"We did a little staycation in Banff from Calgary and overall had a great time. The cave pool was a big hit, but just a heads up that it’s not really a “swimming pool.” It’s more like a large cave-style hot tub. It’s shallow, and the water is fairly hot, so the kids couldn’t really swim or put their faces under the water. The cave setup is very cool though, and the adults really enjoyed it for relaxing. The dry sauna was also great. We stayed in a suite with two double beds, plus a living area with a sofa bed, a dining area, and a kitchenette. We were happy with the layout. The suite was clean, but it is definitely dated. One downside was the TVs. I know you don’t go to Banff to sit and watch TV, but it would be nice if they updated to smart TVs. If you’re traveling with kids, I’d suggest bringing a Fire Stick or Chromecast. Even an HDMI cable to connect a laptop would work, but make sure you download movies ahead of time because the Wi-Fi in our area was pretty spotty and the kids kept losing connection. The front desk staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. They made parking easy, provided bus passes, and explained local info without us having to ask a bunch of questions. We’d stay here again, and next time we’ll definitely bring something for the TV so we can do an easy movie night after a busy day."

Fairmont Banff Springs

Fairmont Banff Springs

📍 405 Spray Ave, Banff
★★★★★ 8.7 (51 reviews)

"I think it is a good experience to stay in a castle. 😊 Overall, the staff are friendly and helpful. But, the room is considered small and one king size bed is smaller than other 5-star hotels in downtown. As the room price is not cheap, i would recommend to try for one night stay to experience it."

Banff Park Lodge ★★★
"The room is spacious for 4 of us, very clean and modern. The lodge is very close to the downtown, we enjoyed walking everyday to explore the city center. The indoor pool is always busy, and our room location is very far from the pool so we didn’t try the pool, but I was happy enough to have a hot tub every night in our room after the activities. The view from our room is also beautiful especially when it snows. The lodge has a spa, a hair salon, an a ski shop. I checked the price of the gloves at their shop is very reasonable. The parking garage is very convenient (although we have to pay for it). The breakfast is good with reasonable price for kids. Some front desk staffs (one Filipino lady and one local) were not friendly but most of the staffs were nice and helpful. Easy check in and check out, they provided pre-check in via whatsapp and always checked us if we need anything."

"I booked a 8bed room with female only. However, it turned out was a mix gender room. I was really surprised when I saw some guys are inside the room, cuz I didn’t expect that. The staff is nice, but the female rooms are fully occupied, that I can’t change my room. They finally got a discount for my booking."

Banff Aspen Lodge ★★★
"Excellent service and amenities. The toiletries smells so nice in all shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The size of room is large enough for 3 ppl in the room. The hot tub and sauna are a plus after exhausting day of hiking in winter. The breakfast also is very good. I would comeback again. One recommendation is to have sandals in the room."

"Really enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean, cozy, and the staff were very accommodating from check-in until checkout. They even offered complimentary coffee and tea upon arrival which was such a nice touch. What made our stay extra special was how they surprised our son with a birthday cake and restaurant credit for his birthday. Super thoughtful and truly appreciated. Thank you for making our stay memorable"
