The room is located in a renovated old street, with a very bold use of color. It's the most 'Cuban-colored' hotel on Cuban Street. Very distinctive. All the toiletries are New Zealand's Antipodes brand, known for being fragrance-free, dye-free, and natural. The breakfast juice is also from the New Zealand national juice brand, Home... It's great overall. I'll definitely come again. It's great for photos. Each floor has a different color scheme. The room might not have been occupied for a while, as the cups and hairdryer were a bit dusty. However, for this price point, it's totally acceptable. No complaints.
The Angus Inn is ideally situated. It's directly opposite the Queensgate Mall and only a few minutes walk from the Lower Hutt Bowling Club where we were attending a function. The Inn has all the facilities that you need such as a laundry and a restaurant. The booking went like clockwork with no hassles. An enjoyable stay.

Great view of the Queen's wharf/ waterfront and good amenities (ie sauna room, kitchenette, ironing facility). Only gripe that I have would be that the hangers are affixed to the wardrobe and also the lack of bathroom/bedroom slippers)

Stayed one night at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor for a conference held onsite.
Check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel has three separate lift banks servicing different areas — if you’re unfamiliar with Wellington, definitely ask staff to explain the easiest exit route to the city. It makes a big difference.
Breakfast was a very large buffet with plenty of options, though I’ve experienced better quality elsewhere.
The hotel itself is older but has solid bones. Perfectly adequate for a work overnight stay. For personal travel I’d probably choose somewhere with more atmosphere, however it felt safe and comfortable.
One odd feature: some rooms face an internal terrace/window area — remember to close your curtains as people can see straight in.
Bed was clean and well made, the room was tidy, though the carpet is showing its age. The shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water — a highlight.
Overall: reliable, practical conference accommodation rather than a destination stay.
We had 1 night stay. Good facilities, like pool, Spa, Restaurant, however a few things need to improve to reach 4 star, like stated.
Our room was clean and tidy but some lights up in the ceiling were out, basin in the bathroom was very cracked.
We had dinner at the restaurant. I ordered pizza, where the dough was slightly undercooked, no crisp, sloppy.
Filter coffee at breakfast, that was included had a colour of weak tea. But you were offered to pay extra for a coffee on top of $30, you already paid for a buffet breakfast.
Previously stayed here before, but I think it needs a lot of improvements as it's gone down quite a bit.
A hotel for the location really. Perfect for an early morning flight. The view out the windows to the construction area below isn't great, but you don't stay here for the views. Nice smooth check-in and check-out, even at 5am.

The room is very tidy and big, even there is no parking available but the staff showed me a free space along the road to park overnight.
There is even washing machine which surprised me and it was working well.
The breakfast is good but price is 35 nzd not 19 mentioned in the trip site. I booked the room reading others' comment about the breakfast but to be honest the types of food is not so much and didnt meet my expectations.

This hotel offers great value for money. It's conveniently located, just a few minutes' walk from the subway station and commercial areas. The rooms are well-equipped, the bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is good, so I slept very soundly at night. Check-in and check-out at the front desk were quick and efficient. Breakfast was served promptly, and the food was fresh. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I highly recommend it.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe staff were very friendly, welcoming & very efficient. They took the time to go out of their way to make us comfortable.
The lift & room was just a little bit older around the edges, but still very good! The bed was heavenly-soft & lovely, we just wish we'd had time to rest & relax more than one night in Wellington!
GGuest UserHad an amazing stay .concierge to reception staff very friendly and professional. Wish we stayed longer. Having a pool and gym on site was a bonus, too.handy to restaurants and cafes.

MMarcel MeulmanIn the heart of the downtown city close to the action if you like to go out in the evening. We missed the airco as it was warm on our room. We had nice view on the church next to the hotel
AAnonymous UserAll in accommodation and services are good and you take a bus around CBD and lambton quay. Its all good! Definitely will be back here. Cheers

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is in a great location, on Cuba Street, a food street with many restaurants that can be changed every day. In addition, it is located in the downtown area and is close to various scenic spots, which can be reached in about 10-15 minutes on foot. It is also very convenient to take an Uber, and you can reach the scenic spots in a few minutes. The room is quite large, and the single bed in the twin room is also 1.35 meters wide, which is very spacious for sleeping with children. The carpet is also relatively new and feels very clean. It is the first choice for family travel. The front desk service is also very good, and there are Chinese-speaking employees. I will definitely stay in this hotel again when I come to Wellington next time.
