Pet Friendly Hotels in Pu'er

The location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view. It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark. The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable. She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.

This is the first time we came to Pu’Er and we feel very lucky to have booked this accommodation. We As soon as we entered the property we were welcomed and invites to tea by our wonderful hosts. Even though we cannot speak much Chinese, our hosts showed imense patience and understanding. They offered us advice for travelling, shared different types of tea with us and we received a lot of smiles 😀 The room was beautiful with a lot of wooden elements, large balcony and the spacious bed had the perfect hardness to have a proper good night sleep. It was also very clean, no mosquitos and no bad smells 🙌🏼 The location is also great. It is a quiet and clean area, with a beautiful coffee place by the lake and restaurant near by. Also a small convenience store. We hope to come again here im the future. Thank you again to our lovely hosts 🙏🏼

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Tea Horse Ancient City. Just a 100-meter walk downstairs brings you to the Bonfire Square, where you can watch and participate in evening dancing. A few steps further brings you to the Tea Horse Ancient City Night Market, where visitors can stroll, eat, and have fun. The rooms are spacious, bright, and clean, with a small balcony perfect for enjoying the view, tea, and conversation. The proprietress is dedicated, down-to-earth, hardworking, and warmly attentive.

Considering the convenience of our return trip, we chose this hotel for our last night in Jingmai. The view was fantastic, and the owners were very welcoming. The lobby was tastefully decorated, with various plants and furnishings creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Any lounge chair or sofa offered a perfect spot to lazily enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window. The rooms were well-stocked with snacks, a bathtub, a projector, and even a tea table and teaware – the tea owner had thoughtfully provided everything. Each room offered a view of the sea of ​​clouds just by opening the curtains, but unfortunately, the clouds were a bit thin the day we visited; we'll save that for another time.

The first established hotel as you enter the mountains, with plenty of parking spaces right across the street, which is very convenient. It's a bit far from the attractions, so you'll need a car. They offer butler-style service; they'll contact you the day before to provide the address, travel tips, and other information. The hotel has a good variety of activities planned, including roasted milk tea, stir-fried melon seeds, and bonfires in the evening. The hotel's dinner was just okay, with plenty of room for improvement. Breakfast on the rooftop had a great ambiance and taste. The rooms aren't luxurious but are perfectly adequate. The air conditioning was a bit old and didn't heat very well. I didn't have time to experience the travel photography session. It was really expensive during Chinese New Year, haha.

The YU MI apar**ent was clean and as beautiful as on the pictures. We stayed 2 nights and managed to use most of the apar**ent amenities such as a washing machine, TV (English speaking movies included), WIFI (fast and reliable), kettle and hair dryer. The bathroom was spacious and equipped with a western toilet. The stuff was very kind and helpful, they went the extra mile to assure our satisfaction, whether by storing our luggage or borrowing to us a knife for cutting fruits. The area has plenty of good restaurants right in front of the building (inside/around the shopping mall). At night a street market pops up with tasty food. And for those enjoying coffee or tea, the shopping mall offers plenty of shops selling local tea and coffee. We highly recommend to stay at Yu Mi.

Despite its bustling location, the hotel itself is quiet and peaceful, with excellent landscaping; stepping inside immediately creates a relaxing atmosphere. **Service and Front Desk**: From check-in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and professional. Check-in was quick, and they thoughtfully introduced the hotel's various services. During my stay, any needs were met with prompt responses and highly efficient problem-solving. **Room and Facilities**: The room was spacious, warmly and elegantly decorated, and had excellent natural light. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and the toiletries were of high quality. The room was also equipped with smart devices; adjusting the lights and opening/closing the curtains was as simple as speaking – super convenient! **Breakfast and Dining:** The breakfast selection was excellent, with a variety of Chinese breakfast options, as well as Western-style bread, ham, salads, fresh fruit, and freshly squeezed juices – all tasted great. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and the staff promptly cleared tables, making for a superb dining experience. Suggestion: It would be even better if the gym had a wider variety of equipment to cater to different needs. Summary: Whether you're visiting this city for leisure or business, this hotel is an excellent choice. It offers exceptional value for money, with impeccable service and facilities. I will definitely stay here again!

The fact that dogs are allowed is a big plus. Parking is convenient downstairs, and there are slow chargers, although they're a bit expensive 😂. We booked the largest suite, on the top floor, away from the street, so we couldn't hear any street noise. However, there's a water pump on the roof, and you can clearly hear it running from the rooms, especially the one to the left of the entrance. The one to the right is less noticeable. Since I'm a very light sleeper, my husband had to sleep in the room where he could hear the pump, but he said he could hear it too. So, I think this issue really needs to be addressed. Either add a soundproofing mat to the roof, or move the pump to a location not under the rooms. We stayed for two days. The first day, since only our room had breakfast, they prepared very little, which is understandable. The second day, with more people, they prepared more food.

The hotel is 4 stars. The facilities are only worth 3 stars. They are very old. Some rooms are still toilets. If there are cars in the parking lot at night, it will be a bit noisy. In the morning, I don't know what the neighboring community is doing, it will also be a bit noisy. I wanted to give it 3 stars, but I added one point for breakfast. The hotel's breakfast is in the rice noodle shop next door. The shop is open to the public and many locals come to eat. The 12 yuan beef copper pot rice noodles are not cheap, but the business is very good, which shows that the taste is very good. The rice noodles are cooked in a copper pot on a gas stove and then divided into large bowls. There are more than 20 kinds of condiments next to them. I can't even name half of them, and you can add them freely. My companion finished half of a bucket of chili oil, and when he was about to leave, he picked up another one and stuffed it into his mouth. There are free soy milk and porridge. If you don't stay in this hotel, this rice noodle is also worth a try.

All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.
