"This is a relatively large hotel in Banff. You can see the snow-capped mountains from all the rooms. The hot spring on the terrace is also very good. It is very pleasant to soak in the hot spring and count the stars at night! The hotel is right outside the 1st and 2nd bus lines. Check-in will give you a 3-day unlimited free ticket. You can also take the airport bus at the door to Calgary Airport. It is very convenient! Suitable for self-guided travel."

"Great stay! Clean, location is just at the end of town which is convenient by bus — we like how it’s not chaotic but also still central especially with their free passes! Tea and coffee provided and even had oat milk! Loved the hot pool and sauna as well!"

"The Ptarmigan Inn is located in the center of the Banff downtown. It is minutes of walk to numerous dining and shopping options. Parking can be difficult around town. The hotel offers free shuttle passes and the bus stops are just one block away. It also offers free parking and we had no problem to find a space during our stay (July 2025). Other reviewers mentioned about parking space problem but the parking space issue only applies to the skiing season when mostly people arrive with a car. Our room was in good size and came with a balcony. The only complaint I had was that our room was right next to the elevators and the noise from elevators was quite annoying. The elevator is a bit old and makes loud noise. In addition, there are people talking loudly by the elevator in the morning."

"Location was great, we found ourselves walking everywhere from the hotel for every meal as the proximity to everything was so close. The room was very nice and bathroom had 2 types of shower heads, one that’s able to be handheld. If we ever travel back to Banff again I would stay here again."

"Most things were great (location/cleaniness/service/facilities) however thought it strange the bed was right by the door to the room. If the bed had been 1 inch bigger one would not have been able to open the door to the room."

"Location strategic, very near to the main street where lots of restaurants and souvenir shops are. A supermarket is nearby. A bus stop (bus no.1 is nearly in the front). The room is spacious and get heated very soon. There's kettle, hair dryer, everything I need. There's a small gym room as well. Staff service so so (they omitted to call me notwithstanding my walk-up call request. Luckily I was still struggling with jetlag at the time and didn't fall asleep actually before checking out for an airport shuttle in early morning. Price good"
