I came to Zhangye for one reason only: to stay at the Silk Road Walker Youth Hostel! Once you check in, you'll feel right at home. The owners are incredibly kind and the place is unbelievably clean – even cleaner and more comfortable than many hotels I've stayed in. Since I'm a light sleeper, I booked a private room, and it was super quiet at night, so I wasn't disturbed at all! If you need help with your itinerary, you can ask the owners directly; they'll arrange everything perfectly for you, and the prices are even better than booking elsewhere. There are also three adorable, well-behaved, and super friendly cats that are just so soft and cuddly – a cat lover's dream! After dinner, you can hang out in the common area and chat with other guests. I made several new friends there, all young and easy to talk to. Finally, I've attached some travel photos~

I stayed in a 4-person room. The room was minimalist and medium-small, with lockers – basic but comfortable. The common area is stylish and inviting, with plenty of seating, cozy corners, plants, kettles, and power outlets, though it’s on a high floor with a glass ceiling – warm when hot, cozy when cold, and the few fans aren’t always enough. The staff at the desk were friendly, laundry facilities available, though no snacks or cold drinks. The area is urban, among regular buildings, so not particularly attractive from the outside, but within walking distance to the museum and the metro station, with a large supermarket and several food options nearby. Overall, a decent place to stay in Lanzhou.

This trip to Lanzhou brought me a great sense of security because of this folk custom! Absolute surprise, great value for money! The first thing I felt when I entered the room was that it was clean and tidy, and the lady boss was super welcoming ❤️For me, a foreigner, I’m really lucky👍 I’m traveling as a girl, and the sisters I live with are also super nice, so we went together I watched the concert, ate local specialties together, and even made an appointment to check in to Lanzhou together. The landlady also thoughtfully recommended me check-in places and routes. How lucky I am to meet all kinds of people. The accommodation environment is clean and sanitary. The sisters who live with me are all very qualified. They are not noisy or noisy and will not affect your rest. The service provided by the landlady is also good. Believe me, I really recommend this folk custom!

This is the worst youth hostel I have stayed in on this trip. When I arrived at the front desk, no one was there. I had to call to see someone when checking in. There was no refund if I didn't want to stay. The sanitary environment is average. The bathroom can only be used in the morning. The shower and toilet are together. The smell is indescribable. I wanted to upgrade the room but there were no other rooms. When I checked out, I wanted to get my 100 yuan deposit back in cash, but was told that it would be refunded via WeChat. However, I witnessed with my own eyes that foreigners can get their deposits refunded in cash? I asked for the cash deposit back in person, but was told that you can complain about us... Bad review!

We temporarily increased the price and switched to a river view room. Opposite is the Yellow River and next to the mosque. The location is very good and the transportation is convenient. We basically rely on walking to visit the scenic spots. We have no fault in terms of cleanliness. I am used to staying in star-rated hotels or I don't care about the accommodation. People with high requirements should not stay here. The boss is quite nice and recommended delicious food to us.

The facilities are very complete, washing machines and refrigerators are also available, washing machines are also free to use, suitable for friends to travel together or travel alone, are good choices

I stayed at this hotel in Zhangye and had a great experience. The rooms are spacious, bright, and clean, with a good shower. Laundry is available for a small fee. The host is friendly and very helpful – she even took care of me when I was sick. They offer well-organized local tours at fair prices. The location is convenient, within walking distance to main sites and the vibrant night market, with restaurants and shops nearby, and not far from the train station – just a short ride away. Free quality tea is available all the time. Overall, a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

The location is close to the station, a good choice for business travel or temporary accommodation, just need to contact the owner of the hotel in the community to get the password to check in

This is my third stay here. It's very convenient, very close to the train station, and the environment is great. The owner is very welcoming, and the house is cleaned daily. It's so much better than the hotels I stayed in for over 100 yuan that were in terrible condition.

Bean sprout is a traditional building with rooms off a courtyard.  The owner and rosewood chairs with cushions warmly welcome you.  Communicate is via translator apps. The beds remind me of ikea furnishings with a larger lower bed than the upper twin.  The owner organized a very interesting day trip for me to the mts with Buddhas and Danxia colorful earth The women with me communicated via app with German, French and Italian as well as English. Sadly, I caught a cold from the lack of heat for two hours in both directions with the van transport which had very good chairs.  The following day the owner helped me realize I had another day to stay and offered to order me breakfast and later a local noodle dish.  She also explained to my hotel receptionist how to ship my pj’s to me!  I can’t thank her and her husband enough for their hospitality.
