Hostels in Jiangsu, China

A group of middle-aged guys, in our 40s, reunited after thirty years. To relive those late-night dorm chats, we picked this hostel and booked a six-person room. It was really great! Seeing the bunk beds immediately brought back the memories. Not to mention they also had retro gaming consoles and a pool table. Absolutely fantastic, highly recommended for reunions!

I was immediately impressed upon entering! The lobby felt incredibly luxurious, and the front desk staff were warm and polite. Check-in was super fast. The room price was also very reasonable, offering great value for money! The hotel's location is excellent too, right within the Fuzimiao Scenic Area, making getting around incredibly convenient!

This is my second time staying at Backpacker and it truly feels like coming home – so warm and welcoming! The environment is still fantastic, and from the common area, you can see half of Suzhou's old city and the Gate of the Orient in the distance. This time, I'm even more familiar with the route. There's a KFC and Domino's Pizza right outside, making dining incredibly convenient. To get here, just take Metro Line 2 to Shilu Station, exit from Exit 12, and walk about 100 meters to Backpacker. It's super easy to find! Backpacker continues to provide a great environment, with clean blankets, bath towels, and even Nongfu Spring bottled water. The restrooms have disposable toilet seat covers, and the shower gel and shampoo are also excellent.

The bed was good and comfortable. Headroom of the bed is excellent. Location is excellent, close to eatery outlets and right at the centre of city. Only a small locker is available I was lucky enough to get a bed with slightly larger locker which can fit my backpack. But other locker are small, which can hardly fit a backpack. Only two bathrooms and two toilet available. It is indeed challenging when everyone is queueing. Also, washing machine is available, but no dryer is available. In overall, it is good place to stay.

I rarely find hostels like this; it was so comfortable and reassuring 😭 The hostel owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel almost embarrassed. She spoke so gently and thoughtfully, making me feel right at home. I chatted with her for a long time; she even lent me her umbrella when she mentioned it might rain, and offered me fruit from the table. She also recommended some good restaurants 😋. The room was spacious, incredibly clean and tidy, with a wonderful atmosphere. The cats were very friendly, and the location was great—there were breakfast stalls right outside, giving it a lively, local feel. It was a very comfortable stay, truly the best trip I've ever had. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance! I hope the hostel owner recognizes me then, hahaha~

This hostel felt like a warm haven during my travels. Its location is fantastic, just a short walk to both bus and subway stations, making it super easy to get to all the major attractions. My favorite part was definitely their rooftop – with its artificial turf and twinkling fairy lights at night, it was incredibly romantic. Enjoying a beer while taking in the night view completely washed away the day's fatigue. The bunk beds were very sturdy and silent when you moved, and each bed had its own power outlet, which was a really practical design. The washrooms were so clean you could walk barefoot, and the hot water came quickly with great pressure. In the evenings, there was often live music with someone playing guitar in the common area. These thoughtful touches made me genuinely sad to check out. Absolutely five-star recommended!

First off, the host was incredibly thoughtful. The environment was very comfortable and quiet; you can really tell the host puts a lot of effort into running this place. I've stayed in many hostels, and this is the first time I've seen a shower with a small clip to pick up hair from the drain – the host is truly meticulous and caring. The rooms and common areas are all very neat and clean, and the facilities are brand new. The layout and flow of the different areas are very well-designed and comfortable. Big thumbs up! It's right in Xinjiekou, so you don't have to worry about finding places to eat, and transportation is quite convenient too.

Check-in was super smooth, and the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming. The subway station is right downstairs, as is Hema (a supermarket). The lobby has arcade games and a projector, and the room itself was new and spotless.

This hostel is perfect for solo travelers. Its location is super convenient, close to both the subway and bus stations, and just a short walk to Guanqian Street. The hostel environment is quite good, with a large common area. The showers are also very convenient, with separate sections for men and women, private stalls with curtains and stools, and good wet/dry separation. The service was excellent. I arrived a bit early, and the front desk staff patiently showed me all the different room types. I ended up choosing a double room near the entrance. The step up to the room was a bit high, though – even at 168cm, I found it a little challenging. Also, the wooden floorboards on the step were quite noisy, and I was worried about disturbing my roommate. My room was right by the lobby, and even around 11 PM, people were still chatting and making calls on the sofas. Despite these minor points, overall, it was a fantastic stay!!

Very nice hostel. The room was good and so quiet. The girl at the reception was so nice and speak english. I got the room for me alone, it was only 3 chineses girls doing pictures who slept in the hostel. The location is so great as it close to the main touristic place. The toilet was very clean. Nothing bad to declare.
