We have recently returned from a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable 10 night vacation at Vivara Private Pool Villas & Spa Retreat in Jimbaran, Bali. Our aim was to get away from our busy life and take a complete break. The resort comprises 48 beautiful, private, self-contained pool villas, most of which are one or two-bedroom. Each villa is like your own home-away-from home, with pool decking and lounges, an alfresco kitchen bungalow (with a daily replenishment of non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar), outdoor rain shower and bathroom, and a spacious bedroom with lounge area. It is clear that the resort aims to make every guest’s experience as comfortable as possible. As we were so comfortable in our villa, we were determined not to become complete ‘holiday recluses’ and, despite room service being the option for many of the guests, we always walked to the poolside restaurant for breakfast each morning, afternoon tea every second day, before feasting on a fabulous evening dining experience on alternate evenings. Needless to say, we did not leave Vivara hungry! The resort is like a small community, and staff are more than happy to transport you to and from your villa using golf buggies, or you can take advantage of the communal bikes and scooters and ride around the resort pathways. Additionally, a complimentary shuttle service to and from Jimbaran Beach is available, and times are customised to guests, creating a very personalised and welcome service. Being a spa retreat, we indulged in five deep tissue massages each, and they were a highlight of our stay. The private bungalows are built in a traditional Balinese style, are quiet and calming, and the masseuses provided a comfortable, relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Thank you, so much. The heart of the resort, though, is the staff. They were all, without exception, incredibly friendly, helpful, and always keen to converse and learn about their guests, or share their insights into Bali. We cannot recommend the Vivara staff highly enough. Thank you, Keke, and all your staff, for making our stay so enjoyable. We loved being immersed in the Balinese style of the resort, and Vivara did not disappoint as the ideal place for us to unwind and relax. We have no hesitation in recommending Vivara to any visitors searching for the same experience.

My family and I have stayed here on a few occasions as well as other 5-star resorts, but we prefer Movenpick. The architecture is appealing from the outside to the inside. The rooms are large and well appointed with a large Bali bathtub, natural stone accents and color palette. Linens are luxurious, which include down comforters and oversized pillows. Service is superior to most Bali resorts. From the personal interaction with Maicel at the front desk to the servers in the restaurant & pool side bar….all creating a memorable & personal stay. Thank you Movenpick employees. We’ll see you in a few months for another great experience.

Just back from our wonderful stay. This was our first visit for me, my husband and our kids aged 8 and 10. Everyone was wonderful, accommodating and kind. We all felt at home and their service really made our holiday. Special mention must go to Smiley and Alit. They are both such amazing people - they were an endless source of entertainment to my kids, especially playing football with my son. They seemed to know every guest by first name and nothing was too much trouble for them. The pool is stunning and well maintained, along with the gardens. The breakfast was also fantastic. We were sad to say goodbye and can't wait to come back :) Tip: Try Oil & Vinegar nearby for lunch or dinner - it was incredible.

This is a new hotel located right on Kedonganan beach. Everything still looks new and there are some parts under construction. When we checked in, we were warmly welcomed by Indah at the front desk and the check in process was very quick and easy. Everything I requested at the time of booking was well catered for. Upon entering the room, we were amazed by the spaciousness of the hotel room. The bed was very spacious and soft, very comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom was also clean and spacious. The shower was very strong and as a plus, there was a bathtub. On our first night, the hotel crew surprised my wife, who happened to be celebrating a birthday. This is something we have never experienced during our stay at any hotel, a personal birthday surprise to my wife, which made her very touched. The hotel crew that I need to give appreciation to are: 1. Indah (receptionist) 2. Mr. Rocky (duty manager) 3. Liang (F&B service) 4. Rio (Beldriver) For those four names, we are very honored to get the surprise. Thanks guys! Too bad we didn't get a photo with you guys. Besides that, the gym, sauna and jacuzzi are our favorite spots. This hotel is definitely highly recommended. Besides its very strategic location.

The hotel and amnenities was great . However during check in , I had a really unpleasant experience. I had booked a room with a king sized bed , however the staff offered a deluxe room with a terrace and double beds , stating there was no king size beds available. This was when to my dismay , the manager named Mr Wija stepped in and was extremely rude to us,treating us like fools eventhough I asked politely if we could get a king sized bed as booked. He was furious about our request and raised his voice to tell us NO UPGRADE WILL BE GIVEN eventhough I never asked for one .It left me with a distasteful feeling the entire stay. Please do better Mr Wija, a hotel manager of a 5 star esteemed hotel shouldn’t behave the way you did

Perfect! The staff was very friendly, probably the best I’ve met and they greeted us with a welcome drink. Our room was clean and the things folded every day without us asking. The pool was very clean and usually not busy. Car doors were open each time for us going out and coming in. The food was delicious and the restaurant staff was friendly and made sure we got everything we requested each day. I got sick on my last day and they were so concerned and wanted to take me to the hospital or call a doctor for me. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Kanishka provided us with the ideal holiday in Bali! It is centrally located in Seminyak. Just walk out the door and there are all the shops, restaurants and facilities. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. Our room came with a private pool. The staff are friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Kanishka!

I can’t wait to return! Don’t think twice about it. I am traveling in a group of 5, I myself single in the studio worked beautifully. From arrival we were greeted at the airport quickly to the property where we were met once again with a warm welcome and orientation of our home for the next 6 days. Their story can be found on their website and is worth a read. We participated in their yoga classes, meditation, sistrum, ice bath, sound healing sessions. Kim is amazing and has impacted my life in a way no one else could touch. I wonder if she knows? A good selection from their breakfast menu was included, enjoyed it next to the pool near the ocean across the way. Potato Head was the first week of our journey to Bali and I now believe it when they say that when the stars align, you’ll know it. And Fysh, if you could be so blessed to meet her here. She took care of our group with her heart and it is still felt! I’m not going to ruin it for you. Interior fit-out nicely done , natural woodwork in combination with the landscaping and the lighting 👌🏼 Excellent service from the associates with great assistance and genuine interest in guests well-being Food experience was great , had the best cheese burger since I can’t remember , great breakfast too The restaurant location is a bit confusing to find , the restaurant aesthetics is a bit bear Guestrooms is very cozy with the natural woodwork and lighting , size of the room is questionable if it os to be considered a 5 star Fitness not available yet Overall splendid Loek van Emmerik

Bernie and I stayed at Akah Cottages for just under a week and were pleasantly surprised by the high level of hospitality and customer service provided by the owner and her staff. The rooms were beautifully maintained and demonstrated a love for the property itself. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and the home-cooked meals were authentic and delicious. After staying at supposed '5-star' accommodation back in Bali, these ritzy hotels didn't come close to Akah in terms of true attention to detail, care and customer service. Our host was lovely and we will definitely be coming back. Thanks for taking such good care of us! Olivia & Bernie
