The lift & room was just a little bit older around the edges, but still very good! The bed was heavenly-soft & lovely, we just wish we'd had time to rest & relax more than one night in Wellington!

EExploring our one precious worldStayed one night at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor for a conference held onsite.
Check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has three separate lift banks servicing different areas â if youâre unfamiliar with Wellington, definitely ask staff to explain the easiest exit route to the city. It makes a big difference.
Breakfast was a very large buffet with plenty of options, though Iâve experienced better quality elsewhere.
The hotel itself is older but has solid bones. Perfectly adequate for a work overnight stay. For personal travel Iâd probably choose somewhere with more atmosphere, however it felt safe and comfortable.
One odd feature: some rooms face an internal terrace/window area â remember to close your curtains as people can see straight in.
Bed was clean and well made, the room was tidy, though the carpet is showing its age. The shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water â a highlight.
Overall: reliable, practical conference accommodation rather than a destination stay.

DDan WuangI stayed in a basic room with shared bathroom.
The hotel has an old style elevator which is cool.
The room comes w a heater and a face basin with a mirror which is too high unless you are 1.9m to 2m tall. Lol.
A fridge, a kettle , coffee, tea , cocoa powder and milk for coffee are provided.
It also provide a bath soap and towel.
The hotel entrance are locked after 5pm or 6pm for the safety of the hotel guests as there are no receptionist after 22:00hours.
Cons :- The shower area light auto switched off 3-5mins thus itâs scary when u are still showering , the whole place turned dark.
Both the shower cubicle and the common area in the shower area are scary when they are in total darkness. This is negative as not the right way to save electricity I guess and risk falls as well.
U can parked your luggage after you checkout for free as well.
Lastly the hotel is 20min walk from the Railway station or NZD11 on Uber. And walking distance to the Pier for some high end dining as well as nice eateries within the city centre.

CConstance_HuoLocation-wise, it's right by Wellington train station, making it a great choice if you're arriving by train or heading to London.
Facilities: They're quite old. The air conditioning was one of those large, vintage units I'd never seen before, and it was incredibly noisy, so I just turned it off. The room had a microwave and cutlery, and surprisingly, a mini-bar â which you usually don't find in hotels at this price point. However, there was a snag: no price list for the mini-bar. While I knew the bottled water in the fridge wouldn't be free, I was still surprised to be charged $7 upon checkout (when a similar bottle is around $2.50 at the supermarket).
Service: The downstairs restaurant has long operating hours. I was able to order a delicious burger after a late check-in, and grab a coffee and a pastry to go during an early checkout. Most of my positive impression comes from that restaurant.

GGuest UserThe room had multiple areas of built up dust that hadnât been cleaned in a long time, and the shower had some mould in the corner and lots of soap scum around the bottles. The silicone holes in the shower head were all cracked and so the water dribbled down. I could also smell the drain. The additional windows installed (appreciate the building is historical) didnât shut tight, which is a big problem in a windy city. The wind was howling through the window gaps when they were fully shut. Assume they were done as cheaply as possible. I was also a few doors down from the staff room, so I heard very frequent door slamming in the mornings which woke me up as it shook my door frame. Thereâs no way Iâd be paying for full price for this hotel, but for a 50% off deal it was fine. The location is unbeatable and the bed was really comfortable. The room was a good size too.

PPacificyvonnePrivate, professional excellent staff, service and amenities. Next to Te Papa museum, close to shops, restaurants and a variety of food places, New World and entertainment venues. Excellent for families, couples or solo traveller's. Recommend the Museum Appartment Hotel, an EVT Hotel to all visitors to Wellington. I will stay here again. Thank you.

FFenmaoshiguanjunStayed two nights in Wellington and overall, it was quite good. đ The front desk is on the 7th floor, and most rooms are on higher floors, offering nice views. The room was reasonably spacious and had heating, which was really helpful in early winter. Breakfast is on the 6th floor and had a decent variety. The only downside is that you have to go up a flight of stairs from the street to get to the hotel, which isn't very convenient for guests with large luggage. Sometimes the escalator next to the street isn't even working, so you have no choice but to carry everything up.

GGuest UserGreat spacious room, perfect for families. The bathtub was an added bonus I love that you can get Netflix and Disney Great breakfast lots of variety. Only disappointment was that the pool and spa are no longer an option being an extra plus on a rainy day with the kids but overall didn't diminish a positive experience.

GGuest UserNice big clean room in a great location. Onsite restaurant and bar is a plus. The property is quite dated but is in the process of a major renovation. We still enjoyed our stay and the property was great value for money.
