queen1225The taxi driver told me this is the best and most expensive hotel in Pu'er. And it truly is! The service is incredibly meticulous and impeccable! Every single staff member is so enthusiastic. For example, on the day I was checking out, I went to have lunch at around 1:30 PM. Since I had a very rich breakfast at 10 AM, I just wanted something light for lunch. But then, the auntie at the restaurant saw I only ordered a bowl of rice in soup and actually apologized, saying, ”Oh dear, there's not much left to eat, I'm so sorry. Would you like me to stir-fry two dishes for you?” I repeatedly declined, as it wasn't their fault; it was my choice to come at a time when they were almost closing. This clearly shows how excellent the service really is! The hotel rooms are spacious, and they provide daily fruit, complimentary coffee, water, and tea. Breakfast is very extensive with plenty of choices. Lunch is actually quite similar to breakfast; I haven't tried dinner so I wouldn't know. I'm already looking forward to staying here again on my next trip to Pu'er!

Guest UserThe location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view.
It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark.
The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable.
She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.

This is the first time we came to Pu’Er and we feel very lucky to have booked this accommodation. We As soon as we entered the property we were welcomed and invites to tea by our wonderful hosts. Even though we cannot speak much Chinese, our hosts showed imense patience and understanding. They offered us advice for travelling, shared different types of tea with us and we received a lot of smiles 😀
The room was beautiful with a lot of wooden elements, large balcony and the spacious bed had the perfect hardness to have a proper good night sleep. It was also very clean, no mosquitos and no bad smells 🙌🏼
The location is also great. It is a quiet and clean area, with a beautiful coffee place by the lake and restaurant near by. Also a small convenience store.
We hope to come again here im the future. Thank you again to our lovely hosts 🙏🏼

Guest UserThis is a newly opened hotel.
**Facilities:** New, though some items are of lower quality, like the kettle. They have automatic toilets.
**Hygiene:** Clean.
**Environment:** Spacious and grand.
**Service:** Enthusiastic.
The breakfast is plentiful and offers great value for money. They offer three meals a day, and even though I didn't have time to try them all, I could sense the owner's generosity and pioneering spirit. I sincerely hope their management improves, and their business thrives.

AstrxdThe environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!

The luckiest decision on my trip to Wengji Ancient Village in Jingmai Mountain was choosing Guesthouse No. 69. This guesthouse, run by Brother Ni, didn't rely on flashy advertising, but its thoughtful details made every guest feel a warmth that exceeded expectations, becoming the most precious memory of the entire trip. The guesthouse's location is prime, situated in the heart of the ancient village, surrounded by cafes and specialty restaurants. The popular Beigui Coffee Shop is diagonally opposite, so whether you're looking for a cup of coffee in the morning or a delicious meal in the evening, you don't have to go far. Even more surprisingly, the room had its own small balcony, comfortable and cozy, so I decided to extend my stay.
The room facilities were new, spacious and bright, the bedding was soft and comfortable against the skin, and the pillows were especially good. Combined with the tranquility of the ancient village at night, it ensured a good night's sleep. A smart toilet and user-friendly shower facilities were all provided, and toiletries and other daily necessities were exceptionally complete, dispelling all my concerns about accommodation in the ancient village, making my stay comfortable.
The owner's enthusiasm and his wife's thoughtfulness were also the most touching aspects of this trip. They were like long-lost friends, sharing travel tips for the ancient village, inviting us to sample their homemade Pu'er tea, and chatting warmly and sincerely. The guesthouse breakfast was a delightful surprise: flavorful rice noodles with plenty of ingredients, sweet corn, eggs from local free-range chickens, and refreshing grapes 🍇😋😋😋.
The guesthouse also offers ethnic costume rental services, with exclusive discounts for guests. Wearing Bulang ethnic clothing and taking photos on the ancient village's cobblestone streets and beside old banyan trees instantly immerses you in the local atmosphere. The owner even took a break from his busy schedule to show us the sunrise and sea of clouds; the tranquility and healing away from the hustle and bustle were unforgettable.
There's no commercial alienation here, only the warmth and comfort of home. Next time I visit Jingmai Mountain, I'll definitely return to this ”warm little home” hidden in the ancient village.

Looking at the hotel selected by the evaluation, the owner of the hotel was reported by Yunnan Satellite TV. The hotel is beautiful. You can see the sunrise in the room. The service is particularly good and very satisfied. The tea is delicious, I bought tea on the return trip.

Instead of relying on online hype or negative reviews, it's best to experience it yourself! So far, among the hotels I've stayed at in Yunnan (Kunming and Pu'er), the Lesser Panda Hotel is the best! Please don't compare these forest cabins to city star-rated hotels; the charm here is the rustic feel of being in nature. Cicadas by the window, spiders by the path – you get up close and personal with nature. The facilities might be a bit old, but they are very clean. The service, from the front desk to the customer service center, restaurant, and shuttle service, was excellent, especially the shuttle drivers and the butler! As for activities, the single route is well-planned with no backtracking, offering a variety of plants and close encounters with animals (though not many species, they are incredibly close!). At the Wetland Restaurant, you can even see birds strolling by your window. This is a rainforest-focused forest park, so for those comparing it to Chimelong with fewer animals, please remember this isn't a zoo! In short, when you're out traveling, try to be less critical and more immersed in the experience! Both adults and children had a great time! It's definitely worth staying a night!

Guest UserEven though I only stayed for one night, it was a phenomenal experience from start to finish. The family running the hotel were incredibly welcoming, inviting me for Pu’er tea while checking in and while waiting for my Didi upon checkout. They also provided a safe space for me to store my luggage while I explored the nearby area post-check out. The hotel is perfectly located within the Ancient Tea Horse Road area, 1 minute away from the picturesque tea horse archway (the entry point for a beautiful tea plantation tourist area and the site for a daily dance performance at 19:30). The hotel has also teamed up with a local restaurant to provide a free breakfast coupon - it was fantastic local fare (a “make your own” dry noodle bar) and a very welcome start to a hot day.
Suffice to say, if you’re looking for a hotel in Pu’er I highly recommend you stay here.

Guest UserFirst of all, I want to commend the owner and the young staff for their incredible enthusiasm and ease of communication. Since it had just ended a period of continuous rain, all the little insects on the mountain were out, which was quite frightening. The staff were incredibly helpful, spraying mosquitoes and using mosquito repellent. They were very understanding; that's typical of the rainy season in the mountains. I booked the ”Cloud View” guesthouse specifically for its terrace, which was truly wonderful. The sunset views were amazing, the facilities were new, and the location was fantastic—right at the intersection of the road to Bee Queen Tree and Aileng Mountain. I plan to come back before the next rainy season and stay for a couple more days. It was so comfortable! The life city dwellers yearn for!! Thank you for the white tea, it was so fragrant and sweet!!
