The youth hostel of the factory of Beijing artillery bureau is close to the Lama Temple, and the hutongs are full of ordinary people's homes. It used to be a prison, an arsenal, a factory. Now it is a real youth hostel. Without luxurious decoration, the original appearance of the old factory is preserved as much as possible. Nice place to stay! Close to Subway station and bus stop! Nice restaurants with delicious food are nearby. Plus, the staff are really helpful. And I really enjoyed their breakfast!

It’s cheap. But even at the price point, this was one of the most disappointing Chinese hostels I’ve stayed in. Sure, the location’s nice, but the beds are uncomfortable (the inability to block out light around the bed was a huge negative), charging in the rooms was awkward, the overall environment somewhat dingy. Next time I’ll either stay farther out or simply deal with the price of an actual hotel.

I the cheapest one with convenient to access from Yong He gong temple/station It is located in the Hutong ( small old style village) inside has many rooms that may be 120 beds there. BUT please consider this place has only 2 bathrooms and 2 shower rooms to service more than 100 people each day! Has coined laundry, spacious common areas, various drinks to buy here. NO towels, but sometimes it has liquid soap in the shower room.
Recommended for budget people who dont care of the cleanliness of sharing facilities.

Beautiful, comfortable cozy place in a great location, the place offer different services and between them visit to the Great Wall!
The area is calm even if surrounded by restaurants and quite central and close by subway to the Tiananmen and many malls!

The location is so good and convenient, it is near to the subway transportation and Hutong famous place. However the price is also the cheapest in the surrounding areas. I think it will be suitable for short trip

This place is alright. It's great for meeting other travelers. You can always count on a group of foreigners hanging outside and smoking. Most of the staff doesn't speak English at all, although one guy did. They sell some convenient stuff at reception like drinks, cigarettes, instant noodles, etc. The common area is nice. I'm surprised another reviewer called it small because it can accomodate a few dozen people. The bathrooms/showers are kinda a disaster but what do you expect. This place seems quite expensive for what it is, but I didn't find a lot of alternatives in Beijing. Overall I had a good experience here.

Best place to start your journey in Beijing and enjoy the city inside old houses with nice people to meet. The best think is the very well English speaking Chinese Tony at the entrance and check in who guides you with a lot of recommendations. Always again thanks a lot
