The staff is really nice and helpful, they gave me good recommandations for Tainan and my next trips as well, I cancelled my last nights because I changed my plans and they gave me a refund. There are workshops every evening (learning how to make coffee, cocktails,...) in a friendly atmosphere so it's easier to meet people from Taiwan and travelers from other countries alike. The hostel is really well located, just next to the train station so it's very convenient. The hostel entrance is located inside the Family Mart. There are several showers, toilets and the washing machine is free, so as the breakfast. Highly recommend!!! :)

The proprietress is very welcoming. The location is next to Shennong Street, which is very convenient for shopping. There are also three cute cats in the homestay. There are many delicious teas, which is a good accommodation experience.

GGuest Uservalue for money. 24 hours' ice cream, tea and coffee is great to travellers. The front desk officers are friendly and helpful. The officer knew that we were going to use the laundry and he accompanied us. He is a great assistance to us. Thanks for the caring of the staff. One thing needs to aware is that the cafe has limited space, better to phone to enquire the seating availability before going to have buffet breakfast.

GGuest UserSomer Hotel is a gem of a place to stay in Tainan. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay, one being the tatami room and one Western hotel style. Both were spacious, clean, and really comfortable. My favorite part was the snack and drink tray provided and refilled each night so that guests can try delicious ********* food. The breakfast provided was varied and delicious. You do have to reserve the time you want to eat, but that prevents long lines and crowding during the meal. The lounge where breakfast is served is also a nice place to hang out or do work outside of the hotel room. Other amenities like wifi and the bathroom products provided were great. Service was really good and the staff was extremely welcoming and helped us to call a taxi when we needed one. The hotel is in a great location and is easily walkable to historical landmark Chikan Tower and numerous restaurants and markets. I would definitely recommend Somer Hotel as a home base for exploring or even somewhere to take naps and relax while experiencing all the amazing food that Tainan has to offer.

The staff members' hospitality, understanding, and listening for their professional performance are the facts that need to be stressed. The location in a giant sports park is desirable and attractive for the scenery. The pagoda beside the park is not frightening at all! The cleanness of the room and restaurant is just lovely. I enjoy the choices in breakfast, and the chic environment is a plus for customers to try.

GGuest UserWhen checking in 8/20, the service staff first arranged in room B03. When checking in, they found that the air conditioner had been turned on and the remote control was set to 16 degrees, but the air conditioner detection showed that the temperature in the room was 27 degrees. After half an hour of observation, they found that the air conditioner only sent out the normal temperature wind, no cold wind came out. (Photos are attached to this review to view) So the first time I responded to the service staff, I was asked to send someone to the engine room to check the repairs. Later, I waited for another 10 minutes. The second time I reflected to the service staff, the response was ”the machine room is located inside a room, the room is occupied so there is no way to overhaul the air-conditioning outdoor machine”. I asked if I could help change the room. The room staff replied ”Yes”. Then the staff began to tidy up the next room B04. When the service staff is sorting out room B04, I follow the staff into room B04 to check the condition together. The staff knows that I care if the air conditioner is normal, so turn on the air conditioner and ask if I can accept it. I am sure the cold air has started to be delivered. and agreed to change to this room. But the service staff also told me that the faucet on the bathroom sink in Room B04 was inconvenient to use because the fixer fell off. I asked if I could not accept it. I wanted to say that I had already trouble the other party to help me change the room. The faucet was a small matter, so I responded acceptable. Then the staff began to tidy up the B04 room. After about 10 minutes, I changed my room card to room B04 with my friends and colleagues. On the same night, close to 23:50, when I returned to my room, I found that the abnormal low water pressure caused the shower head to have less water and no hot water, and found that the toilet did not contain water, so I reluctantly washed the cold water with lower water pressure.

