This is my third time staying at InterContinental Changsha, and it's still as good as ever. Before I even arrived, I proactively contacted Rarity from the Club Lounge, and she immediately noted my preferences and arranged the room accordingly. Throughout my stay, I received warm hospitality from every staff member.
In particular, the Executive Lounge service was fantastic and pleasantly surprising. The lounge offerings were richer than before. On the last night, during happy hour, I couldn't eat spicy food or beef. The lounge staff, Miss Zhang Xinyi, immediately had the chef specially prepare a bowl of tomato and egg noodles for me. It was incredibly thoughtful! I hope the lounge continues to get even better.
Chen Liyun, from housekeeping, was also very meticulous and attentive, providing us with a clean and comfortable living environment. My husband and I were reluctant to leave and hope to return again if we get the chance.From£74

I chose to stay at the W Hotel Changsha for my birthday during the National Day holiday.
1. Location & Transportation: It's located in Yunda Central Plaza, just 3 subway stops from Changsha South Railway Station. The closest subway station, Changsha Avenue Exit 1A, is only about 100 meters away. You can take Line 2 directly to popular attractions like Juzizhou, Wuyi Square, and Taiping Old Street, making transportation very convenient. Next to the hotel is Yunda City Plaza, a shopping center, so dining and shopping are very close by.
2. Facilities & Hardware: The facilities are quite new. Upon entering, there's a full-length mirror in the entryway, and opposite it, a large platform for luggage. The room layout is unique, with separate entrances to the toilet and shower on the left and right, divided by a wall in the middle. The toilet, curtains, and sheers are all smart-controlled, and the hairdryer is a Dyson, which is great. I especially want to mention how comfortable the bedding was; it was the best sleep I've had while traveling. The only minor drawback is that the toiletries in the shower are placed too low, requiring you to bend down every time you use them, and then water drips into your eyes, which is a bit inconvenient and messy.
3. Service & Dining: Before check-in, I received a call inquiring about my check-in time and room type preferences. The check-in process took a bit longer, but since I arrived early and there weren't many available rooms, it's understandable. When I mentioned I was very tired from catching a high-speed train late at night and needed an early check-in, they approved it quickly. However, I missed out on the special birthday room decoration that was discussed over the phone beforehand, which was a bit of a shame. When checking out, because I was so tired from playing the day before, they also helped me apply for a late check-out. After check-out, staff members followed up to ask about my stay experience. The first round of the minibar in the room is complimentary, with many local Changsha soft drinks. Breakfast is extended until 2 PM, which is great for late risers. Lunch and dinner can be ordered and delivered to the room, and the bar is open until 2 AM, with reasonable prices and a great ambiance with background music and night lights.
4. Design & Public Areas: While maintaining the W Hotel's usual trendy and avant-garde style, W Changsha incorporates themes of aerospace, starry skies, and exploration. It offers much better value for money than staying at a City Convenient Hotel. The hotel is also just a few minutes' walk from a Line 6 subway station, making transportation quite convenient. I brought my family here for a vacation and decided to try this newly opened hotel since it offered family suites and the location by the river was quite good. The facilities are indeed very new, and the amenities chosen are also of good quality. If I had to pick faults, one is that the bathroom lacks a place to hang clothes, which is quite impractical and doesn't offer any privacy. The other issue was on the last day when I requested housekeeping; it took a long time for anyone to show up, and when they finally did, they threw away food I had just bought from my room… This clearly shows a lack of proper training, and although the hotel did compensate me, it still affected the overall experience. Overall, it's still a good stay. Especially the river view rooms, they offer great value for money and I recommend staying here.From£28

This is my second time visiting Changsha, and I stayed at this hotel before and really liked it, so I rebooked without hesitation this time. And once again, I was very satisfied. The room is well-equipped and spacious, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. There's also a large wardrobe, a fridge, a microwave, and a washing machine. The front desk staff are very helpful and efficient, always meeting our requests. Downstairs, there's a 24-hour convenience store, and just a short walk around the corner, you'll find Tea Color Delivery and Yuanyang Coffee. The subway station is less than a ten-minute walk further down the road, and across the street, there's a large shopping mall with plenty of food, drinks, KTV, and even Haidilao. Most importantly, the hotel is very close to the city center, including Wuyi Square. I came to Changsha this time to see a concert at Helong Stadium, and it was also very close, less than a 30-minute subway ride away. All in all, it's extremely convenient. If I get the chance to visit Changsha again, I'll definitely choose to stay here. I wish the hotel great success!From£29

