We’ve just returned from a 5 night stay at Stella island and to be perfectly honest it was really disappointing!! Good bits - it’s aesthetically pleasing, very clean and the staff around the pool are really attentive. The shampoo/shower gel/conditioner in the rooms are really nice touches. Bad points - the food is very samey day in/night out, if you’re a fussy eater you may struggle! Drinks are really disappointing, they are very very slow at bringing them and when you go to the bar they tell you to go back to your seat. It’s not unusual to wait 30mims plus for a drink, I think this is because they don’t want merry people walking around the place. It’s in the middle of nowhere amongst derelict land and you really can’t walk anywhere to do anything. We got a taxi in to hersonissos to go for tea one evening €15 per way. If you like a change of scenery then this probably isn’t the best place for you. It’s right under a flight path which didn’t bother us but some people may find low flying aeroplanes every 15/20 mins during the day annoying. The constant selfie taking by people there does become rather annoying at times especially when your trying to relax and there on every walk way, leaning against every palm tree/wall/water fountain/sun bed there in the pools taking pics/videos. We stayed in a pool view room and it was very standard nothing special at all!! All in all it was a relaxing place but massively overpriced, £3k for a 5 night stay with hardly any drinks and rubbish food is ridiculous. Would I recommend this place…….. absolutely NOT Will we be returning ………. Absolutely NOT Would rather spend my money on other hotels we’ve visited that are far nicer and cheaper 👌

Let me start with the good: The resort is aesthetically beautiful, cannot fault how it looks, the cleanliness and comfort. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. Staff members George and Nick were very pleasant and helpful, Ana in umami was also very very nice. The rest were mediocre. The water park next door in stella palace was great fun and the food there was 100 times better, you could also get ice cream and snacks, compared to nothing at stella island. Also had better atmosphere and music, we chose to spend our time here over stella island. We stayed all inclusive, however this was a mistake as they only serve local alcohol as included, and for a double jack daniels and Coke they wanted to charge me 24 euros. Considering we were all inclusive we found this extremely bad and expensive. Myself and my husband are big foodies and the food here was the worst I've experienced on holiday. The breakfast buffet was fine, there is something for everyone. Lunch we found tastless in both the buffet and La parella. The first 2 evenings we ate at the fish and Greek restaurants. The fish was so vile we actually sent back. The second night in the Greek we also had an awful experience. Our drinks didn't arrive until we finished our mains. Efficiency is not present in 90% of the staff at this resort. The food this evening was basically a can of beans and 4 bites of lamb. You could certainly never put on weight or feel full up at this hotel. We did however go to umami and this meal was amazing. They gave a normal portion, not a child's portion here and this was the only restaurant on resort we experienced any sort of flavour in the food. Despite being all inclusive we ate outside of the resort every other day. The alcohol here is extremely watered down, so asking for doubles is needed or no alcohol content. Ordering a drink takes approx 45 mins. They do not want you to drink excessively at any point. If you wait to be served by pool they will only come once every few hours. We also experienced some attitude when asking for double measures. We found this hotel was a complete waste coming to all inclusive. For the first few evenings the entertainment, if you can call it that was absolutely diabolical. They had a violinist and that's it. This is not a place to come if you enjoy any sort of atmosphere or 'good vibe'. If your main goal on holiday is to take Instagram pictures this is the place for you.

Currently here on a 7 night stay with a group of friends. The resort is so clean and every member of staff is so helpful. So far eaten in a couple of the restaurants and the buffet restaurant every bit of food I've had I've loved. There really is something for everyone and allergies are catered for one of our party is gluten free last night she had her own dessert. Rooms are tidied every day. Pool areas are clean we are in a swim up room. Tip - on arrival book your restaurants.

