Despite a couple of hiccups, we enjoyed our stay at Komaneka. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, which made our holiday more memorable. This trip was to celebrate our recent engagement, and we were so happy to he greeted by this cute flower arrangement on our bed. Breakfast was adequate (loved the fruit cuts, juice and Bali coffee) but afternoon tea was so so. For more authentic local food experience, you'd want to dine outside of the resort.

My recent stay at The Pari Sudha in Ubud, Bali, was delightful overall. The hotel exudes charm and offers a truly secluded getaway. However, there are a few logistical points future visitors should know to set expectations.
Accessibility
Getting to the hotel can be a bit challenging. The property is not located directly on the main road, and you'll need to navigate a narrow 150ish meter alley on foot or by scooter. When we arrived at the Google Maps pin for The Pari Sudha, we found a small ”reception” desk with no staff present. After calling the hotel, they promptly sent someone to pick us up and assist with our luggage, which was greatly appreciated. However, it would have been much more convenient if this information were shared in advance to avoid confusion.
The Property
Once you settle in, The Pari Sudha reveals its true beauty. The design is charming and blends seamlessly with the surrounding lush greenery. The pool in front of the forest adds a serene touch, offering sightings of squirrels and other wildlife, making it a peaceful retreat. We opted for the floating breakfast, which, while pricey due to the additional charge for the basket, was a unique experience.
Our room came with a private pool just a few steps away. Although small, it was beautifully designed and added to the sense of luxury. This hotel is perfect for those seeking tranquility and a break from the bustling city life.
Dining Options
The hotel only serves breakfast. For other meals, there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance, and food delivery options are readily available in Ubud. Be prepared to venture out for lunch or dinner as needed.
Nearby Attractions
The property also includes a temple on the lower ground, about a 10-minute walk away. Unfortunately, it is not well-maintained, so I’d recommend skipping it to save yourself the hassle.
Hospitality
The staff were consistently hospitable and accommodating. Their warmth added to the overall positive experience. I hope the property continues to be well-maintained so it can retain its charm for future guests.
Final Thoughts
Despite the initial challenges of locating and accessing the hotel, my stay at The Pari Sudha was memorable and relaxing. For those looking to unwind amidst nature and experience a quieter side of Ubud, this hotel is an excellent choice.

Great service and breakfast. Love the staff. Very peaceful and forest-like. The only small complaint is not about the hotel so much. It's location is a bit far and there was a ceremony so our taxi couldn't reach it so we had to walk in the rain. Oh, and the room smells wet, but I guess it's for every hotel there. Otherwise it was perfect.

Great Stay
We had a great time at Element Ubud. The staff were super friendly and helpful, though some could improve their English a bit. Big shoutout to William at breakfast, he was super attentive, spoke great English, and totally got what we needed and more.
Inspired by a traditional village Amandari is framed by jungle and rice terraces in Balis cultural heartland. Alang-alang-thatched houses some with pools - all with private tropical gardens - cosset guests under bamboo ceilings their suites elegantly decorated with teak and coconut-wood. The grounds are both sacred and essential to local families; children attend dance classes here and religious processions pass through regularly leading down the steps that spill below Amandari to a 7th-century stone tiger - a motif repeated throughout the property. Follow the road out of the village to hike or bike the emerald-green landscape or head further afield for artisan villages - hidden temples and the palaces and boutiques of Ubud.
Overlooking a tranquil lily pond the Spas offerings range from massages and manicures to traditional Balinese treatments.
Both Indonesian and Western dishes are specialities at the open-air Restaurant or dine intimately in the rainforest with a private chef.
Set amid aromatic frangipani trees and the enveloping warmth of a Balinese village Amandari is perfectly suited to special occasions of all kinds.

Every single stay of mine with the Aman hotels is wonderful and unforgettable. Amandari is no exception. I found an extraordinary sense of peace and tranquility as I sat by the hotel's pool, gazing out at the lush green trees in the distance. As always, the rooms at Aman were spacious yet cozy and elegantly refined. The staff, dressed in traditional Indonesian attire, attended to us so thoughtfully that it seemed I had nothing to worry about except savoring the serene, peaceful moments.

We adored this villa, it was so picturesque and serene. The main hotel building is on the main road in central Ubud which suffers terrible traffic, but once inside the hotel it’s another world. A minute walk down the path to the back of the hotel to this villa. The pool and the view speak for themselves. Hotel location is perfect for Ubud exploration. Service exceptional. Breakfast spread delicious and changed every day, also included gluten free options. We would definitely book again!