Every time I come to Changsha, I choose the Grand Hyatt.
Thanks to the staff at the Grand Club for helping arrange my usual room. It's on a high floor, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows directly overlooking the Xiang River, and a clear view of Orange Isle. The room was also set up in advance according to our usual preferences, showing the hotel's thoughtfulness and respect for its guests.
Due to the large number of guests, the Grand Club's happy hour has removed the chef-served dishes and added one more dish to the buffet. The food tastes good and has a strong Hunan flavor. Compared to before, they've also added Changsha's local snacks. Most of the staff at the Grand Club are new hires, but they are very enthusiastic and eager to help. It would be even better if they were more proactive in clearing plates.
Room service was also very thoughtful and prompt, though I hope the cleaning could be a bit more meticulous.
Breakfast at the buffet restaurant on the first floor is very rich, with many Changsha local specialties: fried pork with chili noodles, stinky tofu, sugar oil粑粑 (a sweet fried dough), chuanyan粑粑 (another local snack)... everything you could want. My favorite before was the handmade fresh meat buns, but this time, the quality seemed to have declined. Some buns weren't hot enough, and some had very little meat filling, which was a pity. The mini steamed buns, however, were quite good.
We also tried the buffet dinner. It happened to be the monthly birthday party on the first of the month. The restaurant was decorated for birthdays, had a singer, and prepared a large cake that all guests could share. There was also a lucky draw, and birthday celebrants for the current month received a 50% discount. All arrangements were very thoughtful.
The buffet dishes were very rich. The salmon was fresh and tender, and the female chef was very generous with thick cuts. There was also a wide variety of seafood. The live seafood tank had abalones and various shellfish. There were steamed swimming crabs served at the table, chilled king crab legs, Arctic sweet shrimp, large shrimp, mussels, as well as spicy stir-fried seafood, grilled oysters, and pan-fried foie gras. Restaurant staff also used a cart to serve parma ham with melon and sparkling wine, adding to the sense of occasion.
The restaurant's desserts were also delicious. The durian egg custard was served in a cute eggshell-shaped container. The black truffle flavor in the black truffle Basque cheesecake was very rich. Even the tiramisu came in both matcha and coffee flavors. They were sweet but not cloying, and very delicious. Hyatt Group's dining standards are indeed consistently high and did not disappoint. The restaurant service staff were very proactive in clearing plates and always attentive to guests' needs.
In short, our trip to Changsha Grand Hyatt left us very satisfied, and we will choose it again next time we come to Changsha.From£87

They even provide disinfectant and laundry detergent, and there are thoughtful reminder notes in the bathroom, which is really convenient. The room was pretty good. The gym is on the 4th floor and it's a commercial gym called 'Ai Jianshen'. It was quite busy during the summer holidays. The pool has three lanes: one for lessons, one shallow, and the middle one for swimming. 1. Orange Isle: the great symbol of the Xiangjiang River
Orange Isle stretches out in the middle of the Xiangjiang River and is one of Changsha's most iconic spots. From its walkways, you can take in the city's skyline and Mount Yuelu.
Its most recognisable image is the large sculpture of the young Mao Zedong's head. The site also features gardens, wooded areas and spaces from which to view the river.
The island is quite long, so exploring it entirely on foot takes time. If you'd prefer to shorten your visit, check the availability of internal transport.
2. Hunan Museum: a journey to Han Dynasty China
The Hunan Museum houses one of the most important archaeological collections in the province. Its most famous exhibition brings together the findings from the Han tombs of Mawangdui.
Among the preserved pieces are lacquerware, silk manuscripts, garments, musical instruments, ancient maps, and the exceptionally well-preserved body of Xin Zhui, known as the Marquise of Dai.

3. Yuelu Mountain and Yuelu Academy