My husband and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary alongside our friends, who were on their honeymoon. We are all in our late 40s/early 50s. Stella Island is utterly beautiful - both to look at - so well tended and thoughtfully put together, but also because of the wonderful, friendly and attentive staff. We had been warned that April could be grey/cold, but we hit the jackpot with 7 days of sunshine, blue skies and 24 degree heat. It was perfect... in the day time, but COLD at night! (All the summery evening dresses I had brought went home unworn, leaving me wishing I'd packed more socks and jumpers!) The 3 a la Carte restaurants were absolutely top notch - We had incredible meals in all of them. The flavours were perfect and exciting, with presentation to match. There were so many good meals, but special mentions go to: Grouper Tartar at La Parrilla (lunch menu) Shrimp Orzo Pasta at La Parrilla (lunch menu) Umami House Special Nikkei at Umami Veal/Aubergine/Quinoa at Makuti (Brunch Menu) The evening buffet was fine - not sure what was missing as the food was fresh and plentiful... it just didn't match the incredible food we ate elsewhere. Breakfast there was wonderful though and I had to stop myself from over eating (the bread is really tasty, as is the greek yoghurt and honey). As mentioned, the staff were so friendly and charming (shout outs to Kristianos who served the pool from the Cabana bar, Georgio at La Parrilla and Georgios at Makuti). We also really appreciated the attention to detail, even down to the staff uniforms. Everything was so beautifully cut, very elegant and it suited all body shapes. Really smart. Things I would change? This is probably my age, but there are Instagrammers littering the place; using phones over dinner, using their partners as photographers to capture the perfect moment but then ignoring them away when from the camera. Retaking the same shot over and over because an eyelash was misplaced... it was quite entertaining (and baffling) to watch, but it was also a bit much. If you timed crossing the bridge wrong, you could get caught behind a photoshoot and be stuck for a while! Also - the taps! These were overly complicated and had a slightly different mechanism in each location, so you had to re-learn how to turn them on! Finally - there are no lights by any mirrors in the room, so you cannot see properly to put on make up or shave. And, something that drove me mad - there are only 2 hooks in the room but you are provided with 2 robes, 2 bath mats, 2 beach towels plus 2 bath sheets and 2 face towels per room! As a result your personal decked area outside the room is littered with drying towels, as there's nowhere else to hang them! However, these are really minor things and came no where near spoiling this beautiful, tranquil resort.

We loved Stella Island! I really do believe the staff are passionate about giving a good guest experience. We travelled at the start of April and it was fantastic weather, though this is a gamble as it is not always as warm. We stayed in a private villa, which I highly recommend if you prefer a more quiet experience. The outside area of the villa is lovely, with a table under the cabana at the end making it easy to get shade etc. We really loved the villa. The only downside I would say is there is a lack of storage. This may not be a universal issue, but we were there for a week and I do not travel light! The pool is slightly like plunging into an ice bath, but we are aware this is a result of the time of year. The room was always clean and the Stella app made it very easy to access any extras - towels, iron etc. The bed is very comfortable too! The restaurants provide very high quality meals. At this time of year there are only 3 restaurants open and there isn’t as much evening entertainment as peak season. This wasn’t an issue for us but if you like more variety and evening shows I would recommend peak season. The buffet provides a lot of options including freshly cooked meals. It is clear they are going for a high standard of food. I am a fussy eater but up to there were things I would eat, though for us the room service provided meals that were delicious so you don’t even need to go there if you don’t want to! There are many options. There really some outstanding members of staff. For us, all Giorgos, Rania, Giwrgos and Giannhs from Makuti bar as they were consistently providing fantastic service. Of course, Ms Anastasia, who is truly one of kind. She is so passionate about every single guest experience! In the restaurants, Ioanna stood out to us as going above and beyond. The f&b manager was always keen to receive feedback and ensure his guests received the best seamless service. The room service was just fantastic. The staff were happy, polite and nothing was too much for them. We cannot thank these members enough for everything they did for us. There are so many more positives I could write about but it would be far too long! I recommend for people to experience it themselves to truly understand how wonderful it is here. After our experience we are keen to return in the summer to the resort during a time where all aspects are open and even looking at other hotels within the Stella collection.

While the resort, taff, and services are the best, the doctor clinic is very unprofessional and the doctor and staff are caring or ensuring the patient health is their top priority. The main concern seems to be billing the customer and not looking after their patients. Very bad experience. Best option is to go to the nearest hospital where professionals provide best caring service.
