We recently stayed at Discovery Samal, and overall, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. The resort itself is beautiful—clean, modern, and well-maintained. We really loved our room and the amenities; everything felt comfortable and high-quality. The beach and pool areas are also great for unwinding. That said, there are a few things to note. It was very hot during the daytime, and even the reception area (with fans only) felt quite warm. We first went to Malabar Lounge for drinks while waiting, and later tried the billiards to pass the time. We went back to the reception twice to follow up, but the room still wasn’t ready. We understood since check-in is at 3 PM, but we were told they would call once it was ready—and we didn’t receive any call. It might be because the signal is weak in some areas (there’s no signal inside the billiard room). If we hadn’t gone back to the reception at 3 PM, we honestly wouldn’t know what time we would have been allowed to check in. The check-in process itself also took a bit long, and we were only settled into our room around 3:30 PM. Also, since it’s a luxury hotel, food and drinks are expectedly on the expensive side. Despite these, we still had a great stay. The place is perfect for relaxing, and we truly enjoyed the experience overall. We’d still love to come back—maybe next time with family.

Many previous guests also praised the staff’s politeness and readiness to help.  We stayed in a studio apartment, and it was nothing short of comfortable. The room came with a kitchenette, a coffee/tea maker, minibar, and free WiFi — extremely convenient whether you’re staying briefly or planning a longer stay.  The modern fittings and thoughtful layout made it easy to relax or be productive: there was enough space to move around, and everything was clean and well-kept. Cleanliness, indeed, stood out during our stay — a point frequently echoed by other guests.  One of the highlights was the leisure amenities. We took full advantage of the outdoor swimming pool — a serene little oasis perfect for a morning dip or evening unwind. The fitness centre, spa, and wellness offerings added to the sense of pampering. For those traveling with kids or family, there’s even a kids’ pool and a family-friendly vibe.  Breakfast and dining at the hotel also deserve special mention. The buffet breakfast was generous and satisfying — a great way to start a busy day in Davao. For lunch or dinner, the on-site restaurant served a mix of Thai, Asian, international, and European dishes, giving a variety that could cater to different tastes and dietary preferences.  The presence of a café and even a pastry/deli option made it easy to grab a light meal or snack without leaving the property.  Location is another strong suit for Dusit Thani Residence. It’s conveniently located near the airport, which is a big plus if you have early flights or late arrivals.  At the same time, it’s still close enough to city amenities, shopping, and other attractions — offering both convenience and comfort. Many guests appreciated this balance of accessibility and tranquility.  That said, no stay is perfect, and a few aspects could be improved. Some guests mentioned that certain rooms felt a bit cramped or that balcony areas were under-utilized due to cleanliness concerns.  There were occasional gripes about maintenance — for example, shower drains draining slowly or small furniture quirks — and a few found the elevator access between towers a bit awkward, especially if coming from parking.  A minority even felt the place fell short of 5-star expectations in certain respects.  Still, for us, these were minor blemishes compared to the overall positive experience. What stood out was how the hotel blends comfort, convenience, and courteous service with enough extras to feel like more than just a “place to sleep.” The pool, spa, and kitchen-equipped rooms make it a strong choice for families, couples, business travellers — essentially anyone who values a balance of luxury and practicality. In conclusion: if you’re looking for a stay in Davao that offers more than just four walls — a place that feels both refined and welcoming — Dusit Thani Residence Davao delivers. Its attentive staff, well-appointed rooms, great amenities, and strategic location combine into a memorable experience. We had a really great experience at Pearl Farm Beach Resort. The service was excellent, and the transportation arrangement was smooth and well-organized. I definitely felt like I got what I paid for. The staff and crew were very accommodating, polite, and attentive throughout our stay. Whenever we needed something, they responded right away. I also appreciated how friendly everyone was, some of the crew even helped take our pictures, which made the experience more memorable. The food was also delicious, and we truly enjoyed it. I’m giving 4 stars for cleanliness because I noticed there was a bird’s nest in the Samal House we stayed in, and there were times when bird droppings were present in the area. I hope this can be improved for future guests. Overall, it was still a wonderful and relaxing stay, and kudos to the whole team for their hospitality and excellent customer service.

Upon checking in, the front desk informed me that the in-room Wi-Fi was under maintenance and wouldn't be available during my stay. The room's cleanliness was decent, which is quite good compared to other hotels in Davao. Its central location in Davao makes it convenient to get around. There's a public market nearby, which I recommend checking out if you want to buy fruits like durian – good quality and reasonable prices. All the hotel staff were very friendly. Overall, I'd still recommend it. If in-room Wi-Fi is important to you, I suggest contacting the hotel before booking to inquire about the network status.

I had a wonderful 4-day stay at Acacia Hotel Davao, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed with their warm hospitality and attentive service. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The hotel facilities were well-maintained, and everything felt organized and guest-friendly. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The food was also excellent, with a good variety of choices that catered to different tastes. Overall, my experience was outstanding, and I would definitely give Acacia Hotel Davao a 5-star rating. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Davao who’s looking for comfort, great service, and a memorable stay.

I had a good stay at Grand Regal Hotel. The hotel is a decent place to stay, especially if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful and relaxing. The pool area was actually one of the highlights… clean, spacious, and great for unwinding after a long day. However, the location is a bit inconvenient since it’s quite far from malls, convenience stores and other establishments. The rooms were also a little old and could use some renovation or upgrades. Overall, it’s a good hotel with nice amenities and friendly atmosphere, but not the best option if you prefer modern rooms and easy access to shopping or city attractions.

It was an amazing stay in Dusit Thani. Their breakfast have good variety everyday. If you request for bacon they will make one for you. The staff are very accomodating and i like how they greet the guests all the time. The spa is amazing very relaxing and the gym is clean and open 24/7. Pool is nice. We got the nice view from the 5th floor. Everyone is super mabait and amazing from the guards to reception, to staff and housekeeping. Will recommend this hotel to my friends who will visit Davao

I like the standard room, it' s good for 2 persons although the leg room is quite limited but over all it is ok. The place is serene and calm, it is ideal for middle aged and persons who like a quiet place to stay. And to top it all, there is a huge park outside where you can jog early in the morning or in the afternoon. I like the experience

At first, I thought it might be a bit weird, but I like how clean and clean it is, and I like it even more because my privacy is protected. And I plan to use it again next time.
