Kinross Boutique Vineyard Hotel

We chose this hotel because we expected to enjoy its winery/food. Otherwise, we should have stayed in Queenstown with a lot of restaurants and pubs. As we would arrive in the early evening, we put a note for our hope for experiencing their winery and food (or at least finger foods) when we booked the hotel, and received email that they cannot guarantee but will do their best to serve our need. Since then, no email was sent to us. When we arrived at the hotel around 6 pm, no one was in the information desk, so we had to go to the bistro to find out that they left the key in a safe box without any notice or sending us any email with its password. We had to wait a while for the bistro lady to make a phone call to whom it concerns, which was okay. Worse, we heard that their bistro was reserved for a group event so we could not use the facility at all. We had to drive 15 minutes to a nearby town and bought foods from a supermarket. I think the hotel should have notified us of impossibility of using their bistro/food service due to the group event and we have to prepare for our food. As I checked out, I left a note about the issues, and expected they would send me an email to express their sincere apology. Unfortunately nothing happened so far. Although I liked the room as well as the whole place very much, I think Kinross cottage needs professionalism to run their stay program. It could have been much nicer, memorable stay experience.

The chalet was very clean and cosy with air con and ceiling fan, it was 29 when we were there. Breakfast basket had a good selection and there was milk, butter, ham, cheese and fruit juice in the fridge. Plenty of tea and coffee. There is a major road nearby and we found the noise quite intrusive overnight. The bed and pillows wee a bit hard for me but that’s personal choice. The shower was excellent . We found the host rather disinterested and skipped the wine tasting. We were also shocked by a $12.65 surcharge when we presented our debit card for payment. We were told it was because we had used a contactless credit card, (it was debit , and we had not been charged a surcharge anywhere else in the previous two weeks). Shoulders were shrugged and we departed. Rather ruined our stay.

Great place to stay with different choices for rooms. I stayed in 3 different rooms. I liked the Double private rooms that had a bathroom with shower. The double bed was comfortable & there was also a single which I used for my luggage. It was roomy enough for 2 people but traveling solo it was really perfect. The shared kitchen & lounge area for this building (one upstairs & another on 1st floor) were huge & clean. Due to a last minute booking at end of my stay I had to stay in a 4 bunk room (just me in the room) that was small & I thought dark. However, the bunk was comfortable & the shared single shower was on the same floor but toilet was on 1st floor as were the lounge & small kitchen. There were only 3 rooms in this building that shared the facilities but for me it wasn't the best. However, I highly recommend the Lodges other rooms & all rooms were very clean. When I changed rooms I put my bags in a secure storage until my next room was ready. The staff was exceptional & the location great. It was about a 10min walk to the main part of town which had great restaurants & stores. In the other direction was a grocery about a 5 min walk from the Lodge. Wifi was very good & they give you different codes because one was only good for a certain length of time before it expired. Also you need a different code for each device you use. I really enjoyed my stay here & would choose it again.

John and the lovely Barbara we there in our time of need. We had such an awful stay in Dunedin we looked for something better and by golly didn't we just! This fantastic Bed and Breakfast was an oasis of calm, peace and happiness. The welcome we received was second to none and the glass of wine on the terrace was just the tonic we needed. The building is modern with all up to date amenities, something which cannot be said of a very large part of NZ motels, sadly. Super modern room with fantastic bed, magic shower and spotlessly clean. Great TV offering including Netflix, another facility in excess of the norm, 5 channels, if you are lucky, in most motels etc. They have a guest kitchen where we cooked a meal, all the facilities you would have at home. The terrace outside our room overlooked alpaca and sheep and a lake. Fields and trees abound. I could wax lyrical about this place forever, it deserves a 6. The sleep quality was excellent, quiet with no sounds from other rooms. Breakfast in the main house with John in attendance, what a great guy, good fun, interesting to talk to. Breakfast was super, cereals, choice of breads, home made jams and marmalades, fruit, yoghurt and muesli, ample for anyone, but you can have cooked for a very small extra charge if required. We met some lovely people and had a good laugh,it felt very much like home. I would thoroughly recommend you stay here, and John and Barbara had been to Torquay in England where I was born, what more can you ask. Top Notch.

My husband and I stayed here for a stop in Queenstown for our honeymoon! Centrally located and close to the downtown! Rooms were very clean and great to have parking for our JUCY van! The check in office was great helping us out with an issue of double booking. I highly recommend you stay here! Drive over to the Bungy bridge, Skyline luge and Ferburger!

Our room #5 was of moderate size with kitchen facilities and a balcony overlooking the street and park. I found the room more comfortable than I expected from the photos though given the size of the room it might be nice to have had a cozy chair for reading. Otherwise you could sit on the bed or at the table. As mentioned by other reviewers, parking can be a challenge if the few spaces under the hotel are unavailable. But the waterfront, restaurants (try Botswana Butchery and Eichardts) and the gondola are just a 5 minute walk away. I would stay here again.

We had a good stay, enjoyed the daily simple breakfast with the fantastic view of the snow mountains from the restaurant. We were able to do simple cooking for my family. The dinning and recreation area was cosy and we spent a lot of time there after our daily sight-seeing. The cleaning and support staff (we understand they come from another country to work in NZ) made our stay at the lodge more comfortable. When we informed them our warmer broke down in our room, a female and male staff came and inspected our warmer in our room. Thereafter, the male staff brought us additional blankets and portable warmers to keep ourselves and our 4 kids warm - KUDOS! It is a good value accommodation for my family - considering for the price that we had paid as compared to the prices of other accommodation in Queenstown, NZ.
Arrowtown House Boutique Hotel

The hotel only caters for adults and has only five rooms . The rooms are spacious with a comfortable living area and large ensuite with bath and shower. The breakfasts were excellent and taken in the adjacent dining room that includes a comfortable lounge area. The manager, Victoria couldn't have done more for us, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is a short, pleasant walk from Arrowtown where we experiences a couple of excellent restaurants and with Queenstown about a 15 minute drive away good restaurants abound.

A very satisfying stay experience! The host was very nice and entertained us warmly. He talked about local customs and travel recommendations, and even took us to visit his fruit and vegetable garden, just like we were guests at a friend's house♥️ The house was clean and tidy, with complete supplies and a well-kept small garden, where we could sit Looking at the beautiful scenery on the other side from the balcony, it is comfortable and comfortable💐 Five-star recommendation🌟