GGuest UserCome to Tainan with my parents, walk from Tainan Railway Station, it is not very far, but with luggage, at the train station to go up and down a big road, if you want to be comfortable, you can also consider taking a taxi. The first feeling at the entrance of the hotel is that the heavy door is deeply locked, unlike other hotels. Find the door button on the right, press it down, and the door will open. The counter staff were very careful to serve us ice tea, and took us to the room to introduce us. Thank you for your care. But in fact, I think the introduction of the room can be brief, because it is already very tired, I hope to rest immediately when I go to the room. The corridor of the hotel is very dark, you really have to be careful when you look at the road! If you can improve it, it will be dangerous because the elderly can't see clearly when they walk! Light is also better for security! The air conditioning in the room is not enough during the day, but the hotel has a fan in the room to help. Air conditioning is enough at night. The bathroom is spacious, the toilet is high, and the shower is very watery. The bed is moderately hard and soft. Especially like the room is useless, so it feels cleaner. The room has coffee but no tea bags. We went to the counter to ask, thank you for the counter staff also gave us, but it is better to provide it in the room. When we went out, thank you counter staff for calling us a taxi, the car arrived soon!

GGuest UserWe stayed two nights in Roots Inn Tainan, I think it’s highly recommendable. The rooms are simple, but clean. It’s got a mini fridge for you to store all the delicious goodies that you may buy in Tainan. No bottled water nor coffee/ tea in the room, but all is provided in the 6/F communal living room. It’s a nice setting to enjoy after a long day out, we bought some snacks from the food stalls near by back to the living room because of heavy rain outside. The living room has all the dining ware that you’ll need, and a nice big dining table to spread your feast out. Location is very convenient as the alleys nearby are filled with food stalls at night. Service is excellent, we asked for extra hand towels and hand soap, they provided that to our room while we went out. The receptionist mentioned to us that even after check out, we are welcome to rest in the 6/F living room before we had to leave, which is very nice. On a side note: BMS cafe nearby is excellent for western breakfast and coffee, we went there for both mornings during our stay.

CCuipingThis time I stayed in a standard quadruple room. The room was as large as the space displayed in the photos of the website. The toilet was also very large. There was also a bathtub for children to play with water. The shower head was water pressure enough and the water temperature was stable. The cleanliness of the room is also as clean and odorless as netizens say. As for sound insulation, we lived on the 7th floor and did not encounter problems with poor sound insulation. There are water dispensers, coffee machines, tables, chairs, and sofas in the lobby on the first floor of the hotel. It is convenient to have dinner with friends when you come back from outside. The parking lot is very close and the nearby life function is convenient. Trip.com After booking, we have a plus hotel Line. It is very convenient to contact directly if you have any questions before check-in. If there is any problem during the stay, the counter staff will kindly reply. A very warm hotel, and I will want to live in Tainan next time.

GGuest UserStrategically placed in the center of Tainan City, smack bang middle of the transportation hub. It is right behind the Main bus stations (North and South) which all buses in the city stop by (some start from those stations), so it would be very convenient for you to get around. As for the Train Station, it is a 3 minute walk from the hotel, which makes easier for people to travel further but still feel close enough to comeback. The hotel it self its pretty okay. The beds are clean and soft, they have a big bathroom, and spacious rooms for the most of it. For a budget hotel, i think its about worth it. The only downsides in my opinion are the windows, they layered them with black stickers and leave maybe a 10-20 cm gap that we can see through. Though it was buildings only buildings outside, feeling that you have more window view wouldn't be so bad. And the other thing, is the walls are a bit thinner, so it could not contain our noise neither our neighbours. Still, I understand that's a trade off. Overall, It's an okay place to stay.

CCharles JoseHotel and building was a little dated. Our room was overly basic in a state or repair. There was a terrible mould smell in the room which we did not like. The bathroom was nice and clean though. The location was pretty good too. Not too far from the station, close to the night market, and close to subways and bus routes. Definitely wouldn’t stay again and would look at paying a little more for a nicer hotel.
