Great
GGuest UserThe room isn't huge, but it has everything you need. The service was pretty good too. I had a minor issue, but the Chinese butler, Joey, was fantastic and sorted everything out, taking care of every detail. I'm really grateful to Joey and would recommend this resort island to friends because of him. The scenery is truly beautiful. During my stay, I didn't encounter any other Chinese guests on the island, mostly Russians, so it was a pure relaxation, 'lie flat' kind of vacation. There are also many restaurants to choose from on the island, and the prices are quite reasonable. Plus, there's a free speedboat transfer service to and from the airport.
GGuest UserIn our opinion, this hotel feels a bit like a Turkish resort. Since we came here after staying at Tinadhoo, the differences were quite noticeable. The restaurant doesn't have a great view, but the variety of food is decent, and there's a kids' corner. Buggies transport guests around the island, which is very convenient and fun for children. What we didn't like is that because of this, there are a lot of concrete paths, so you can't walk barefoot. The service was a bit disappointing; it felt very mass-produced. They didn't respond about our transfer or contact us themselves, so we had to find their counter at the airport on our own and call the hotel. This was probably because we weren't arriving by plane. We also didn't receive a welcome bag, and the bed for the third person was only made up after we called reception. These are minor things, but you tend to notice them more at a resort. Overall, we liked our villa; it wasn't new, but everything was well-maintained. In front of our villa was a lagoon, and beyond that a breakwater, so there wasn't really an ocean view. However, thanks to the breakwater, the lagoon was very calm. There's a reef, but it's quite monotonous; the corals are brown and all look the same, and you can only swim over them at high tide. There are large fish and stingrays, so there's enough to see for a couple of days. Overall, it's not bad, but we definitely wouldn't return. It would probably be a good choice for families with children, though, due to its proximity to the airport and kid-friendly amenities.
AAngela1314maxiuLet's start with the positives: The food on Ganfan Island was truly excellent and perfectly suited our family's taste. The Thai and Bo restaurants were both delicious, and Midi was also delicious. It's right by the pool, and there's a super nice ********* lady who I consider my favorite waitress on the entire island.
The black guy who greeted us upon arrival was the worst in my opinion. He chewed gum, was inattentive, and never smiled. Fortunately, he realized he had trouble communicating with me (his English was limited), so he replaced us with a Malaysian guy, who immediately put me back on vacation. The rest of the staff on the island were all very good.
Secondly, the value was excellent. A four-night all-inclusive water bungalow for 22,000 yuan was fantastic (5,000 yuan a night is cheaper than some hotels in Sanya), and there's a 20-dollar daily credit per person that can be used off-island.
With kids in tow, and wanting a smooth island landing in the afternoon, this was a no-brainer. It was a no-brainer. We were literally in our room in just seven minutes.
Cons: It's close to Male, offering a panoramic view of the entire city. One side almost faces it, and at night, it's dotted with lights.
The snorkeling is average, with almost no fish beneath the overwater bungalows. After just one snorkel, I felt too lazy to get in the water or change clothes. The pool was fine.
Overall, it's suitable for beginners (I've visited various islands at least 20 times), so it wasn't particularly impressive.
It's a great place for families with children to relax and take their kids out. The island is neither too big nor too small.
JJeffGCIf you are looking for a Maldivian getaway that balances island relaxation with a bit of ”city” energy and variety, SAii Lagoon is a fantastic choice. Unlike the more isolated private islands, this resort is part of the CROSSROADS Maldives project, which means you aren't just limited to one resort’s dining and activities.
🚤 Location & Arrival
One of the biggest perks is the 15-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. After a long flight, being at the resort and checked in within 30 minutes is a luxury in itself. No waiting hours for a seaplane!
🛌 The Room Experience
The design here is very ”Boho-Chic”—bright, colorful, and modern.
• Sky Rooms: Great value with a beautiful balcony view of the lagoon.
• Beach Villas: The direct beach access is worth the upgrade. The ”creature comfort” pillows and the ability to customize your own bathroom amenities at the Aroma Bar were unique touches that made the stay feel personalized.
🍴 Dining & Activities
This is where SAii really stands out. Because it’s connected by a footbridge to The Marina @ CROSSROADS and the Hard Rock Hotel:
• Variety: You have access to over 10+ dining options. We loved Miss Olive Oyl for Mediterranean flavors, but having the option to walk over to the Hard Rock Café or the Ministry of Crab at the Marina kept things exciting.
• The Hub: The Marina has a discovery center, shops, and a beach club (Café del Mar style).
• Snorkeling: The house reef is decent, and we spotted plenty of colorful fish and even a few small reef sharks near the overwater walkways.
💡 Pro-Tips for Travelers:
1. Download the App: Use the SAii App to request buggies or book dinner tables—it’s much faster than calling the front desk.
2. Explore the Marina: Don't just stay on the SAii island. The sunset views from the Marina pier are some of the best on the island.
3. Hilton Honors: If you have status, the perks here (like breakfast or room upgrades) are well-recognized as it’s part of the Curio Collection.
