We spent almost a week in this recently reopened hotel under new management. The hotel rooms have been renovated so pictures on this site are outdated. We had two double rooms which had everything we needed. Breakfast was very generous with proper coffee. It is rare to find a restaurant where everyone from our family can find something from the menu. We have two teens who can be fussy and they were quite happy to eat in the hotel restaurant almost every night. Cakes are baked by their cook. They also offer a good variety of non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails. Prices are very reasonable. Staff at this hotel made us feel welcome during the whole stay. Can't wait to go there during warmer months to sit on their terrace. The location is great: 5 minutes from the center and train station and up to 10 minutes walk from the ski lifts. I can definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant to everyone.

Very nice place, although there were some problems with the room. Good food and good wines, but I write this review to pay particular compliments to the maitre Rocco; Very good, very friendly and professional, it is really rare to find people so good at doing their job and rare to find experienced people, like him. I will probably return with my family and I also hope to find him again and to find the same environment.

I had a bad experience to report an in Hotel Bergidyll . We (3) went on 22 nov 22 night for dinner. On entry, we were told that the credit card machine is down and we need to pay cash. It is a nice restaurant as Sean Connery stayed there when shooting goldfinger in the 60s. Next, we were introduced a lobster pasta for 3 and when we ordered Amarone from the wine list, we were told it was out of stock and the waiter pointed to a chf 55 barolo 2020. We said we don’t want that as it was too young, the waiter then recommended another 2015 barolo. All these were done off menu. The bill turned out to be chf 476 and the lobster pasta cost chf 280! The barolo cost chf 140. It is even more expensive than the Chedi. We didn’t ask the price as we were in Switzerland when everything is done properly. It seems like the restaurant only wants to do our business once. They jolly well know that the dishes are overpriced. The meal was okay and the service was excellent. The hotel was purchased by Samih (the billionaire who developed andermatt) but leased out to a private operator. The policy of the restaurant needs to be more transparent on the price. The lobster pasta was good but we felt that chf 280 for a dish is just out of character. We would be ok if it was at the Chedi. All prices for dishes and wine need to be published or told to clients before selling , the feeling is no good even when the foods and service is good .

We could not have had a better week’s stay and ski in Andermatt at Hotel Bergidyll. The food and staff are next level excellent. The hotel has everything you need from apres ski, chilled but delicious dining, drinks, continental breakfast, comfy and clean albeit simple rooms with small bathrooms but the real highlight for us were the incredible staff. We’ve never stayed in a place with such a smiley, fun and efficient team. This place is a hidden gem in a world where you can often pay a fortune - we’ve never found value for money like this anywhere in the 25 years we’ve been skiing. We can not wait to return, we feel like this is our secret but no doubt people will find out about it soon. Whatever you do don’t skip out eating at the Pot Luck Club in the hotel - it was a highlight of our stay, compliments to the chefs. We will be back.

Outrageous price! Well located opposite the Chedi, this pizzeria should be avoided! Price transparency is obviously not their strong point. We ordered a pizza to share for 3, a burrata and 3 antipasti. Total: 80.- CHF! Scandal! The bottle of still water cost 11.- and the children’s syrup 5.50. The 3 empty plates that were used to share the pizza: 3.- per person…. A word of advice: flee this place! Or eat at Chedi, it will cost you less!

Lunch at the restaurant very well located opposite the Chedi. Nice decoration. Average kitchen. But outrageous price! A bottle of water CHF 11,— a syrup for children CHF 5.50, cover CHF 3,— per person. In short, a pizza, a mozzarella and an anti pasti CHF 80.—. At this price, eat at Chedi!

Arrivals of fresh fish are presented at the table. We tasted the mussels. On our second visit, we enjoyed the Tomahawk with vegetables and risotto. The wines are also excellent and the service is worthy of the hospitality found in Southern Italy.
