I had a business trip to this beautiful property in Baku. As far as I understood, it is newly rebranded hotel. I was staying in standard room. The room was spacious, but work desk was what I was looking for in order to work on my laptop. I contacted hotel staff and Mr. Ali Aliyev, who was on duty that day, promptly contacted me and offered me to change my room. But my room was enough comfortable for me, so we sorted out my issue by putting a chair and desk into my room. I was happy with the service and hospitality I faced, thanks to Mr. Ali and other hotel staff. Keep it up! Surely will come back again!

Good day to everyone!😀 We are the first time in Azerbaijan and we made the right choice of hotel👍! The rooms are large and clean. Here there is a pool of saunas a few that's free. The kitchen is also delicious cooked. The staff is polite. By the way, there is a restaurant and a separate jazz club. I liked the restaurant delicious cooking😃 Thanks!

Lovely hotel located in the Old City of Baku. The check-in was really quick. The hotel room was spacious & clean. The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Anything required was provided immediately. The restaurant (Natavan restaurant) on the 4th floor had a lovely view of the entire city. The food was good. However, I hope they could improve a bit on the breakfast. The breakfast served was mostly the traditional dishes. Overall it was was good, However, they need to keep some more hot breakfast items. The best part of staying at this hotel was the location. Everything was a 5 - 10 min walk to most of the tourist attractions - Shirvanshah Palace, Miniature book museum, the double gates, Nizami street, Phalharmony gardens etc...

It can be said that Baku is the most cost-effective international hotel, from the front desk to the room service are very intimate. As for the room size, it is a hotel near the old town. Quite disappointed. Firstly, do not book the breakfast. There is no choice at all, it’s porridge or omelette every day - you can’t even get your eggs done another way. The woman who serves it just stands blankly in front of you without saying a word, doesn’t explain the options, when pressed just replies “omelette” over and over. This is served with a croissant, a few olives, and a bit of bread on the side etc. The croissants are soggy and inedibly chewy at the bottom, clearly from frozen, literally couldn’t eat them. Bread is rock solid. We initially thought the price was decent when first booking breakfast (and hadn’t had it yet) but the street is full of cute places offering actual nice breakfasts for half the price, so it’s very high for the area. There’s also no air con in the restaurant and the sun hits it directly so it’s very warm. Besides the sad breakfast, the experience was mixed/poor. Besides the strange interpretation of customer service in the restaurant, staff are generally pleasant and ready to help with luggage. The bathroom is well stocked with toiletries and has a spacious shower, and the hotel’s location in the old town is ideal. 15 minutes from fountain square, maybe 10 to the promenade. Now for the flipside: only one flat pillow each, looking very lost on the large double bed. Duvet is the wrong size for the bed, it doesn’t even each the sides of the mattress, let alone hang over, so you’ll be duvet fighting all night. Room has a lot of floor space but they clearly didn’t know what to do with it, it all just feels a bit lost and uninspiring, certainly doesn’t feel like a boutique hotel at all. For some inexplicable reason they are reluctant to replenish the toilet paper until you literally go down to reception to ask for some each time; the cleaner is happy to replace shampoo but seemingly not toilet paper, and they only provide one roll at a time, so you’re always caught short at some point - just bizarre. Window for the room without a balcony is not to the outside but to the corridor which lacks privacy, not sure if we missed this in the room description but what couldn’t be expected is that the corridor remains fully illuminated all night and the curtains don’t block the light. You obviously also can’t really air the room because of the window situation.

There are at least 4 Sapphire Hotels in Baku (Sapphire, Sapphire Inn, Sapphire City, Royal Sapphire), so it can get a little confusing. But the Sapphire Inn, where I stayed, is OK. Admittedly, it looks a lot better online than in reality, but it still has lots of good aspects. The location is excellent, easy walking to Old City, waterfront or center. I got room 314, an enormous, old-style space with rather faded beige carpet and hideous gold wallpaper - but space is good and the bed was really comfortable. My bathroom was in very good shape, clean tiles, large rainshower, good hot water and soft towels. The phone did not work and wifi in the room was weak. Breakfast was rather ”non-European”, with olives, tomatoes and cheese, but wonderful dairy (yoghurt, cream and kaymak to die for !). Some fresh juice and eggs (other than boiled) would be nice. Also, the hotel caters for large tourist groups : when they invaded the breakfast room, it was hard to find a seat and the staff struggled to keep the buffet up-to-date. I found all staff, at reception, room service and restaurant, to be super friendly.

The Grand Hotel Baku Central Park is a great budget option for tourists. So, in the price-quality ratio, the Grand Hotel Baku Central Park is at the height of the hotel and the Baku as a whole.

The excellent manager named Edwin, met us as kindly as possible, told about the most delicious restaurants, what sights to visit and where to exchange money. The owner of the hotel also paid special attention to us, treated wine and told a lot of interesting, every evening we spent time in the general company and it was very, very cool! We were paid by the locals through Booking from their card and at the reception they could not find the payment. Receptionists for the work score two. Zero information and attention.
