Hotels near Walgreens Pharmacy in Beltsville

It's rare I come across a hotel where I not only vow to never return, but will go out of my way to warn others to not even consider staying there. My wife and I pulled up to the main entrance, my wife needed to use the restroom so she entered the hotel while I parked the car to let our dog out for relief before we checked in. My wife asked the front desk clerk where the restroom was located and was immediately peppered with questions about if she was a guest (she told her we were going to be checking in - but she needed to use the restroom NOW), the clerk wanted the confirmation number, etc., and treated her like she was some vagrant. No smiles, no professionalism, just a mean, stern challenge if she should even be there or not. She returned to the car a few minutes later in tears telling me of the treatment she had just received. Obviously, we did not stay there. If management wants to review any security video of the incident, this took place on April 4th @ 1pm. I will be writing to Choice Hotels as well regarding this incident. Not only will we not give this hotel any future consideration, but the bad taste this awful experience left us has tainted any thought of staying at any Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, etc., in the future (we're retired, travel a LOT, and stay several nights over the year in hotels such as these). I read some of the other reviews of this place. Ownership, management, etc., needs to seriously evaluate their concept of ”hospitality”. To each their own, but be WARNED about staying at this place.

Next to Washington, Maryland, it takes 40 minutes to drive to Washington. There is everything around, and there is an IKEA. The hotel itself is very good, clean and friendly. The most commendable thing is breakfast, good taste, variety, is a rare breakfast at this price hotel.

Totally nonresponsive to our booking needs. We clearly communicated our needs for a handicap room as well as a double room to accommodate 3 family members. Nothing was as ordered when we arrived an hour past check in time. The handicap room had a tub when we requested a walk in shower. There was absolutely no storage in the room or bathroom. There was no safe in the room. We were told that this was how all handicap rooms were. There was no soap in the room. It took two requests from housekeeping to get soap and the head of housekeeping totally contradicted the front desk and said she would get us a room to meet our needs. At 10:30 pm we had to repack all our luggage and move to another room. This room did have a walk-in shower, a small free standing set of drawers in the bathroom, no other storage and a safe that was unreachable and literally on top of what is euphemistically called a closet. All this for only $250 a night, 3 rooms for 3 nights. Not an insignificant amount of money. The only accommodation we received after asking was a free buffet breakfast which was comparable to a Holiday Inn Express, adequate but certainly not lavish. Also because one person made the reservation they would not award loyalty points to anyone else even though we all paid for our own rooms. It shouldn’t be that complicated to change this request.

The hotel is across the street from the University of Maryland. There are supermarkets such as LIDL, CVS, Burger King and McDonald's nearby. Life is fairly convenient. The hotel has a parking lot, not small, and there is a gas station next to it, suitable for self-driving. The breakfast is decent, not rich, but there is everything that should be there. Front desk service is also quite enthusiastic. In addition to the price announced by Ctrip, there is also a County Tax of $6.55 per night

This hotel, although, conveniently located, is on a very, very, very busy street. Very close to the University, and a lot of fun places to eat and hang out, but it comes at the cost of being in an ever so slightly “shady” area. Once inside the hotel, you forget about all of it, and the staff do an excellent job of making you feel welcome and this older property. I will agree with some of the other reviewers that it is conveniently located to the green line, but we were unprepared for all of the fees associated with parking and riding in to DC. We wish we would have reserved parking lot in town and just driven.

Our first time at this property and we chose it because of the location to the metro on the red line. It is right out the back door across the street. Extremely convenient! We were visiting DC for the weekend. The property was nice, the room was room was comfortable, the service was excellent, the underground parking, while there is an additional fee, is secure and convenient and the checkin/checkout process was flawless. If you want a completely digital experience this is it. The staff checked in via text a few times but were not intrusive. We requested extra towels and received them promptly. While we didn’t visit them, there is an on-site restaurant/bar and a coffee shop available. We have stayed at other properties in the area. I am glad we chose to disregard any disgruntled negative reviews. This will be our property of choice when we visit the city.

Title copied from another reviewer who I totally agree with. Five guests ahead of me and it took 35 minutes waiting for my turn. To save your spot 1n the check-in line, you couldn't go sit on available lounge seats obviously. There were 2 check in stations but only one was in use by Michelle. Wait was so bad that I offered to come and open second service station just to get things moving. My local Autozone in Philadelphia salespeople greet every customer at the door but at no time did Michelle acknowledge guests or even attempt to explain long line to assure customers with ”I will be with you shortly” or ”apologies for the delay” or ”the storm crashed our computers” or similar. This leads me to conclude, with some accuracy that an extremely long check-in line is THE NORM at this location . . . . The hotel did have some good aspects, such as nice rooms and adequate gym facilities. However, they were totally overshadowed by the woeful first impression at check-in. Breakfast is also an EXTRA COST add-on i'e - not included in the daily room rate. At the very least, IHG should have added it as a freebie to compensate the guests for the long check-in. IHG must be unaware that most, if not all the guests are coming from a distance - such as a long drive and/or flight, COVID protocols at every stop, TSA rules, etc. By the time most people get to the hotel, the last thimg they want to deal with is another TSA or DMV-type line just to check in. TSA line is understood. DMV line also fully understandable. Long hotel check-in = unfathomable. If I were the front desk clerk I would start with: ”Welcome to Maryland, home of Chesapeake Bay. I do apologize for the long line, if you'd like to have a seat in our comfortable lounge chairs, please put your name on this list here and I will call you when it's your turn. How was your flight/drive? May I get you a chilled bottle of water?” Above will show compassion for your clients, get IHG a better review and soothe travel weary customers Unless IHG considers above outside of their capacity . . . I am not one person to leave a review. However, I am less than pleased. The room is covered in dust. It took over four hours to cool the room down. The king size bed sags in the middle and is extremely uncomfortable. I absolutely do not feel clean in this room. The fitness center is absolutely disgusting. The thermostat in the fitness center is held on by scotch tape and it is overwhelmingly hot in there. The machines have clearly not been cleaned in a while and there are machines that have clear evidence of heavy sweat left on them. I recommend saving a few dollars by choosing another hotel nearby. There is nothing worth the price tag of this stay.

(This review is for a stay back in Jan 2022) I had a relaxing time at Residence Inn. The manager Wendy Williams was very kind and accommodated us so wonderfully I had to do a review. She went above and beyond to give us fantastic service. She even gave the guest some of the old furniture as the hotel was going under renovation. Many guests were happy to pick through the items near the dumpster; despite having a few things set aside, another guest took my items before I got a truck to remove them. Wendy went above and beyond to have her staff find me the exact items in other rooms. Not only did she replace my items, but she also gave me artwork (three frames) and beautiful pillows, and an office chair. When I arrived at the hotel, I knew I would have a relaxing time because I’d stayed there three times prior in the last five years, but I never knew the chair I’m sitting in here to write this review would come from the Marriott.
