Pet Friendly Hotels in Pu'er

The location of the homestay is good, it is very suitable for self-driving. The boss greeted us very enthusiastically. The top floor rooftop can watch the sunrise 🌅, which is slightly blocked. The sea of clouds is beautiful and it is worth coming. There are several varieties of breakfast, all delicious 😋, it can be seen that the boss is operating carefully. Like 👍

We had a wonderful time at Penglai Heyuan Inn. The host and his daughter were wonderfully welcoming to us. Every evening, we were offered fantastic teas, and they told us about the region and its various teas. They also helped us with information about what to see and with arranging excursion. In fact, it was the daughter who drove us around to some wonderful places, and it felt as if being out on a trip with a friend. Moreover, our room was cosy, roomy and spotlessly clean. The small hotel is located in a beautiful and quaint neighbourhood, just south of the town. It is nice for walks, and there are restaurants and convenience stores just around the corner. We can't wait to come back to Penglai Heyuan Inn in Pu Er.

I would love to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Old Town of Chama. It may be a little tricky to find at first, but just follow Google Maps and you’ll get there easily. From the main gate of the Old Town, it’s only about a 5-minute walk. The hotel itself is quite new and very clean. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom facilities and appliances are all modern and high-quality. The soundproofing is excellent—although you might hear music and dancing outside, once inside the room it’s perfectly quiet. The location strikes a nice balance: slightly away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a few steps from plenty of food stalls and restaurants. What really makes this place special is the owners. They are a warm, welcoming family with parents, an elder sister, and two younger brothers. They don’t speak English, but communication was never a problem—we used Google Translate to chat over cups of delicious tea. If you need anything, you can always ask them. Considering the convenience of our return trip, we chose this hotel for our last night in Jingmai. The view was fantastic, and the owners were very welcoming. The lobby was tastefully decorated, with various plants and furnishings creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Any lounge chair or sofa offered a perfect spot to lazily enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window. The rooms were well-stocked with snacks, a bathtub, a projector, and even a tea table and teaware – the tea owner had thoughtfully provided everything. Each room offered a view of the sea of ​​clouds just by opening the curtains, but unfortunately, the clouds were a bit thin the day we visited; we'll save that for another time.

The first established hotel as you enter the mountains, with plenty of parking spaces right across the street, which is very convenient. It's a bit far from the attractions, so you'll need a car. They offer butler-style service; they'll contact you the day before to provide the address, travel tips, and other information. The hotel has a good variety of activities planned, including roasted milk tea, stir-fried melon seeds, and bonfires in the evening. The hotel's dinner was just okay, with plenty of room for improvement. Breakfast on the rooftop had a great ambiance and taste. The rooms aren't luxurious but are perfectly adequate. The air conditioning was a bit old and didn't heat very well. I didn't have time to experience the travel photography session. It was really expensive during Chinese New Year, haha.

The YU MI apar**ent was clean and as beautiful as on the pictures. We stayed 2 nights and managed to use most of the apar**ent amenities such as a washing machine, TV (English speaking movies included), WIFI (fast and reliable), kettle and hair dryer. The bathroom was spacious and equipped with a western toilet. The stuff was very kind and helpful, they went the extra mile to assure our satisfaction, whether by storing our luggage or borrowing to us a knife for cutting fruits. The area has plenty of good restaurants right in front of the building (inside/around the shopping mall). At night a street market pops up with tasty food. And for those enjoying coffee or tea, the shopping mall offers plenty of shops selling local tea and coffee. We highly recommend to stay at Yu Mi.

The location is very good, very close to the North Return logo park, the reception and room attendants are particularly good. There are also a lot of meals around. I walked a few hundred meters to Yang's mother Hani's private kitchen. The taste was super good.

The fact that dogs are allowed is a big plus. Parking is convenient downstairs, and there are slow chargers, although they're a bit expensive 😂. We booked the largest suite, on the top floor, away from the street, so we couldn't hear any street noise. However, there's a water pump on the roof, and you can clearly hear it running from the rooms, especially the one to the left of the entrance. The one to the right is less noticeable. Since I'm a very light sleeper, my husband had to sleep in the room where he could hear the pump, but he said he could hear it too. So, I think this issue really needs to be addressed. Either add a soundproofing mat to the roof, or move the pump to a location not under the rooms. We stayed for two days. The first day, since only our room had breakfast, they prepared very little, which is understandable. The second day, with more people, they prepared more food.

A bag of 98 is not expensive, which is very suitable for souvenirs. The glass windows at the front desk are hung with some local recommendations, we feel very meaningful 3 minutes walk, there is a good restaurant, chicken rotten rice is delicious Very close to the museum, there is a manor on the mountain where the museum is located, it is ”the family music”, we feel more exciting than the museum

All the reviews are true, but it’s not the wooden building that causes it.  Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.  Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.  The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.  The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this. Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.  Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.  We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.  Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.  For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.
