ELMS hotel at Christchurch provide with welcome drink voucher during our check in. Unluckily we don’t receive any room upgrade from the reception during 3 days of staying. location wise is conveniently and there’re various restaurants and cafes nearby the hotel! Interior facilities seem a bit of old style, and dusts on the desk and cups are observed! Not far from the hotel to the city centre where you can take boat or tram exploring around the Christchurch!
Due to heavy rain on the west coast, I went back to the town and stayed for one night. It was clean. Every room on the first floor has a back door to the garden. Breakfast is included. Bread, jam, coffee and tea are included. The whole meal seems to be 21.5 yuan. , Feng Jian by people
Location within walking distance to many restaurants. Outside view great. The room kinda small, had fridge and an electric kettle. The shower had very strong water pressure — a bit intense. Door lock not working, pillow not clean. The parking lot is across the street; I arrived in the evening and it took me a couple of rounds to find it. As a short stopover, it was okay, but not best value.
The room is clean and has a balcony. There is also a shared kitchen space inside the hotel, which is very convenient. The public space of the social hall is arranged harmoniously and comfortably. The supplies and consumables in the room cooperate with the art charity group downstairs to let travelers understand the culture of local children's art and education, which is a great accommodation experience.
The hotel was excellent. Drinks in the bar were good with great views out to sea. Dinner menu was very good. The seafood fettuccine was lovely.
The room was spacious and very clean however for a 5 star hotel we were surprised to find there were no complimentary bottles of water in the room. We enjoyed our overnight stay so much that we decided to pay for breakfast the following morning.
There was the usual selection of breakfast options that you'd expect to find. The bircher muesli was particularly good. We were a little disappointed to find coffee was served from an urn and not from a dedicated coffee machine. However if you wanted to pay extra at the bar you could order a decent coffee.
In the city center, the location is very convenient, and you can walk to the attractions and intercity stations. The window is not facing the right direction, facing the office building, and you can see each other. There is a garbage recycling place downstairs outside the window, which is a bit noisy at night. The room door does not have a lock, and there is a mosquito on the ceiling. The guy at the front desk is very nice and can speak Chinese.
It is quite close to Mt.Hutt. The room is on the second floor and the first floor is a bar. It is very convenient to eat, but it is because of the bar that there will be some sound at night, but it will not have much impact.
On our honeymoon, we drove around New Zealand's South Island. We landed in Christchurch in the evening and picked up our rental car the next day. Novotel was the most convenient choice – it's just a one or two-minute walk from the airport. Plus, the parking for all the major rental car companies is right downstairs. This was perfect for us as we just needed to grab the keys from the rental counter at the airport and then pick up the car from the parking lot the next morning.
**Facilities:** The room wasn't huge, but it had everything we needed for an overnight stay.
**Cleanliness:** The room was clean and tidy, and the sheets were spotless. We saw cleaning staff working diligently throughout the morning.
**Environment:** It's within walking distance of the airport, but the soundproofing is excellent; we couldn't hear any airplane noise.
**Service:** Very good, the staff were polite. And the breakfast was fantastic – definitely worth trying!
It's close to the airport and only takes 10 minutes by car, but it takes 20 minutes to get to the city center. The rooms are very old-fashioned and dark. If you book a garden room, you have to be mentally prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs.
It was pretty good, though the location isn't ideal. It took us about 20-30 minutes to walk from the train station. Getting to the airport required a taxi, which was easy to hail. What stood out to me was the dryer – the room had an individual one that worked really well. On our second stay, we got a combo washer/dryer in the same room type, and that wasn't as good. So, if you need laundry facilities, try to get a room with a separate dryer. I didn't have breakfast. Check-in at the front desk was smooth and quick. The room was quite clean and hygienic. It's a new hotel with large, bright windows. The price wasn't too expensive, I remember paying around 700-800 RMB a night, even in the peak season of January. That might be because I had pre-purchased a package voucher. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it; it's good value for money. I didn't take any pictures of the room.

Good
The rooms is nice. Good location for wandering to the city. Definitely worth it.
Everything was great — the room had a washer and dryer, and there was a good variety of food options nearby through DoorDash delivery. Roadside parking was available near the hotel. Just that a dust ball spotted on one pillow
Great location within 100m to Christchurch airport, good gym facility and view of the runway. The whole hotel feel very new and modern. Although it’s right next to the runway, we can’t hear any of the noise at all, breakfast is great with lots of options.
This was by far the best hotel I stayed at in New Zealand. Compared to other Hilton properties, the bed here was noticeably larger and more comfortable. I stayed in a twin room, and each bed was around 1.2 to 1.5 meters wide, whereas other hotels only offered very narrow single beds (about 0.9 meters). There was also plenty of space between the beds, which made the room feel much more comfortable. The room was very clean, well-equipped, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The location was also decent, making it a very convenient and pleasant place to stay overall. I would highly recommend this hotel — especially if you’re looking for a comfortable and restful experience.
