Hostels in Jiangsu, China

This is one of the largest hostels I've stayed in in recent years. The social common areas are also huge, but completely separate from the sleeping quarters, so they don't disturb your sleep at all. There are plenty of bathrooms and laundry facilities, so you never have to worry about them being insufficient. In the evening, I played some ball and chatted with some young students in the common area, reliving some college memories. That night, four US boys in my dorm were buying tickets to go out of town, and I even got to use my rusty English, which I haven't practiced in years. But these were all long-awaited experiences, bringing back the YHA student vibe I hadn't felt in years.

A short walk from the metro station, and it is located in between fuzimiao and laomendong. Very convenient! There is also a foot reflexology place across the road. It is a bit difficult to find at first as the entrance is a little hidden. It looks like a hotel. Bed is a little hard ilike some reviewers mentioned. They provide slippers and toothbrush but not towels. You can buy a disposable one for 5yuan at the counter. There were also no hand towel in the room even though there’s a sink, and no hand towel or paper even in the shared toilet! I think the toilet security could be better. The entrance of the women’s toilet faces the men’s room, and when I’m at the sink washing my hands or brushing my teeth, I feel awkward in my pyjamas when males open and close that door. In addition, there is NO locks in the shower cubicles, when I was showering, someone opened the door… and the shower doors are translucent, from the inside I could see people opposite me showering… it is a shared floor so I think adding a code for the entrance of the toilet or changing the doors of the showers to be opaque and with locks, would make it much safer

This was my first time staying in a hostel, and I had a really great experience; I've already recommended it to friends. It's an all-female hostel, very safe, and the common areas are clean, tidy, and cozy. The twin room wasn't huge, but the bunk beds had enough outlets. The service was excellent. The showers are private rooms and there's a vanity area. You have to put on your own bed linens, but they were very clean. There are lots of delivery food options nearby. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Backpackers Hostel (Shinian), a famous name among backpackers, and having read many reviews about its supposedly poor hygiene and slow elevators, I decided to book a stay in Suzhou. Honestly, it wasn't bad at all! The only real issue was the trash cans in the bathrooms; they weren't emptied frequently enough and often overflowed. The cleaning staff seemed a bit lazy – why can't they check the bathrooms once an hour? As for the elevators, I thought they were fine. With three elevators, I only had to wait a few minutes at most.

Fantastic hostel. I was sad to leave. Staff super kind and helpful. Bed very comfortable. Located right in the tourist district, super easy to access the central sites. The common area is wonderful,, with lots of comfortable seating and great views of the busy street - feels like a coffee shop. Strong and reliable wifi. Free hot and warm drinking water, plus a microwave. Cons - In winter the whole place was very cold, as they leave the windows open in the bathroom and common areas even when it's 13 degrees. Had to wear two jackets all the time. - Because it's in the tourist district, there's mostly just overpriced tourist restaurants around. Walk a few blocks west and there's normal neighborhoods with better options.

The owners are incredibly welcoming, and they have a very friendly black dog you can play fetch with. The place was fully booked that day, but the owner still offered a complimentary upgrade to a private room. The overall environment is lovely, featuring a small garden where you can swing. The rooms are also very cozy, giving you the feeling of stepping back into a quaint small town from over a decade ago. However, the cleanliness of the bathrooms and washrooms left something to be desired, making it perhaps best suited for guests who aren't too particular about their hygiene facilities.

First time in Zhenjiang! This is the house I live in! Great location Facilities: Complete Sanitation: Clean Environment: Large room! The living room is also very large Service: Thoughtful and enthusiastic! The boss and his family are very nice. Just opposite Zhenjiang Station! Remember South Square, South Square! There are several delicious noodle shops nearby! Good run home! Wanda Plaza is on the left! Haidilao is just downstairs! The price/performance ratio is amazing! First the highlights: perfect location! Directly at the metro station and well connected to the main attractions of Suzhou. Plus, the staff helped me to order things from *******, quite helpful. The room and bed were clean as well! Now, the downside to consider: there are not enough showers/toilets. The bathroom was really disgusting in the end. There's also some noise from outside, but that didn't bother me so much.

Location is good and easy to find. 2 min away from metro. Downsyates there is a Starbucks and McDonald’s. The common area is huge. Cleanliness in common area is okay but rooms are cleaned every day. Everything on the same floor. Most hostel mates are long time living here

My experience has been incredible because the hostel I’m staying at feels like home. The staff is incredibly friendly, warm, and always willing to help. Everything is extremely well-organized, and the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. The location couldn’t be better—it’s just a short walk to both the subway and bus stations, making it super convenient to get around the city. On top of all that, the prices are very affordable, but the quality of service is top-notch. For such a reasonable price, they really go above and beyond to ensure guests have a great experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay—it’s truly a hidden gem