Perfect Stay for Couples. Room is spacious and tidy, Cleanliness is slightly less than perfect, partly due to the aged fittings and furniture. The fridge has a lose hinge and you will have to push harder to actually close it well, though it can be easily replaced. The sofa has some unidentified stains. The balcony door lock is slightly faulty and it somehow latched on when we closed the doors, thus we got locked outside in the balcony for some time. However, kudos to the team who sent technicians who came to our rescue. Having said these, everything else in this hotel made it a memorable trip for me and my wife. Breakfast served at ”Brasserie restaurant” is 4/5 stars. The staff will take your orders while you are also free to take the items from the buffet counters. The coffee served to you is available as espresso based drinks and not just the typical machine or brewed-in-pot type. Variety is mediocre but at least most of them taste great. Located at the heart of Ubud, it is nearby many great eateries, cafes and bars. Also near to Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, Ubud Market and some other places of interests. If you can stand the heat and walk for 30mins, you can also reach Campuhan Ridge Walk, or take a slower stroll while admiring the buildings and fancy shops. Even if you are not planning to go out, there's also many great options within their compound; such as Dala Spa, Cerita Manisan, Rayjin, Pison and Chontea, all under Alaya Hotel group. I particularly enjoyed Pison and Rayjin.

Villa is stunning, the rooms are cozy, but bathroom was a little “tired”, anyway it was clean and nice. I really liked decorations, staff was super friendly and the breakfasts were amazing!
✅ The view is amazing, villa is surrounded by nature, it’s calm, quiet and super nice!
❌ vehicle access. It’s super hard to get to the place by car, especially bigger ones, that you can usually take in the airport. I’ve ordered car 4 times and 3/4 times we got stuck in the middle of the road. All in all, if you are renting a bike or taxi-bike that should be all right.

Absolutely one of my favorite hotels in Ubud. Location is slightly far away from the monkey forest Main Street area but can easily call a grab.
Hotel view is amazing feel like you are in a jungle. Front desk service is great if you are revisiting Bonvoy members.
Breakfast is amazing!
Overall very detailed oriented as they provide lavender oil at night.

