You can sit in the yard and chat casually with strangers, or you can go back to your room and find some quiet. I really like the boss’s plans and attitude towards the youth hostel. Making money is one thing, but providing warmth to everyone is also important. She will control the number of people in each room to ensure that there are not too many people, take care of guests who come in late at night, and listen to your stories if you are willing. I wonder how many of us who live under steel and concrete are like me, not only going out for the scenery along the way, but also wanting to find a little kindness from our fellow human beings in today's cold and indifferent world.

The hostel is a very particular Japanese style place. Although the first night it was a bit cold, the owner let me move to another room and the tatami room was fantastic, warm and cozy. She is definitely the best part of the hostel; a kind and helpful old lady who runs one of the best hostels I have been to. Moreover, the location is perfect and the bathroom are quite clean, plus the laundry service is free!

Great place. Warm and friendly staff. You can book transportation with them to go to the attractions around Zhangye at a reasonable price. Clean and quiet place to relax. No toilet paper or towel for use however, otherwise I'd give them a perfect score.

The spaciousness and impeccable maintenance of our accommodations, coupled with the inviting reading/working enclave, afforded us both tranquility and productivity. This inviting setup was made even more special by the attentive presence of Padma and Dorje. Their hospitalities proved to be a highlight of our stay, as they not only welcomed us warmly but also lent their expertise to enhance our exploration of Dun Huang’s treasures. Their guidance led us to uncover remarkable places that enriched our travel narrative. It is with utmost sincerity that we endorse this establishment to fellow travelers seeking both comfort and cultural immersion.

The place where I stayed was very close to the Liguancheng scenic area, and it was just a short walk away. On the left is the first pier, and on the right is the hanging wall of the Great Wall. A taxi fare is about 10 to 20 yuan either way. The bathroom has a toilet and a squat toilet. It costs five yuan to do laundry.
