I usually refrain from leaving negative reviews, but I must admit that my experience here was disappointing. The room was dated. Despite being slightly open enough to let in a draft, the windows couldn’t be opened or closed properly. The windows remained slightly ajar, and I couldn’t resolve the issue. Additionally, the key cards were unreliable, causing inconvenience.

Friendly staff, nice selection of bar food. We attended a very popular MBS event and stayed the whole weekend. We were very happy and satisfied with our bedroom which was a large modern en suite twin room with very comfy beds. We will definately stay again for other events. Spa/pool not in use.

Good hotel in a great location for visiting family and friends. Pity the pool is closed now as it was a valuable item we used whilst staying in the hotel.

Got an upgrade to a bigger room Service was excellent Couldn’t fault it We stay at the Mercure at least 3 times a year and are always satisfied with everything

Check in was straight forward and staff were helpful and friendly. Large well lit carpark. Building in general is clean but a bit tired and needs an update.

The room was nice and cosy in a quiet location other than rain hitting the loft window. The door was a bit sticky though, receprion said they'd come and have a look at it but that did not happen. Breakfast was lovely and staff packed some fruit for the road.

Staff friendly and helpful good breakfast although could do with extra toaster and an other coffee machine it was very busy at the time we had breakfast so a lot of people waiting to use the toaster and coffee machine Overall nice stay but needs a bit of an upgrade

Older type hotel, and furnishings which I didn't mind, it was comfy and cozy and our room had nice views, the breakfast was excellent- worth paying extra for, so many choices, the staff were lovely and accommodating. We used the pool/steam room but sadly it was being closed down the end of that day- needs lots of work on it, shame they aren't refurbishing the pool/spa. Overall would definitely stay here again

Freezing cold room, but the radiator wouldn't stop making the expanding/contracting noise all night. Getting out of bed to a freezing cold room and having to get dressed in the bathroom after the shower/steam warmed it up is far from ideal. I chose this over a cheaper option that I stayed at nearby that was miles better. Very disappointed.