LLuanna Cardoso deArriving at the hotel I immediately smelled the mould. The hotel is beautiful but smells. We were kindly received at the door, they picked up our luggage, and served us a welcome drink while we did the check in. I started to sneeze and my nose clogged so I explained I was allergic to dust and I would like a room with more sunlight and wind. When we entered the room the musty smell was unbearable. I immediately complained and they promptly found another room without carpets. I believe it was an upgrade. They also sent us an apology card with fruits and chocolates. Unfortunately, the new room was still smelly, not as smelly as the first one, but we accepted as we were super tired and didn’t want to wait any longer. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
Shower pressure was fantastic
Breakfast was great, they had options like avocado toast, salmon bagel, burritos, and a variety of international options
Bed was comfortable
Swimming pool Temperature was perfect and the bar very convenient with great drinks
Beach is clean and not crowded
Sunset is beautiful
The restaurants had a good environment and good food. A bit pricey, but overall worth it.
Cons:
Mould. This is actually the only reason I wouldn’t go back to this hotel. The smell is in the room and the entrance mainly. The rest of the areas are okay. This hotel was built in 1993, so I have to say that if it wasn’t for that, the hotel would be in amazing condition.
Service by the pool was very slow, my husband tried to get a beer first thing when he arrived and only after calling the waiter twice they brought him the beer, but it was room temperature! 😞
Coconut water and beer were not cold, they actually offered ice, but it just made it watery and tasteless.
Bike rental can only be used inside the hotel, and they don’t tell you that when you rent it. I tried to go out to cycle in the surrounding area and they didn’t allow me to go. After complaining, the charged me half price for the rent. I only used inside the hotel and at the beach in front of the hotel.
Concierge service was very slow and inefficient. He didn’t have packages to offer, photos, or videos. Everything was searched on Google right in front of us. The only option given was a private driver that could take us anywhere we wanted to go. The problem is that we didn’t know the places, so we were expecting a better introduction to the island and the activities. We ended up doing our own research and hiring the driver.
Transfer from hotel to airport costs 430,000 RP, but if you get a grab (similar to Uber/Didi) it will cost you less than 80,000 RP.
Overall, the hotel is a good option if you can tolerate the smell. That’s the only reason I wouldn’t recommend it. Otherwise it was a great stay for the price.
ZZhang(xinyan)Although the location of the hotel is a bit remote, it doesn't matter for the second half of our trip, which is mainly for playing in the hotel! We still ordered a single-family villa with a swimming pool, which is quite private. We ordered breakfast. Various Western breakfasts are very suitable for our taste. We ordered dinner in the room on the first night. The food was very delicious and exquisite. The whole table was only more than 500 yuan when we checked out. The seafood set meal was booked in the restaurant for dinner on the second day. It was still delicious and exquisite. Blowing the sea breeze and listening to living music, it was romantic and warm! The chef also came to each table to introduce the dishes and listen to opinions. Very nice! Champagne was sent to the room, which was delicious! In addition to the welcome fruit sent on the first day, there were snacks sent every day, which were delicious😋! The hotel's unique black sand beach is very special and beautiful! In short, it is very quiet and very private, very good! Very like it!
SSankeerthana ChiramanaIt was a memorable trip with my family in Bali Hilton resort. Especially the memories we captured in the beautiful locations of the resort by Dreams Studio Bali, Geraldo and Eka.
Thank you and wonderful job by you guys !! when I now see the pictures on my wall, I feel really happy and think that I've taken a good decision to choose you guys to capture our memories!!
GGuest UserA very disappointing stay at this hotel. Issues started at check in and continued throughout our stay . Our family booked 5 rooms at the Alam KUL KUL and we all had issues with facilities and getting any action taken to address them . To start we visited the hotel in mid November 2023 to enquire about late checkout when we stayed in February 2024. The hotel reception were very pleasant in November and guaranteed that late checkout was easy and it was a great rate of 550.000 . The reception staff said that they had added the late checkout to our booking. When we arrived in February everything was different. First the reception staff questioned that we had visited in November and that we did not have late checkout added to our booking. They insisted that we name the hotel staff who we had spoken with in November. After much discussion we had the late checkout added but staff were less than friendly. Then they insisted we pay the extra money straight away. We said no problem but then my wife’s wise card wouldn’t work in their payment machine and staff kept insisting that the wrong pin was being entered. My wife had been using the card for the last 7 days in Bali with no issues. So I then gave them my wise card and was surprised when it wouldn’t work in their machine either. I also had been using my card daily in Bali with no issues. After much further discussion with hotel reception they said that we could pay at check out. We had already pre paid for all 5 rooms prior to this. On the day of checkout I received a request to contact reception as they had no records of us asking for late checkout. During several WhatsApp messages from reception they said that we had refused to pay for the late checkout and that we had stated that we would get it free. I was absolutely disappointed to receive these messages and we had never stated anything about free late checkout. The reception staff continued sending messages that were completely false statements. In reflection I think that the staff were trying to cover up the poor service lack of professionalism that they lacked. This were only a few of the small issues that arose during our stay . Our daughter and family had a mouse running around their room and it took staff 3 days to come and look at the room. There was never any offer to change rooms. Another family group had their air conditioning not working and it took 3 days for the hotel to address that issue . My wife ordered drinks during happy hour at the garden pool and when the bill came they wanted to charge full price and their staff stated that my wife had ordered room service! She was locked out of our room at the time because the electronic key kept failing.
On 3 separate occasions I asked to speak with the hotel manager to see if we could get better communication and service. Unfortunately the manager was always unavailable, so can only assume that is where the problem starts . Too important or don’t care about hotel guests.
Most of the hotels staff were extremely friendly and welcoming especially the restaurant staff.
The Alam is a very old property in a very good location. The rooms have been renovated and beds are comfortable. After visiting Bali about 16 times and staying in many different hotels and villas this was our most disappointing stay in Bali. It’s a shame that the small issues kept coming and that the hotel were either trying to cover up or complacent about.
FFfern_elfRoom is nice and modern. Breakfast box is provided when requested for early Nusa Penida one-day trip. We found so many ants in the room, e.g., wall, working table, closet. Staff use insect repellent spray and it's kinda work. The security team is quite impressive, they help us get in the car and leading to our corrected elevator.
AAnonymous UserStaying here was a real retreat. The room which has pool access we booked was clean, spacious, intimate bcs there only a few room. Our room was very close to the dining gazebo where there were some plugs so we could working with our laptop with a sight of ricefields. the bathroom has a good warm water shower. I love when the morning sun can penetrate to the room. Nasi goreng and Mie goreng for breakfast are quite tasty. - But sometimes you can hear a gecko at night and unfortunately during our 2n3d stay, there were no one clean and make up our room. Also tissue and water didn't get refilled.
VVRaroundtheworldA 5 star hotel containing great amenities and amazing rooftop views of Bali and the beach on the other side.
Breakfast buffet have a variety of options, definitely worth the extra price
Stayed in an ocean room and was extremely spacious for a couple, with a lovely balcony view of the ocean.
Area surround long the hotel is not as industrialised, a few restaurants on the street but not much else. Also the beach is not so easily accessible due to the beachfront restaurants closeby
GGuest UserExcellent room. Really big with nice sitting area, balcony, good working desk. Also loved the bathroom.
Had some problems getting the safe to work but eventually were fixed.
There is not much micro economy outside and just one restaurant. I did manage to get Grab from the hotel.
The hotel runs a great shuttle to Semarapura and Goa Lawah, it's free but you tip the driver and guide and pay for entry to the various sites.
The spa area is nice but the treatment I had was not very good.
SShahriar ImranGreat central location
I stayed at Homestay Alam Pangkung for a night, really enjoyed its location in the city center where everything is within walking distance.