Summary: Perfect for couples or families who want a vibrant, social atmosphere rather than total isolation. The proximity to Malé makes it the ultimate stress-free Maldivian escape!
Would I return? Absolutely, especially for a shorter trip where I want to maximize my time on the sand rather than in transit.
AAnonymous UserClose to the pier, the rooms are clean and spacious, and there's a pool with a beautiful high-angle view of the ocean. The fly problem in the restaurant, mentioned in previous reviews, has significantly improved; I noticed the hotel placed fly traps. However, the Wi-Fi in the room still occasionally disconnects, and I hope this can also be improved.
Kkellyy56Very nice and comfortable accommodation. Went with a friend of mine back in October 2023, and we were greeted by a warm friendly receptionist and a clean lobby. Our room was on the second floor, with very comfortable beds, toilets, and necessary amenities. Except that the sink's tap water smelled a little funny which we avoided using. However the reception was quick to send over whatever we requested, like water, clean towels etc. Would definitely book again if i ever visit Himmafushi again next time!
EEmre_BasogluWe had an unforgettable stay at Grand Park Kodhipparu, and everything about our experience exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the personalized service stood out! The team was incredibly responsive and quick to reply to our messages throughout our stay. The welcome and in-villa check-in were detailed and thoughtful, with a staff patiently answering all our questions and making us feel completely at ease.
We stayed in the Reef Water Villa and absolutely loved it. Snorkeling every day was a highlight, as the marine life was rich and vibrant. We were lucky enough to see sea turtles from our balcony two mornings in a row. The shark tour was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and something we will never forget.
The biggest highlight for us was the candlelight dinner under the stars. The meal was delicately prepared, and having a personal host and chef on a private beach for the evening made it incredibly special and romantic. Everything felt perfectly arranged just for us.
We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for exceptional service, breathtaking surroundings, and unforgettable experiences. We can’t wait to return!
GGuest UserAmazing Stay at Arena Beach Hotel
Beautiful beach vibes with a clean, hotel-allocated beach front long beach with refreshing dring service. and an infinity pool with stunning sunset views. Rooms are clean with sea view, with basic amenities with daily water, tea/ coffee, and towels are provided.Special thanks to Abishek from HK he was very attentive he acknowledges my request and resolved very quickly as my bathroom faucet was leaking.
Food & Drinks: Wide buffet & à la carte options at affordable prices, with non-alcoholic beverages. Dinner with live music made evenings extra special.
Sisha option was also a alternative choice as island not serving alcohol.
Breakfast buffet was good healthy choice with friendly service staff specially Hasan ali (friendly and professional man) Abash attentive and prompt service.Hasim/mahmood and one indian lady from Lucknow( good recommendation and suggestive selling) Nightlife & Activities: Relaxing and charming nightlife. Night vibes was really amazing dining ambience is same as five star resort level.
Water sports like stingrays and sharks snorkelling and Sandbank full days tours were unforgettable.
Reservations cheking and checkout processes was little tired For guests on long journeys who arrive early at the airport (e.g., 9:00 AM) but have transfers to the island only at 13:00, consider providing alternative options such as a comfortable lounge, refreshments, or earlier boat transfers. Waiting 4+ hours after a long 9-hour flight can be tiring, so small adjustments would greatly improve guest experience.
Special thanks to BERLIN as he is only senior label staff who always asked feedback with friendly manner and engage to guest relation service.provided all the information needed about our stay including chekin check out process make everything smooth and easy.
Value for money: Excellent. A beautiful island stay you won't forget!
RRaquel MonrealOne of the best decisions I made during my trip to the Maldives was staying at Oblu Select Sangeli. I had an incredible and unforgettable experience there. I booked the water villa with private pool and it was stunning, offering the perfect balance between luxury and privacy. The private pool was the ideal spot to enjoy the sunsets and turquoise waters.
The staff were extremely attentive and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed during my stay.
If you are looking for a luxurious experience in the Maldives, I highly recommend the Water villa with private pool at Oblu Select Sangeli. It truly was a dreamy destination, and I can’t wait to go back!
HHamizahOI recently stayed at Sheraton Full Moon Maldives in one of their Overwater Villas, and it was a truly memorable experience. The villa was beautifully designed, clean, and well-maintained — offering direct access to the crystal-clear waters and stunning panoramic views of the ocean. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect escape for relaxation and rejuvenation.
The staff throughout the resort were generally excellent — friendly, helpful, and attentive. They handled all requests promptly and with professionalism. A special mention goes to the hotel management team, especially Mr. Megan and a few others, who went above and beyond to resolve a minor incident during our stay. Their approach was calm, respectful, and solution-focused, which left a very positive impression.
Most of the team displayed great hospitality, especially at reception, housekeeping, and concierge. However, the only slight downside was at ”The Feast” dining area, where a few staff members appeared less engaging and rarely smiled — a contrast to the otherwise warm and welcoming service standard across the resort.
