay we stayed at even had an oxygen machine, but I didn't use it. My friend and I both took Gaoyuan An, a local Tibetan brand, and there's no need to take it in advance. Neither of us felt any discomfort, whether in the snow mountains or at Lugu Lake. Next year, for the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, we'll bring it along too.

A hotel where you can lie down for three days without going out. Among the many hotels/homestays/inns I've stayed in Yunnan, this is the only one that has received our collective approval and that we are willing to recommend to others - Yiting Xiaodao. The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, so it has an excellent environmental angle, with all rooms having a lake view. The view from the room windows is picturesque, and you can take a photo that looks like a painting. Cars can't drive up there; the hotel's parking lot is at the foot of the mountain. If you contact the housekeeper in advance, they will send a car to pick us up and help with the luggage to the room, with a service score of 100. This hotel has the best service consciousness I have encountered in Yunnan, bar none. The rooms are fully equipped with shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, etc., and the amenities are also quite good. The view in the morning and evening is different, and it's worth lying flat for a day to enjoy the tranquility away from the city. Our room included breakfast and afternoon tea. There's a great spot for afternoon tea on the mountain, where you can take photos from afternoon until sunset, and three little kittens will come to play with you. Dinner at the hotel is also very good, and the prices are very reasonable, but there's only barbecue and mushroom hotpot, with the barbecue being the tastier option. Lugu Lake

The disappearing horizon, the eternal Shambhala, feeling headache, dizziness, nausea, and fatigue at 2400 meters in Lijiang and 2700 meters in Lugu Lake Waking up in the middle of the night feeling the oxygen in the whole room is not enough to breathe, surprisingly no altitude sickness at 3500 meters in Shangri-La! The fifth picture is the once world's largest prayer wheel, 21 meters high, 60 tons in weight, containing mantras, 1.24 million six-character mantras, 16 tons of Buddhist treasures, requiring many people to turn it together. Each turn is equivalent to chanting 1.24 million times. I turned it three times. The place where the sun shines first is Jiantang in the east. The most extraordinary place in the world is Shangri-La on the bank of the Milk River. A novel created the sun and moon in my heart - Shangri-La.
