The room is big and amenities all great! The only thing is room is under central air conditioning. At this season, hotel yet to turn on the air conditioning to cold. The room temperature is 27 Celsius degree and is way too hot for a hotel room.

Staff is very helpful and genuine to help and extend support. There are issues that are beyond the front desk staff ability. Key bing the aircon in tve room are of poor quality despite have changed the room. The aircon is noisy Also in the hotel house keeping can be improve. Room housekeeping are not properly done during my 4 nights 5 days stay. On several occasions, the face basin was not properly cleaned, snd the basin mirror has stain remaining suggesting it was not cleaned. Towels were not replace completely. The Reception floor toilet is not clean regularly and after mid day it smell repulsive every day I was there. I wa disjointed that this is a Wyhdam franchise hotel

The hotel is in a great location, very close to the Drum Tower and Yu Huang Ge (Jade Emperor Pavilion). Yu Huang Ge is right outside the hotel, and the Drum Tower is just a few minutes' walk away. James Joyce Coffetel has a rich coffee culture, the rooms are very clean, and the beds are comfortable.

Overall, the hotel was decent. Initially, I was given a strangely shaped room with an awkward layout and no view. After they moved me to a different room, it was much better. The capsule coffee machine wasn't working at first. A staff member came to fix it, and while it started working, no coffee came out. It only worked after I changed the capsule. When the staff member came to fix the coffee machine, she knocked and I said 'wait a moment,' but she just opened the door and walked in. This definitely needs some training. Other than that, everything else was good, and the service response was very prompt. There's one minor issue: after every service request, customer service would call to follow up. Personally, I found this very redundant and disruptive. Shouldn't departments communicate internally to confirm if service has been delivered, instead of repeatedly bothering guests?

This hotel is perfect . I love it The rooms are super cozy and staff are very service minded . Surroundings is very beautiful & quiet and in evening can enjoy the scenery in the cultural city Nearby is coco park ( mall ) and otherwise it’s easy get a didi from the road .

The bathroom had state of the art facilities. The room was comfortable and well designed. Having a translucent window worked well for me as the room was quiet. The front office and housekeeping staff were competent and polite. Location is superb. It's on the corner of the Gulou Pedestrian Mall and Xinhua Road. Only the tinu lobby is on the ground floor and the exact entry is not evident. Look for the overhead crossing, the escalators and the Sony shop. There are many places to eat: on the mall, off the mall and all the small lanes.

Normally, for a hotel at this price point, I'd give a 5-star review for an uneventful stay. But this experience was honestly quite frustrating. First, the housekeeping tried to force their way into my room. I wanted to sleep in, so I had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on and the door deadbolted. To my surprise, housekeeping knocked twice around 9 AM. I was half-asleep and didn't answer. Then, I was shocked to hear them use their card to open the door directly! If it hadn't been deadbolted, they would have walked right in! When they realized they couldn't open it, they swiped again and pushed down the handle, trying to get in. The door alarm startled me awake, and I shouted, 'Who is it?!' They replied, 'Do you want cleaning?' I said no, not right now, and they just left – seriously, the most 'relaxed and free-spirited' housekeeping service I've ever encountered. Second, the soundproofing in the room was terrible. The guest next door was on the phone all morning, and I could hear every single word clearly, even the person on the other end of the call. It was impossible to rest. After I changed rooms, I could still hear conversations from next door, indicating it wasn't just an issue with one specific room. The only thing I was satisfied with was the front desk's service attitude. They were enthusiastic and proactive, helping me switch from a king room to a twin room and apologizing for the housekeeping issue. However, their explanation was: 'The housekeepers are newly hired and haven't been fully trained yet. They don't understand the door signs.' They also mentioned that while housekeeping staff don't care about review ratings, the front desk manager faces pressure over scores and hoped I could understand their difficulties and still give a 5-star review. This explanation was confusing, but following their request for understanding, I can raise my 2-star review to a 3-star. As for a higher rating, I'll leave that to other guests to give once their staff are 'properly trained'.

The newly opened hotel is very good overall. The booked big bed room has been upgraded, the room space is enough, the decoration is simple and generous, the facilities are brand new, and there is no smell. The sanitation is very clean, the beds are clean and tidy, the mattresses are moderately soft and hard, and the sleeping is very comfortable. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, it is convenient to wash, the daily stay is completely no problem, and the price is very good.

Overall, my experience was pretty good. I originally booked for three days, but due to a last-minute change in plans, the hotel was very accommodating and allowed me to cancel, which I really appreciate! The breakfast selection was also quite varied. The only downsides: the afternoon tea was genuinely disappointing. I'm not sure if it was included in the room rate or a complimentary offering, but if it's not done well, it's better not to offer it at all. I've had complimentary afternoon teas at many hotels before. They might not always be delicious or aesthetically pleasing, but they usually excel in at least one of those aspects. Unfortunately, yours didn't manage either, which was a bit of a letdown. Another thing was the phone in the room... it still had some fruit residue left by the previous guest. The cleaning certainly wasn't thorough enough.

Easy parking. The ground parking lot at the door is charged, and the hotel's underground garage is perfect for winter travel. You can park for free by entering your license plate number at the front desk. The front desk service attitude was very good and they enthusiastically told us where we could have breakfast. The room was also very clean and tidy. What I want to complain about is the heating in the house. I have to turn on the air conditioner to keep warm at night. There is also the water heater, so you have to hurry up when taking a shower alone. I called the front desk and was told that the hotel's water heater was too small. If there is no hot water in the sink, then it is not enough for taking a shower. The water was not enough for the two of them to wash their hands. After waiting for a whole night, I took a shower alone the next morning, but there was still not enough hot water, so I basically took a half-cold shower.
